All you need to do is download a VPN called WindscrIbe. You can find it in the Google play store. You can also download it onto your laptop. Even I have it on my Chromebook as a Google Chrome extension and it works flawlessly.

And I always use ISG from my smartphone. I even did my eVOA and 30 day visa extension through my smartphone too LOL.

As far as your signal being weak it has nothing to do with the sim card itself. It has to do with the signal strength coming from the cell phone towers and your phone's hardware.

If the ATM didn't mention a conversion fee then you weren't charged one. I used BRI all the time when I was there and was never charged a fee. It might depend on whom you bank with whether or not you are charged a fee but the ATM will mention the fee if you were charged one and you would have to accept or decline it, so by default if there was no mention of a fee then there was no fee charged. You can do the math if you have any doubt, Rp 1,200,000 (a common max withdrawal amount at ATMs in Jakarta) should show up on your account as $71.40 USD give or take). As far as the ATM eating your card that is highly unlikely unless if you forget your card inside the ATM but you should always have several back up cards in the rare event that does happen and have them linked together through zelle so you can zelle yourself money between the different cards.

I'm assuming you meant Sundanese which is an ethnic group in Indonesia. There are Sundanese and Javanese women all over Jakarta. However the Javanese outnumber the Sundanese by a factor of 3 to 1. Jakarta is the largest city on the island of Java.

There are also a lot of ethnic Chinese and Chinese-Indonesian mixed people living in Jakarta. In the area north of classic (the neighborhoods between the Sawa Besar and Mangga Besar metro stations) I ran into alot of ethnic Chinese. One guy who I ran into at a small local dive restaurant even paid for my lunch after talking with me for about a half hour. He was very friendly and interested in the fact that I was there walking around his neighborhood. He told me he was Indo-Chinese but didn't speak any mandarin and that the area I was in was all Indo-Chinese people. When I was done eating and I asked the waitress "berapa" trying to ask how much I owed, the dude told me that he was going to pay it and then he thanked me for coming to his country and welcomed me and said he hoped I enjoyed my stay and would come back again. I also saw a Buddhist temple there on the same street as the small fire station.

The Sundanese women have whiter skin than the Javanese women so that should help you distinguish them. Also you can ask them where they are from "kamu dari mana?" in my experience the Sundanese would usually say Bandung or Bogor.

I've been active on ISG since atleast 2021 in the Colombia forums and I was reading ISG for many years before that. I also have met fellow ISG members in person such as SubCmdr who is one of the real veterans of ISG. Also I have contributed more information than LIH and American Expat combined.

Infact I just helped you with your VPN and ATM issues in my previous post.

I will be back in Jakarta soon and this time I am going to explore the open air brothel of Bekasi (the one that was mentioned in December by GG and then plagiarized by LIH69 a day later).

I read here that there are ATMs at the airport with more money for withdrawals. I've tried quite a few myself and never got past 1. 3 million.

Made a visit to Emporium. Not much to report that hasn't already reported. Notable things were: All in price was 1. 9 for a girl in black. Red was 1. 6 I believe. Nobody asked me for additional tips or upsells. Phone locked up in the case. Most of the time everything is in the locker, which I was wondering if it was a bad idea cause they could steal my money.
