Sometimes they would ask if they could take a shower in your room or buy them a drink. They preyed on the "lazy" mongers staying at the hotel. The worst part of them hanging around was that a few times when one of my DC dating site girls would come over, it would be awkward for me when I would check them in and the skanks would be hanging out on the couches in reception or on the front steps of the hotel giving me a funny look. My DC girls didn't like it either seeing all these skanks hanging around.

It can pay too, to be nice to them, you may get better treatment! For the record, I'm not Belgian, I just live there, and yes, my Spanish is already good. Talking about moving onto something more challenging than Sosua, when I was in Santo Domingo in March for a week, I called one chick from Badoo that I just had to meet, she was very cute and had such a great body. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I took her out twice for drinks and one meal, paid for her taxi's to and back from Santo Domingo Este, and had my way with her on the second date. May see her again when I come back.

There's a shortage of nice apartments to rent (at a reasonable price anyway), and to get a quality hotel or apartment you have to pay good money. On the Costa del Sol in Spain I have rented gorgeous places (Diamond resorts) for 35 Euro a night, try getting that in Sosua, Santiago or Santo Domingo. The only reasonably priced hotel in downtown Santiago is Hotel del Sol, and it's room are small and basic, still costs over $ 60 a night. Club Residential in Sosua are looking for around $ 1000 per month for one of their Condo's off season.

The hurricane season is taken in stride down there, not hyped up like it is in the press up north. I've been down there during at least two, and though Pedro can flood, it soon drains away.

Early in the week was the worst. Probably being at the height of the recession was the cause of this. I wrote a big report about my last trip there in March a few pages back by the way.

I just wanted to say that life would be simpler if we were not to get trapped into that usual and useless morass speaking of "pro" women. Regarding being nice and getting dividends for that, well, I completely agree. Empathy is a great human virtue!

The other expensive thing is the car rental, what with gas price and their bleeding tax.

The skanks may be superior compared to what you can get in LA, but were talking Sosua here and if you venture out, speak some Spanish, and have a little game you can do far better than going with one of the skanks that hang out there.

When I stayed there two years ago there were some qualtiy puta's hanging out, nice afternoon delight. With the changes in policy, no puta's and the hardcore PM street action, Sosua goes off my radar. Prefer Curacao with nice Columbians, also safer for mongers.

You can stay stay at rockys for 30 a night. In edit place s are there for 40 just depends on your taste and standards.

Cost of living in Santiago is much less than in Sos. Overall in Sos. And area one can pay from 200 peso per night to $2,000 per night, it's all up to you. Hookers pay daily 500 to 700 pesos, monthly rates are around 6,000 pesos. Long term rates for visitors are $3,000 - $6,000 per annum and up, again it's all up to you. The lowest I have been paying $15 per day and the highest $65 per day on short term. The are some bargains further away from the strip, in Charamicos and area. Whole houses can be rented very affordable on long term basis.

It appears that there are not many choices for me during the daytime in Sosua. I already have my flight tickets to Puerto Plata.

Do you have any suggestions about other locations? Santo Domingo or other places in DR where the chances are better?

On a couple of occasions I have taken a buddy down there, and my GF has arranged to bring in girlfiends from out of town to meet him. So now its bye bye Sosua. I had a great time especially with the seaside activities. I will miss seeing all those hoards of "guys with game" who have been swarming all over Sosua the whole time I've been there. Now its onto the casas of SDO. Will report under SDO.

I read the same post before my first trip to the DR. I am glad I did not listen to the negative comments about how it was not like the old days. It is all new days now and it so far has been great for me and should be for you to.
