The pattern is clearly there. And as I mentioned before, the Mansion is smart in that they do not say "Hey, book a room here and we will introduce you to Katy, Angel, Christina, etc. " They just set up the opportunity. If you cannot close the deal on your own then you shouldn't be in possession of a passport to begin with.

The one (of many) things Barry (Poblado Rentals) did very well is to not get into the business of setting gringos up with chicas. It's probably one (of the many) reasons his rental business is booming in Medellin right now. He was looking into emulating the Mansion model at one point, but I think his business partner eventally convinced him that it would not be a good idea to pursue, so he killed the plan. Undercover Costa Rica police followed him around the city for over a week, taking pictures and videos of him going into and coming out of one mongering spot after another. When he went to the airport and tried to leave, police arrested him and confiscated his laptop, cell phone, and memory cards. He was thrown into the local shithole prison and slept on the concrete floor next to the urinal for months in an overcrowded cell. A couple of months ago, he was moved to a nicer prison where they keep the geriatric prisoners (Dave is 65, I think). Costa Rica has charged Dave with promoting prostitution through his Facebook page and main website. Absolutely nothing has been done in the courts to move Dave's case along, and this September will mark one year since he was imprisoned. Search on Google and you'll find the complete story about Dave.

As far as ColombiaJake is concerned, meh. To all of you mongers who used Jake's services in the past, you better hope he didn't keep your e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and financial transactions on file. It seems to me that the authorities, most likely the US authorities, are simply busting pimps. Peru Dave, Cuba Dave, and now Colombian Jake. The charge of pimping minors is just thrown in to justify the arrest. There is no reason to think any of these guys utilized minors. It's the same argument authorities make against prostitution itself, they are against prostitution but they couch their arguments as arguments against "[url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908][CodeWord908][/url]" and prostitution of minors. The powers that be refuse to recognize that women may choose to work in the sex field, they refuse to grant women this right.

If you say "fuck you" about a guy the authorities merely accuse of something, then you are a POS.

Colombian Jake said he was careful to work with women 18 and over, and there is no reason to doubt that.

This is a campaign against prostitution really, but at this point it is directed against pimps, as pimps are the most conspicuous.

I think we need to be careful about scaremongering. Guys who took up ColombiaJake for a tour of the centro have nothing to be concerned about. If the authorities want to nail Joe Monger, they don't need to go thru ColombiaJake to do it. I think this is all part of an effort by local authorities to clean up Poblados image. Didn't someone on the board mention a couple months ago a local authority had stated something was going to happen soon. I understand its only been several months since the policia started seriously policing Parque Lleras, now Colombia Jake, what's next?

For the US Citizens that stayed with him that have either have Global Entry, Sentri, or Nexus this could be problematic. It's possible they may get flagged or put on some type of "watch list" in the US system and when they come up for renewal face some tough questions if they get called in for an interview. Hypothetically this could occur, especially if Jake is found guilty of the charges regarding minors. This is all just speculation on my part.

In these countries and elsewhere in Latin America, pimping is illegal while prostitution is not.

The everyday monger like much of us on this board does not walk around Poblado with a harem of chicas in tow. In fact, you'd never know what any of us were there for other than the perceived conception that all foreign single males coming to Medellin are sex tourist.

I don't know if you've ever been to Medellin or have stayed in El Poblado, but this is not a place like Sosua in the Dominican Republic where you have hookers and johns hanging out on the Pedro Clisante. The closest thing you'd see to something like that is El Centro.

My chicas arrive in taxi, and leave in a taxi. Most of the folks in Medellin are oblivious to what you are doing. They may have any idea of what you are there for, but that's about it.

There's nothing to "clean up". Except the pimps. This was more than likely a coordinated effort between the US Government and local authorities. If anything you are doing involves helping connect guys with chicas AND taking a cut of the transaction, you are probably being watched.

Jake's charge is legit in pretty much every country on the planet. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. If Jake didn't have a way to get something from you, he wouldn't tell you what time it was.

Colombia is a pretty tolerant country. All recreational drug use has been legalized, gambling and prostitution are legal. All they ask is that we don't have sex with or pimp out their children. That doesn't seem like an unreasonable request. Apparently Jake felt otherwise.

So rat them out for what? I was unaware of any business Jake did below the age of consent. Unless you had dealings with him in that area, I doubt you have anything to worry about.

To be put one a watch list for what, returning home with a smile on your face? Those secret service agents in Cartagena were not prosecuted and it was well proven they had hired hookers. They violated their terms of employment and were fired, but they violated no laws and as such where not prosecuted and I doubt they ended up on any 'watch lists'. They have enough trouble keeping those lists updated for Jihadis.

Yes, you could be accused of a crime you did not commit, it happens. Best defense against that (as has been said here) is to keep a low profile. But I would suggest if you worry a lot about that, perhaps you have way to low a risk tolerance to engage in this hobby.
