As a matter of fact, when I meet them I ask about going to their place. Some times it's okay. Sometimes it's "no air conditioner; only fan". Most of the time I get the room mate or multiple girls in their room sleep story. I tell them that I don't care and that I actually like a lot of girls. If they insist on my place then I tell them that my girlfriend is at my place sleeping or that she comes home from work at a certain time, but she likes ladies too so I think it will be okay. They are usually fine with it, then when I open the door I act like I'm saying something to my girlfriend and I turn on the light and when they see nobody is there they know I am full of shit.

I have been in Bangkok for a few weeks now on my first trip. Two chance encounters:

1. While walking on Soi 7 with a girl from the Beer Garden, I saw across the street a couple from my home town, which is very small, about 12, 000 people. Then I remembered that they usually travel to Southeast Asia about this time every year. I just kept holding onto my temporary girlfriend's hand like we were old buddies and waved at them.

2. While shopping (alone) in The Mall Bangkapi I ran into one of my favorite massage grils. We gave each other a kiss on the cheek and chatted for a moment, then went our own ways. This mall is very far from Sukhumvit, but is near where a lot of the girls live (I think).

But what about having your glasses stolen, especially when you are severely handicapped without them? Hopefully no WG will read this, it might give them some ideas.

I paid her the money since she seemed honest and on the up and up and I wanted to show I was trustable.

Well, right before we got started she began playing with her phone and insisted we allow her boyfriend listen in on speaker while we followed through with the date. I was not going to have this. The date went south with the boyfriend on the line. She would not give me back my monney back so I calmly reached for her prescription glasses and told her to leave my room, now, and when she is outside the hotel I will then give her glasses back. She took the bait.

I closed the door on her after she exited the rear door and I told her through the glass I would not give her her glasses back unless she gives me my money back. She threatened to go to the hotel front desk and clam all kinds of bad stuff. It was me calling her bluff against a pair of $100 glasses, plus the pain in the ass activities she had to jump through to get another pair. Needless to say we both lost. She did not get her glasses and I did not get any money back. Stalemate.

And started to run into the woods. Then he asked for 50 Euros to give them back. I am (partly) ashamed to admit that I paid and left as quickly as I could.

The suggestion to have a very visible fake goldchain available seems a wise one.

Yesterday I was in one of the big department stores, struck up a conversation with a nice lady. It was interesting how she went to great lengths to keep me from looking at the ring on her finger. She was middle aged and Thai. I love it when I lean in close and whisper something a little risque, watching their little hands shake from nervousness.

I got her card and digits. Doubtful I'll report it as she has a very professional life.
