Its the number at the end of the quote below, 1500 euro per month. That's 375 euro's per week, 75 euro's per day. Assuming an eight hour shift that's a little over 9 euro's per hour. That might be 'normal' for someone working a menial job at the lowest pay scale but there's no way that's the "average" salary of Europe. If I google the average yearly salary in the US I get a straight answer of just over $50 k. I did find the map on this link interesting, it shows the average monthly income and you can see in the map grid what countries are paying far less than others.

Funny that some guy here will be happy to see me in prison, soon or later (then I'm the bad guy) , when I'm actually trying to give advices to avoid jail and problems.

Being in Thailand for almost 34 years I never had problems with girls, as I wrote before, I've always treated them with dignity and respect. I can quietly say instead that the majority of foreigners who had problems with the law was due to wrong women relationship (when the things go to right way). In other cases I've seen farangs lose anything, jumping down from the View Talay building, disapper in some isanian village, shot death by their wife's Thai boyfriend (like Steve Miller, a Kiwi guy I knew who has been killed in 2006).

I really don't understand why some people here are so "oversensitive" when the issue goes to "don't fall in love with hookers".

Did I say something wrong? Do these guys fall in love? Sorry, is this a World Sex Guide, a forum where people like me pay to have sex, or a marriage dating forum?

Have I been burned out before? Not personally, but I've seen many friends or people I know who have been to. That's where my advice come from. She told her Thai boyfriend to tell Steve to hand over 800 k or die? Or she previously asked Steve for 800 k and he wouldn't give it to her so she put out a hit on Steve? In either case, Steve would have had time to go to the police or take matters in his own hands.

That being said the success rate with "good girls" is really not that much better. Yes, some couples have been together for many years, but I would say for the most part that is due to the man being far more flexible and being able to adapt and of course foot the bill.

And as the story shows, it is easier than most think to get away with such a crime. Another less foreigner or two does not mean anything at all in Asia. Local families trump the foreigner every time. [/QUOTE]This is a Catch 22 situation. Obviously if a guy lives in Thailand and does not work a girl can easily assume he has some sort of sound financial base. Given the Visa requirements the Thai government has now outed the man that he has a minimum of 700 k baht in order to retire here. There is no way to hide that from a girl.

Personally I am not in Thailand to get a girlfriend. In fact, the last thing I want is a girlfriend or a wife in Thailand or anywhere else.

Let's take an average working girl who works solely at iBar. Let's say she works 5-7 days per week and gets barfined roughly half the time. So we have 3 sessions at 2000-2500 each = 6k-7500 per week = 300-375k per year. 800k is attainable in 2+ years. Now if we're talking high end gogo girls like I go for where Japanese pay them 5-10k per night and they have a Sponsor, 800k is easily achieved in 1 year. No girl with that income is coming after me personally for my tiddly winks money.
