You guys who are bad mouthing them probably have never had any time with SW's in BKK or Pattaya. Let me guess, you think the Gogo girls are cleaner and more honest. ?
Some of the best experiences I have had in P4P, have been with these girls. I will take some LT after spending time with them.

Free sex? I don't know any women who go online with the intention of finding someone just for sex unless it's a site such as adultfriendfinder or something of the like. Most free sex is usually just a spontaneous t hing between consenting adults. As for DIA, I'm never able to get many Thais from it. It serves a better purpose when looking for p4p or free in the Philippines. Enough for now. Damn smartphone sux.
As others have stated here both now and earlier it is far more easier ways to get sex than signing up with dating sites girls. I could not agree more. But as for me I like the process pre travel to chat, write and get to know some possible gems I can meet up with when I like to add normality into my travel.
The "get to know process" can take quite some time so it is time consuming. Most of the girls signing up I believe have some sort of actual / real wish to find a nice farang and create a steady relationship. As I have a few regulars and almost everyone is picked from datingsites I think I can say I know how this works (atleast for me) and I find most of them willing to skip their thoughts of long term relationship after a while (into the get to know process). Someone I am sure lie to me as well and are P4P due to various situations maby not streetwalkers but maby works in Gents clubs or simular (I have my thoughts regarding this but have realy not put a lot of investigation into it as I get what I want). Some have also nice apartments and are in Thai standard doing quite well. But how they get their money I do not know except they claim having real jobs. I can not blame them for lying as I do a fair bit of lying myself (as I am in relationship in Norway and so on).
I find you can spot the P4P girls inside datingsites as of which time they are logged on and compare that to when we know P4P are most active in real life (then they are logged off). When they get home 3-4am in the morning Thai time they log in again (that is a sign she is P4P). You have that going to clubs gap where they can not stay active, hehe.
Bar and club pics in general from the girl means she is a party girl which again most certainly means she is not new to this P4P game (there are of course exceptions but traditional Thai girls don't put out pics like this).
Almost nude pics and so on also gives me the impression that here we have a girl who I can fuck for money.
I also have encountered girls having the most boring and religious profile who are realy faking their beeing "good" girls. They are great actresses. But I know decent traditional thaigirls, young ones, and if they can give me a blow job from here to heaven the first time they taste my banana I know there is something wrong, hehe. Traditional Thaigirls almost never ever come straight to your hotel as for the first date (this will almost certainly means she has done this before and she will fuck for money). First off, thanks to Syzygies and Mr Enternational for answering my telephony-related questions. I know that regular members of a forum get tired of answering the same questions over and over again from naive travelers like myself. This November will mark my first trip to Thailand, but I have had a fair bit of international experience, and I have been using the international dating sites for years, so I will chime in with my two American cents.
Outside of Thailand, my feeling is that the majority of the women on the legitimate dating sites (cupid sites etc) are legitimate, rather than pros. I have corresponded with many and traveled deep into the heart of Mexico and Central and South America to meet some of them. This is true in other countries which, similar to Thailand, are known destinations for guys like us (DR, Colombia etc). However, other posters are correct in that a person must invest time in getting to know the girl before meeting her in person, in order to set the stage. This was fine, back in the good old days before chat became so widespread and you could simply email back and forth. Nowadays, most people are into the web camera chat thing and, while it can be fun, takes up a lot of time. One woman I knew in the Philippines would expect me to be online every night and if / when I wasn't she would call my mobile number to ask where I was (usually watching TV or out screwing around). One way around this is to set expectations up front: you only have a certain amount of time per week to chat because of your work, business travel etc. Also, depending on where you are in the world, the time zone differences can make it very challenging.
However, if you do put in a good faith effort up front at chatting, getting to know the girl etc. Then it tends to pay a handsome dividend down the road when you first meet in person. Out of all the Latinas I have ever met through a dating site (and remember that Latinas are from conservative countries, with strong catholic backgrounds) , I have never once NOT had sex on the first date. I looked into it, but figured that I didn't have enough time in Thailand to really do all my mongering, siteseeing, drinking and have to deal with a series of first dates. This trip is really designed to see if I like Thailand, the culture, the people and the women. If I do, then I will be back soon enough and at that point I will set up some dates with local women.
Do any guys on this site have experience with just meeting non-pro women in Thailand outside of a dating site (bars, clubs, shops, street etc)? Some guys have luck with that approach, it seems, but I've found that language can often be an issue. In any event, I'd like to hear back from some of the more experienced players on whether this approach is likely to work at all. I would like to at least try and give it a shot, and of course I will report back on it, so any advice on interacting with the locals is most welcome.

There are ofcourse well educated girls out there speaking kind of perfect english as in business women, tourist related jobs (and I am not thinking about working with our "sport") , airlinestaff and so on. To get them is in my opinion as difficult or easy as it is in my or your country and its foundation is based out of normal mechanisms (boy meet girl) , looks, attitude, chemistry etc. Not likely to happen anything first meet with normal traditional Thai girls. But as a younger breed of women are raised in big international cities around the world (lets say Bangkok in our case) girls upbringing can be somewhat different here than out on the countryside. You can ofcourse try to visit places where Thai people go out to dance / drink like Bangkoks RCA area. I have scored there but have to admit I was joining one friend of mine working in Bangkok who also speaks some Thai. The girl was part of the group of people from his office.
Another time I was doing pure "sharity work" as I was in Tawandang German Brewery (Rama III or sth) a nice place were Thai people have social or business related meetings. This evening, approx 1 year ago, some people from The Good Child Foundation was having some sort of meeting and they did bring some teenagers with downs syndrome to this place. After a while and with no "dark" intentions I found myself dancing with some of them (girls and boys) and I did see that draw some attention from the leaders and they were smiling at me. To make a long story short I did end up meeting one of the leaders of this group and we did have a nice time also sexualy. She was Thai but was kind of international so she knew the game. She tought I was such a nice guy who gave downs syndrome people attention. So by pure luck you can pick also normal girls from the right settings.
She was atleast totaly and utterly very normal girl who simply fell in love with me. That was ofcourse a bit to much for me and I could not handle that very well as I cherish my hobby (mongering) a great deal. So I ended the hole situation in a decent manner. I did not want to hurt her feelings by cheating or lying.
But there are stories of people just walking up to beautiful girls on the streets or in the malls and they fix themself some sexual interaction. I have tried this at MBK shopping mall but in all honesty (I think I have worte this in a report long time ago) I did not find her to be none P4P after all. Blue Nose[/QUOTE]Yes, its possible to meet non p4p girls outside of dating sites, but its not really easy. There are a few obstacles that stand in your way. The biggest one is language barrier as your typical Thai girl doesn't speak very good English or might speak a little bit but is too shy to attempt to hold a conversation. Another is a good chance the object of your desire is with her friend (s) , and while she might be interested in you she might not want to appear a **** in front of her friends and just brush you off. Another one is most good girls stray away from the typical farang haunts.
While a guy may get some free sex from a girl from the bars or clubs, there's a strong chance she's a p4p girl. Just because she didn't charge you doesn't mean she's not a hooker on the DL, kinda like meeting a pilot and not saying she's a pilot just because she didn't fly you around in Boeing 777. FWIW, as Skogis alluded to its pretty easy to tell if a girl is a hooker and they'l give you lots of clues- free during the day, evasive when you ask them about their job, say they work in beauty salons to make fast money, pics of them in farang nightclubs, passport full of Singapore stamps, etc.

But Thailand is way more complicated than it looks and the Real Thailand isn't Bangkok or Pattaya. If you want to get a feel for the people or the Culture with a trip to Bangkok, you won't get much intel.

Unless you are very good looking and have money to blow, you won't get the pretty Girls. Street Encounters, chatting up shop girls is possible but you need a really good "game plan" because regular thai girls won't let themselves be seen flirting openly with a Foreigner in public.
Speaking a bit of Thai helps a lot.
As you said you don't have much time, then don't waste it running after "hard to get in a limited time" pussy and stick to P4P.

Thanks Josh, I'll give it a shot. I've seen the ones with "generous, supportive" etc. On Craigslist and the like but haven't noticed that on the dia or love links sites. The ones that state they want a serious relationship, don't want to be your holiday girlfriend etc. , when I chat with they, many say they're looking for a husband and if I'm not looking for a wife to not waste their time.
I'll keep trying, it's a numbers game.

Thanks to everybody for your thoughtful replies regarding the dating scene in Thailand, ex dating sites. With only a short visit, and a lack of understanding of Thai culture (which, I can appreciate, is much more complex than it may seem to a foreigner) I think I'll stick to mongering for now. The language issue has also tripped me up before, even in places where the women are generally much more receptive to being approached than here in the West.
I will be arriving in BKK on November 18th, staying at the Nana Hotel for three nights, then heading to Pattya on the 21st for two nights, staying at the Penthouse.
