Bogota Reports

There is a Terminal Del Sur at the southwest end of the city, but it's only for buses that go that way, and all buses that go there ALSO go to the main terminal. This is all OT BTW.

[b]Prelude[/b]

After visiting CTG in April and having the itch again, I decided to try out another city in Colombia. Bogota was always a place I wanted to visit from a tourist standpoint and after reading on the forum that there were beautiful women and a good mongering scene, off I went. Many thanks to World Travelers Bogota list, which was extremely helpful in exploring the scene.

[b]Travel Logistics[/b]

I flew Delta directly to BOG. The trip took around 4.5 hrs and was uneventful. Upon arriving to the BOG airport, the immigration line was long, but moved pretty quickly. Immigration was straight forward and easy as was getting through customs after collecting my luggage.

I had arranged for a Colombian English speaking guide/driver to meet me at the airport. His name is William Serna (wllsernaataol.com) and was recommended by others. I decided to use his services because this was my first trip to BOG and although I corresponded with others from the forum on meeting up in BOG, I didn’t know how that would go. So, I felt that having someone show me around at least on the first night was worth it. I would strongly recommend William for anyone visiting BOG alone with limited Spanish skills. He is a decent guy and his prices are fair—negotiate what you want and how much before your arrival. My only disappointment with William was that for some reason he was reluctant to take me to the Santa Fe area because "it was too dangerous" and although there is truth to that statement, it was the main reason I wanted a guide. I used William’s services only the first night.

Travel around BOG was inexpensive and easy with taxis. The taxis have meters and the number on the meter will correspond to an amount that is shown on a large laminated card (usually behind the front passenger seat). This is the amount you pay, but I understand that there are additional charges such as at night (after 7pm), to/from the airport, and holidays. To catch a taxi from the airport to anywhere, the best way is to get the official rate is at the "official taxi stand". This can be found on the main level (the departure level) far right after exiting the airport. Taxi to the airport from the Zona Rosa area ran about 15 mil pesos; taxi from Zona Rosa to Santa Fe (at night) ran about 9-11 mil pesos.

Finding addresses was very confusing in BOG. There are no street signs, but buildings would have numbers and it was difficult to figure out if the first number was a "calle" or a "carrera". Even the taxi drivers couldn’t find some of the addresses very easily. On the first couple of nights, I spent 20 minutes circling around my apartment in a taxi, trying to actually find the apartment building even though I gave the taxi driver the address. Good luck getting around.

[b]Lodging[/b]

I arranged to stay in a 1 bedroom apartment (Apartment Parasia #301) through Bogotacasa ([url]https://www.bogotacasa.com/Short_Term_Rentals1.html#shorttermeng1top)[/url]. It ran me 395000 pesos for 4 nights. I was very happy with this apartment and especially the location. Although really the size of a studio with sliding doors to separate the bedroom, it was walking distance to Parque 93 and was also walking distance (1 block) to Juan Pablo’s (see below). It was in a quiet, safe area with walking distance to an internet café and various restaurants. It had hot water, internet access (although for some bizarre reason, it would block me from getting on the forum), but the safe wasn’t working. It was booked through "Trevor" (English speaking) with a deposit using Paypal and the rest due upon arrival. The apartment is chica friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.

I did stay 1 night in a Santa Fe hotel. It was called El Duque ([url]www.hotelelduqueci.com)[/url]. The rate was 60 mil peso for 1 night. The room had double beds and was somewhat small. No safe, but the hotel room was very secure with cameras and double locks. No "hot" water, but there was "lukewarm" water. Wifi internet was available only during normal business hours. Nice restaurant next door and very easy to get to where the action is.

[b]Currency Exchange[/b]

The Colombian currency is the peso and in relation to the dollar, $1 was about 2200 pesos at the time I was going. This was much higher than last year about this time, but not the highest in the past 52 weeks (it got up to 2600). 1 mil is 1000 pesos. On reading the posts and advice from experienced mongers before my trip to CTG, I started a Capital One account because there were no fees associated with international ATM withdrawals and the exchange was the going exchange rate at the time. However, I found that the Capital One ATM would only work at the Citibank ATMs, but there were plenty more Citibank ATMs in BOG than there were in CTG. So, access to pesos was not an issue and I was getting the going rate without any additional fees.

[b]My Rating Scale[/b]

I am attracted to the "girl next door" look with a nice ass and stomach and all natural (no silicone). So, my rating scale is based on this.

10’s: there are no "10s" on my rating scale (when I’m sober). 9’s: These are the "hot" chicks like you see on Victoria Secret’s and on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. You easily notice them out from across the room. 8’s: These are the "pretty" girls (minimal makeup) with nice bodies (all natural) including nice ass and breasts. You notice them when they walk by. 7’s: These are "attractive" girls (maybe a little bit more makeup) with a nice ass, but maybe lacking in breasts. I am an ass man, so a girl could be attractive, have a great ass, but very small breasts and still be a "7" on my scale. I am very generous with my "7" rating. These are the girls that are attractive when you start talking to them. You notice they may either have nice eyes, a nice smile, full lips, pretty hair etc. 6’s: These are the "not ugly" girls with a nice ass with or without nice breasts. These girls are doable (without alcohol) and I would have nothing to be ashamed about if anybody found out. 5’s or lower: I would never do sober, I would hope that no one ever found out and most likely I would just want a BJ.

[b]Chica venues by Area[/b]

[b]Parque 93[/b]- Juan Pablo was only a block away from my apartment; no entrance fee; only went 1 night and had several "7s" (but not higher IMO).

[b]Zona Rosa[/b]- These strip clubs are geared toward tourists, all are clip joints with entrance fees and expensive drinks and fees to take out girls. Was being quoted 200 mil pesos, but did not partake. The last one is an "after-hours" place that the girls go to when the other places close around 3am and around the corner and walking distance. The quality in these venues wasn’t significantly better than Santa Fe.

[b]Chapeniero[/b]- 20 mil pesos for 20 minutes; 30 mil pesos for 30 minutes; 50 mil pesos for 60 minutes; you can sit a drink before taking a girl or leaving; some have porn playing. I walked in and out of several, but the two named below had the best quality with a few "7s". The last one is an "after hours" place openign around 3am.

[b]Santa Fe[/b]- This is the area where the quality wasn’t much worse than those in Zona Rosa; even some of the street girls were somewhat attractive, although none were really "GFE" type, but rather cheap sex. Atunes is a good day time option with 50 mil pesos for 30 minutes. The others had prices that varied including a fine for take out. You have to keep your eyes open in this area. You will be sized up at every corner and there are shady characters lurking around. I was pick pocketed (my fault) and a friend of mine had knife pulled out by two girls he was thinking of taking back to his apartment. Be aware and be smart in Santa Fe.

I went to Andino mall and spent an afternoon people watching. Again, I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of "regular" women in the mall. Very average looking women on the day that I went.

[b]Miscellaneous[/b]

The weather in BOG is somewhat "cool", although I found it to be comfortable. I wore a long sleeve shirt and t-shirt underneath and was very comfortable, although many of locals wore jackets or sweaters at night. The high altitude of BOG can get you winded very easily when walking around so be prepared. There are many transvestites around BOG and it takes a very keen eye to pick them out because they have all the curves of women and with makeup, some are very difficult to tell apart from women.

[b]Summary[/b]

I was disappointed in the quality of women on my trip to BOG. I thought that the quality in CTG in April when I went was significantly much better. There were others who had a very good time in BOG, but for me, I won’t plan a return trip anytime soon. Other posters have indicated that the looks quality between the Zona Rosa girls and the Santa Fe girls weren’t too different, and I have to agree with that. However, the Santa Fe girls looked like they had higher mileage and less likely to give GFE, although this may just be my experience on this trip.

You said you were disappointed in the quality of the ladies,if he couldn't hook you up with all the hot pussy you could handle then he isn't very good at his job. Especially in Bogota for crying out loud.

William is not for everyone. If you're experienced and know Spanish, you can get along just as well and cheaper without him.

But if you have limited Spanish or haven't been to BOG, it is nice to have someone waiting at the airport, to find you an apt, to hook you up, or to take you places. He has a nice full size van and charges taxi prices if you were to pay per hour. Also, it's flat out nice to have a friend in BOG. On my last trip, I had to Western Union money to myself because I lost my cards...William came in handy then.

Also, I'm doing my best to convince William that Santa Fe isn't so bad. Though Bijou's report about the pickpocketing and knives doesn't help!

I have to agree with SmokersRule. William is an option, but not for everyone. For those who are in BOG alone and don't speak spanish (and don't mind paying for a guide to get feel for BOG), William is an option. He is a decent guy and I have no regrets using him, but after the first night (and with a couple of others guys to hang out with on the remaining nights), I didn't feel like I needed his services anymore. However, he is an option for first time visitors to BOG.

I am interested in staying close to the Santa Fe action at least one night.

According to the hotel's website the sencilla rate is 110, 000 yet you say you paid 60, 000. Did you negotiate a lower rate?

We (another monger and I) showed up at the front desk and asked how much and was quoted 60 mil pesos. I'm sure you can email them and ask if you can get the 60 mil rate for 1 person. Like most things in COL, you can negotiate a better rate than what is advertised on the website (might even say that someone referred you and said it was 60 mil).

I was just in Bogota, and would highly recommend William Serna. He is a great guide and a driver, and very trust worthy. Somebody wrote his description as a large guy (6 plus foot), etc is not correct. He is of average build probably early 50's. He speaks great English and he knows lots of places.

If I go back, I would surely use him again! Hope this helps.

Go to calle 104 carrera 15 in the mezzanine 8. There are 5 or more girls and you get a nice massage, BJ, and FS for 70K pesos. Some give really nice gfe or you might get their phone number and take them out some other time.

Santa fe is ok but it is just to far from the nice spots in the north and traffic sucks in Bogota.
