I am disappointed to have to admit that whenever I come across foreigners, especially Americans, in Brazil. I pretend to not understand and I move away as quickly as I can. Mostly it's just a disinclination to go through the expense and inconvenience of traveling in order to hang around people who aren't from the destination. This sort of thing is also in the back of my mind. I can only think of a very few instances of running into it over the years. It's just not something you want to be associated with.

That being said I have socialized with Australians on separate occasions in Europe and Asia and had lots of fun. Aussies are great gents to hang out with.

Hitting the clubs, not to mention dinner, is generally more fun if you have a wingman or two. It helps to split bottle fees (if you're inclined that way), plus you can have a small party (her friends, your friends). Of course some nights one feels like being a lone wolf. There is certainly more flexibility in that approach.

You have to be selective. I would for example, wingman with chicago85, anytime, good man. Had many good sorties into perola negra, and a few other zona sul clubs, from bases at the luxe hotels nearby, and classico beach club.

We know strengths and weaknesses. For example, Chicago could benefit from a soccer shirt from say German and Italian dominated porto allegre or rio grande do sul. Even in public transport, with said shirt from those areas, he would be well advised to just not talk, point to ear. Smile, flex, and carry on. The better beach club is K08, which is a serious kite surfing club. Next to classico.

Went to Casarao yesterday Sunday 18, just writing this because it finnally happened to me. Entered the club around 10:30 Pm. Not a lot of customers but I chatted with 2 garotas in which they suggested a threesome. I declined and then went with one of them for overnight. She initially asked for 1500 however In countered with 1000. She said she could accept it. So off we went to my hotel. She asked for payment before the deed. No problem, done.
