And then the next day went west as far as Puerto Plata at the Maimon plaza for some fish. At night you can find local bars in many of these small towns where chicas are there drinking and listening to music. On our way back from Maimon plaza, we stopped at FOD. I met a chica there. Took her number and hooked up with her after she got off last night. Nowadays, casas don't want to risk being closed down. Checked my CS account while online here in the DR and the $2. 78 fee that SB charges was reimbursed. I withdrew yesterday at SB in PP. Both withdrawals were just tests. Plus I earned 31 cents interest on the account.
If I had used my Bank of America debit card, I would have been charged the SB atm fee (approx $2. 78). And then 3% foreign transaction fee that BOA would charge ($7 for a 10000 peso withdrawal). Since CS doesn't charge ATM fees theres no need for a 3% foreign transaction fee to show up in my account to be reimbursed.
Just a reminder for those who need to know. If you make purchases with the debit card, a 1% fee is assessed to your transaction. Many other financial inst. may charge more, like 3% when you make purchases internationally.
