I just returned from TJ. I crossed the border on foot three times. Each night, upon my return, I got out of my cab, and prepared for an encounter with the local Mexican Police, lurking in the darkness. Each night, I went back to my hotel room pleasanty disapointed. I did get harassed by a waiter in AB one night for standing near the waiter station at the bar (right next to hottie central) for too long. Fuck him! From now on, I'll just by my drinks from the bartender.

Well, I think it's polite for California to ask first. Realize that you will pay in one form or another. If a "TAX" put on the growing grass on every lawn in California, that'll do it but then it will get tied up on court for 10 years.
No, the quickest, most direct way to raise the money is to charge a "re-entry fee" to cover "overhead costs."
I'd pay $5.00 to spend an hour less in line. So maybe they should have the regular lanes, the Sentry lane and then the Pay lane. Maybe charge only vehicles that do NOT have US plates, or non citizens etc. Somehow I think things would even out a bit and we'd all get across a bit sooner.
Like it or not, the old saying that "You get what you pay for," is true everywhere and although most will argue that we DO pay for it, we are obviously not paying enough. Sooner or later it's going to hit the wallet. Later doesn't look good because NOW doesn't look good as far as traffic is concerned.
How will this affect mongering whichever way it goes? It won't. Not one bit.

One thing I realized especially after moving to TJ is that I didn't know shit about Latinas. Understading a bit about their culture helps a lot.
I was referring to civilians. In the Zona, all you need to do is hold your wallet over your head and you'll be surrounded in no time.
Mexican girls are into their sensuality and sexuality, they are much better at it than gringas. There are smart girls and stupid girls. Some will go at the drop of a hat while others take conditioning. Learning to distinguish between the two will be an important first step in breaking ground in the civilian world.
What insults the latina in the civilian world is the notion by gringos that any of them will go to bed immediately, that all they want in their life is a gringo. This is not true. You'd be surprised how many could care less.
Latinas as smarter than you think, they can size you up in a second and they will decide whether you are "cool" or just another gringo looking for a quick fuck, wham-bam, thank you ma'am. As you go down scale you'll find more easier to fuck for some form of exchange.
When you see or meet a Latina for the first time, you can't show any interest in their body. You need to talk to THEM first and if things go well conversationally speaking, then you can start to "notice" them a bit more. I find that this works very well.
One day while sipping a coffee in a shop in Otay, I was completely overwhelmed by a girl who walked into the place. When I saw her I sat back and put both hands over my heart and said: "Oh my God." but in a very decent and respectful way. She smiled, said hello and was very pleasant. I had no intentuion of making a move on her and I did nothing (beyond the initial reaction) to suggest to her anything racy would happen. I didn't chase her down, make any off color remarks, I was in no way dis-respectful. I immediately returned to my conversation with my partner. She got the message that I was impressed and she appreciated it. She gave me a nod and a wink as she was leaving as much to say: "Thanks for noticing." Very cool.
Could I have played that further? Perhaps. I think if I had maintained the respect and took it slow I could have made progress. You see, she picked up that I was respectful FIRST. And that's what helped the ice break.
So looking for civilian action means you have to behave yourself and be nice. That will enable you to MEET girls. Lose the Arrogant American image quickly. Tell them you are from Canada or something. Once they see you are for real and MAYBE you are "cool," you can go on to the next level.

Hey guys its me. Got some bad news (for me at least). My friends are acting very homosextual lately and don't wanna go to TJ. One is Extremely broke while the other wants to save money (this is the same friend we always buy a lady for cause hes broke aswell). Dude you could save money and go to TJ wtf. Anyway I'm probably the only well off one, so I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on going as I have never gone alone. I love going to TJ with my friend its so much fun, but now I got to be independent and just go. I'm so pissed. Maybe you guys could tell me your experiences going solo. I plan on going this weekend either Fri. After work 530pm or Sat/Sun.

The totality of what you don't know CJ, about ANYTHING related to women would easily fill the Grand Canyon and beyond. This has been well documented ironically enough by none other than you yourself over the years.
Lest anyone naive or new get the wrong idea about your prowess or lack there of with women, here is a small sampling. I especially like the "respect" part of your current post regarding women and losing the "arrogant American image." Allow me to demonstrate.

I go alone all the time. Park in the lot, walk across. If it's still light out, say before 7:30, walk to the zona and save $5. No biggie.
The upside is your're free to wander around anywhere without having to keep track of anybody. The downside is you have no one to hang with. So, find a chica and keep her company! :D
Taxi back to the border whenever you're ready.

So when I have to go by myself, I just try to strike up a conversation with some other mongers in a group (lone mongers are often more 'mission oriented' and less friendly). Weekends at Adelitas usually works. Offer/ask for recommendations/warnings about particular girls. Swap war stories. This makes the whole trip a lot more fun.
I'm up for heading down as a wingman with you, but this weekend is bad. And my PMs are not active yet.

I found it absolutely hilarious that they offer the service, so having a picture taken with my buddies and the gals was a big laugh. It is ridiculous. Do people want to take these back and put them into their mongering scrapbooks? I did bring the pictures back and showed some friends that did not go. They did not believe that the girls were that hot. After seeing the pictures, they went on the next trip. If you do this, I suggest keeping the pictures somewhere other than your house where your wife/gf could find them.
I also bought one of the shirts with the AB name and logo on it. When I got back to the US, I wondered what I was thinking. I know if I wear it, someone is going to come up to me and make a comment. I might have a hard time explaining to my wife how I ended up with a t-shirt from a *****house.
Now, the guys walking around selling the roses. This is where I draw the line. I have no intention of purchasing one of these.

I for one have found the information CJ gives out quite useful, especially to newbies. I had to figure a lot out on my own before I found this site. I came up with my own set of rules and philosophies and found the advice CJ gives out is great. I have personally seen many gringos in action acting like total a-holes in the zone. CJ is just trying to set some of these folks straight. He offers up his opionion and does not claim to know everything. Living in TJ and visiting there (as I recall) for almost as long as I have been alive, he knows much more than me or most of us.
Also, he seems to post often here and I don't think they pay him for his advice. He inspires me to check in once in a while and not lurk, but try to give back to the community.
Now, lets try to play nice.
I agree with Country John on having a chica go away until she is no longer mad. No way are you going to have a rational conversation with a mad chica. A lot of men leave the house if chica is mad until she cools off. If you want an emotionally charged argument, stick around. I do not believe in physical abuse toward women and staying around can lead to the temptation.

What, people aren't allowed to learn and grow from their mistakes?
I respect CJ for his knowledge about TJ and the current events going on. Although, I never really thought much about what he has to say about Tj chicas. Well the non prostitute chicas anyways. But that's not to say that his information is completely useless. He's given me some info that I've used and turned up with some good results. He's not perfect, you're not perfect, I'm not perfect, nobody's perfect. If we where, we wouldn't be here talking about aquiring sex by paying for it.
As for Depeche Mode, (get a new name, Depeche Mode is old) just go by yourself. I've gone to Tj only by myself. And I like that I don't have to be looking out for anyone. I can go where I please and don't have to be bothered about needing to leave because others already got what they wanted. When I do go Tj I make a day of it. I get there in the afternoon and walk to the bars. I check out the action in the street and wink at some of the girls. I walk through the bars to see the current action. I'll sit and watch some of the badly done strip shows. If I get bored I go exploring Tj by foot. Of course I usually stay in the tourist areas. I try different eateries or taco stands, Gawk at all the useless trinkets and souvenirs being sold on the streets, watch the Native american or Mariachi shows near the arc. I just keep myself busy.
It's usually towards the night when I return to the bars for some real fun. I'm sure you know what I mean. Of course, that's me. I've always enjoyed spending time by myself. I've never really been a group outing kind of person. Just try going by yourself. You already know the ropes anyways. So you should be able have fun by yourself. After all, you go to TJ to spend time with the chicas not your homo friends. :p
And oh yeah, at least now you won't be having group sex with your buddies. Again, the homo thing comes into play. :D
