Sao Paulo Reports

I will pile on and agree the receptionist at Abbobora can be a real ballbuster. I stopped in midweek recently to check the lineup, which BTW was 17 deep and impressive. But I was just doing recon for a future visit, so let the receptionist know I'd be back. She sneered at me "so olhando, huh?" I get it, they don't want people coming in all the time just to look. I did in fact come back a few days later on a Saturday with the intention to see someone, but there were only 3 girls then and they were all busy. If I was refused a lineup or suspected it might happen, I'd consider asking the receptionist to let me wait until the next customer comes in, or even tag along behind the next customer or group going in. A pain but it's a small hoop I'd jump through at this place because the roster is one of the best. Getting kicked out though is another thing. If this is happening it needs to get back to the girls so they know they are losing business.

The hotel was really good if you have status with Marriott, because they have a pretty nice lounge with breakfast (including eggs to order), where they also serve happy hour and soft drinks and filtered water available all day. I was also upgraded to one of the suites. And I got a feeling they have lots of them and upgrades aren't so hard. So that was a nice touch too. I brought a girl back one night around 11 pm and was expecting to need to register her, but we walked through the lobby and past reception to the elevators without any hassles. I hear from you guys that maybe it's good to register the girl, but in this case I was just glad to get through unnoticed, the girl came and went without issue, so it worked out fine..[/QUOTE]Your ruining the market price by over paying at bare minimum 2.5 x.

I booked my first trip to Brazil including a visit to Sao Paulo in April and I'm eager to visit the different clinicas that are mentioned here. Seems many of them are in Moema. Do you guys think that area is a safe place to stay in and walkable from clinica to clinica?

I have walked alone even after midnight without any issues.

I usually stay in the area because of easy access to cliicas and very convenient for visiting boetes.

Wierd request here; do any of you know of a grocery store or market that caters to USA expats? A friend that moved here is looking for some items not normally available in Brasil stores.

I am heading back to SP again in a few days and will be staying at a new hotel this time. I will be at the Pullman Ibirapuera. What is this area like? Is it safe to walk around alone? I'm assuming not alone at night, just like most of SP. I see that Tangara is only a 15 min walk. Is this a relatively safe trek to make? Or should I be looking at Ubers for that?

I've seen a bunch of posts recommending doing your layover at Scandallo if you have a night or early flight out of São Paulo. Just wondering, does anyone know if Scandallo has a place where you can store your luggage?

Moema is in the direct flight path of CGH airport. Those Jetplanes start at 0600 am sharp.

I walked to Tangara and it was fine. Def don't recommend walking anywhere at night.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]Yes. It has full luggage storage just like a hotel. Very professional. A lot of flights out are at 10 PM or so so you can spend your day there after you checkout and then catch your flight. Word of warning tho — leave plenty of time to get to airport. Traffic is bad even at night. And if it rains you are fucked. Almost missed my flight last time. Don't think you can squeeze by. You will be sorry.

I have stayed in Airbnbs couple of times in the past. Most of the Airbnbs are in big buildings with security and it is a hassle bringing girls, especially a different girl every day, because most expect you to pre-register the guest, so the guest details are in their system.

The airbnbs are very hit and miss and prob more miss than hit for girl friendliness.

On hotels fwiw I've found the Mercure chain to be uniformly girl friendly. They don't even make you register. Just rock on up to the room. And Windsor is notably a pain in the ass.

Looks like for my first Brazil trip, I'm going to find myself arriving in SP on the Easter Sunday in April (I'm in Rio and Iguazu Falls before that). Is this Sunday and Monday going to be a complete bust because of Easter? I'll still have Tuesday and most of the daytime on Wednesday before I fly out a 9:45 pm that night. Given this schedule, what would you SP vets suggest for strategy between the boates and clinicas during the time I'm there?

The king of the Boates Scandalo is NOT open Sunday. Casarao is open Sunday, though as previously discussed doesn't really start to rock until midnight. By 1 AM, to my eye, Casarao Sunday is plenty busy and crowded. Can def find a hottie. (Double check they are open Easter tho!

The other play for Sunday is Seeking Arrangement (or Brazil equivalent Meu Patricino) and have a paid date. It's a lot of work to find the right girl but I've had serious gems in both SP and Rio on Seeking.

A few CLínicas are open. Like Tangara.
