I'm now in Quito more than 6 weeks and I can tell that there are some changes.

Most important is that most chongos with prices up tioll now from 8 bucks now have a 10 bucks tarif: 122, Swinsito, Blues, 4033

Swinsito has a new interior but the rooms are still the same. The entree fee here is now 3 dlrs.

VIP International at San Gregrorio also has new interior and there are working now some 15 girls (most from the Ec. Coast but some Colombianas and de Rep Domicana too) There are more rooms now however still without any comfort.

Some 3 weeks ago there was a wapened robbery at Blues at a Saturday evening. Take care!

Just flown from Medellin to Quit "LAN" caught up with me old girlfriends from medellin working at the DOLLHOUSE and Extasis then drove to Coca (on Rio Napo 6 hours from Quito) and travelled down the river on a fast boat (Paisa girlfriend and I)from Coca to Nuevo Rocafuerte, Parque Yasuni, swam with the fresh water dolphins, then two more nights camping on the river until Mazan (15 minutes crossing by motorbike from the Rio Napo to the Rio Amazona, then 40 minutes in a fast boat to Iquitos, Peru.

Do you feel as (relatively) safe walking on the streets, esp. at night, in Quito now that there is a State of Emergency? What changes have you observed? Is it just a matter of avoiding walking through a middle of a political demostration? I postponed my trip last year due to electrical issues in Ecuador. I'm starting to wonder if returning is a good idea....

Do a google search for the british govt. equivalent of our travel.state.gov. I forgot what is it called but they had an excellent update about the current situation. I will use that site from now on over travel.state.gov Do a google search for travel warnings ecuador then click on the british site.

I was chatting with a girl from guayaquil while it was going on and she mentioned there were robberies and looting. The next day or so she said everything was back to normal. Basically crooks will use any opportunity or lull in policing to commit crimes. The same thing happened in LA and New Orleans.

*All of these countries teeter on the brink of disaster. That is why we get the prices we do for PFP. Ecuador can be prone to serious natural disasters as well which would trump any political turmoil.

arrived monday morning, with a powerful jetlag, sleep deprived and short-breathed by the altitude, i had to concede on the first night. i knew about the altitude, but the combination was a real killer.

on tuesday, however, i hit the jackpot. my hotel is a few meters away from guajira, and i went there at five pm. place is really nice, it looks a bit like a bar and a living room together. prices confirmed, entry 2, girl 20.

i have been there for a while, trying to get the vibe. after one hour and two beers, i categorised the girls more or less as 'old and chubby, young and chubby, young and good looking'. guess what, type three is the minority.

altogether, my opinion on the whole lot is the following:

quito is worth visiting, definitely. for an european monger, 20 minutes for 20 dollars is an oustanding deal, despite the hit-and-miss constraints. quality is rare, though, excluding karol, services are standard, despite the fact that ecuadorian girls know how to fuck. they take a well endowed man without complaints, and they are specialists in doggy style - they spread their legs, lower their ass and take it all, full power. if you are looking for extras, though, you must pay, and you don't know what you get. besos (gfe) are very rare and unconvincing, anal is generally on offer but bbbj can be tricky - girls are very health conscious, and bare-back activities (including daty) are looked upon with some concern. finding a girl who actually enjoys it is really difficult - these are pro's, and well experienced ones as well.

however, with 100 dollars (approx. 70 euros at the time of writing), you can potentially have 8-9 girls for 15 to 20 minutes each time. potentially does not mean practically. between extra's, drinks, entrance and taxi, i guess you could get 6. anyway back home, for 100 dollars i get maybe two sessions with low-range rld girls. a hell of a difference.

i do not suggest the lower end of the scale, based on the touch-me experience. the place is dirty, the customers also, and the girls can be ill. if you want to go that way, i highly recommend using a condom for everything and refraining from bbbj - the chance to go back home with an unwelcome feeling down below is high, and quite frankly it is not worth it. the price differential is 10 dollars between good and very bad - just a no-brainer imho.

my advice is the following, with in mind foreigners coming from us or europe:

1. book a hotel in the vicinity of the action. it will save you some (very cheap) taxi ride and especially time - traffic in quito is no joke. you will also be in a better position to invite the girl of your choice to come to your hotel. if you do your homework (one basic thing any monger must be good at), you will get yourself a nice spot, surrounded by options and safe.

2. do not drink too much in these places and in general. booze is cheap, and they push you to drink, but they will take profit of you, both the bar and the girls. besides, do not forget you are at 2800 meters above sea level - even after a few days, performances will be impaired v. what you are used to (unless you are a mountain person yourself), and alcohol does not help. i am myself a reasonable beer drinker, with 50-100 cc a day, but in quito one beer would have a noticeable impact. so, if you want to get wasted, mind your money and, in general, do not count too much on high performances. also remember that alcohol reduces your alertness, and to go around in quito by foot in confusional state is a big 'hit me' advertisement for any criminal you would come across.

3. stay out of troubles. the local newspaper yesterday reported that, from the beginning of the year, there have been almost 500 assaults on people and properties, in a single district - so not the whole city. laptops are particularly looked after and there are a lot of weapons around. mind your steps.

4. use only licensed taxis, and be prudent with flashing out cameras, watches and what else - quito is not a safe spot as a whole. taxis go by the meter at day, but i heard at night it goes by negotiation.

5. the tradition in ecuador is that guys approach girls, not the other way around like in many other parts of the world. so girls are mostly waiting, hoping to be approached. they get tired to sit down and bored to hell.

6. business is slow. in all places i have been to, i noticed that most of the action is represented by guys drinking beer and looking at girls, but there is relatively little bed action taking place v. the amount of men around. all girls complain, and i wonder how do they get a decent living. this means that in theory you can negotiate... but in practice, these are pro's, and the general mindset is that they could earn nothing comfortably sitting and chatting with each other instead of having to work for a few bucks. prices are already rock-bottom, and despite the moaning none of the girls i met was in real distress.

7. if you don’t speak any spanish, you are in troubles. none of the girls i interviewed could speak and/or understand english, not even at basic level. the situation could be different in the expensive nightclubs, but there you have to cough up 100/150 dollars for 30-45 minutes. so come prepared - either some basic spanish or a large wallet. apart from pro's, it is difficult to find anybody speaking any english anywhere, which is a real shame. a country that does not speak english is dead at international level.

8. surprisingly, a lot of colombians are coming to ecuador. they are attracted by the dollar, which apparently is considered way better than the local colombian peso. i did not quite get the reasoning behind this strong preference, but that is the trend. so you will find regularly colombian chicas in ecuadorian brothels.

9. if you find a girl you like, i advise you to stick with her. overall quality is low, despite the big-breasted standard. good attitude is rare. while exploring can be fun, it eventually means to pay a lot of money in entry tickets, observing a lot of girls who could not care less if you are alive or dead, and ending up having relatively expensive gym sessions, but not 'real' sex. with that i mean no passion, no warmth, and an experience that most of the times i forget in less than a day. if you like, as i do, gfe, good luck. kisses are possibly more rare than anything else. my attempts to convince girls to be my 'novia' for some time were not even understood - their view of things is that you pay, they condom you, suck you, get banged for a few minutes and... next please.

10. another aspect to consider is that girls are typically low educated and not very smart. they are used to volatile sex sessions with as many men as they can, and they do not have a clear picture regarding the advantages of having a few, loyal and frequent guests. so if you hope to convince a girl that she should discount you on the basis of the fact that you will return, think twice - it is not going to fly in most cases. and, before you get a girl to abandon the wham-bang-thank-you-mam approach, you might have to pay a lot of propinas, or be very lucky. a real shame, i feel. as said before, these girls can fuck, and it would take just a little bit more to make of them great lovers.

11. most girls are single mothers, according to my experiences approx 80% of them. girls here do not become hookers to buy trendy phones, and most of them just need to feed themselves and their children. if asked, they will proudly tell you how many kids they have. however, genetics help - i could not find one girl whose pussy was devastated by pregnancy. stretch marks are normal.

12. you don't really need a gf hotel - action takes place in chongos. my hotel was flexible in terms of visitors, short stay was allowed, and long stay would have required to know the name of the visitor and pay something like 6 dollars (i had a reservation for one person only). but again, why bother? you can fuck your way from 11 am to 4-6 am the day after, without the need to risk it by bringing a girl at your place.

13. about the above - stealing is the second sport after football in ecuador. robbers are everywhere, and if you decide to invite a low-priced 'deal' in your hotel room do not be surprised to find that your comb is gone - everything here has a value, and if it can be stolen, it will.

And it was open from noon to 10 pm. 15 girls on avg there daily. I was in Quito last weekend. Bad luck, due to the census and leys eco (dry weekend) all chongos closed.

Yesterday (Fr.) I tried Nightcats at 10 something, but it was closed and it looked as if it was closed forever. Last week, I was in Quito. As it turned out, it was not one of my best mongering experiences. First of all, the weekend of 27 and 28 November was a disaster due to the census. On both days, all chongos in Quito were closed. This was unexpected. I assumed that they would only be closed on Sunday, which was the day of the census. That would not have been a big problem as most places close on Sundays anyway.

Unfortunately, things were not back to normal the following days. I was surprised to find almost all places in La Mariscal closed. And they were really closed: with fat chains and padlocks. Just to mention the places I went to and found closed: Guajira, Gata Caliente, Coffee Bar 415, Diosas, NightKats, El Swing, Swingcito. This really sucked because I picked my hotel to be conveniently close to these chongos. Perhaps all these places were closed in the week of my visit because of the census in the first weekend and the 'Festival de Quito' in the weekend that followed?

Further North, most places were open after the census weekend. 'Touch Me' seemed open but there were such shady types hanging out in front of it that I didn't care to enter.
