Average cost in Medellin Colombia
I think we are just watching this movie from different angles and seeing different stories.
When you say you go to Tijuana for five days and spend $1000. I'm thinking: I know! That's how cheap it is! 200 bucks a day!
Shit I go out to dinner and drinks with friends in Los Angeles and in out 150 dollars. No hotel, no Ubers, no girls, nothing. Just the dinner. If you can live well while traveling for 200 bucks a day that's way better than you're getting in California.
No doubt there are cheaper places in the world. I've been to some. I'm just saying, this is in our backyard. And it's cheap. Way cheaper than just a few miles north by more than half.
Here is a quick search I got online here. https://www.budgetyourtrip.com/colombia/medellin.
How much does it cost to travel to Medellin?
You should plan to spend around $28 (CO $114,023) per day on your vacation in Medellin. This is the average daily price based on the expenses of other visitors.
Past travelers have spent, on average for one day:
$16 (CO $63,462) on meals.
$3. 87 (CO $15,801) on local transportation.
$8. 89 (CO $36,272) on hotels.
Add to $25 for a casa girl per day and you get about, total expense $60/ day including women. That is $300/5 days. I am not making this up. Check online. You can argue the plane ticket but that is beyond this discussion.
Compare $60/ day vs $200/ day- or- $300/5 days vs $1000/5 days.
This is my point. Compare Tijuana to other destinations and you find Tijuana being very expensive. The average joe who mongers in the Tijuana have not seen a salary increase in years where as living expenses have gone way up, including those services he spend for in Tijuana.
I am just saying, Tijuana has gotten expensive but I still am willing to spend time there although when I go I curb my expenses as much as I can. I don't tip as much, I don't drink in the clubs as much, I am happy if I see 2 girls instead of 4 or so I used to take up. The tourist and entertainment industry is shooting itself in the foot thinking raising prices get them more income, It may not.
