Some top bars in South Jakarta
I'm in my very early 30's, not sure what's considered old in Indonesia LOL maybe 50+? I'll check out Zoo and H Club. I'm guessing you mean The Cocktail Club when you say TCC. Any tips and tricks on how to game them there? Thanks, sucks Wednesday night is ladies night everywhere. Gives me FOMO on deciding the best spots since I like to bar hop to find the vibes. What time is best to get to any club? Want to get there right before it gets packed or get the bracelets / markings so I can just walk right in later when everything gets good.
A few people asks me on PM about nicer bars and clubs in South Jakatta.
TBH. I don't know what top 5 bars are in south Jakarta. Remember, south Jakarta is more affluent, beautiful people and so I don't knows how easy to pick up indo lasses, unlike other mainstream bars and clubs where less wealthy go. Some of the nicer places are TCC, Pantja, H club, CosmoPony, Kilo Lounge, Salthy Fish (new one), Anthem (new club), Koda, Do Not Distub. 25 HR hotel. Oddbird. But these are classy place with nicer cocktails.
Bringing in prescriptions
Going to be bring in Prep and Doxy, do I need to declare these when I arrive at the airport?
Can anyone tell me if I actually actually need a doctors note?
It will just be 24 pills altogether if anything.
Wait till you see the queue at other times
True I reach Jakarta airport early morning, there is no queue for VOA, just takes couple minutes. Better than submitting a form on internet.
Early morning (say, 6 am) there isn't much of a queue for anything, give it a few hours though and you'll seriously regret that choice.
I'm not even sure I've arrived at Terminal 3 since the advent of eVOAs, but the breeze it makes in Terminal 2 vs the old arrivals process (and ditto in Bali, even more so) makes up for any issues with the website. It has appeared stable and consistent this year, unlike the chaos of past years.
Plus any chance to avoid dealing with ANY immigration people in Indonesia is highly welcomed. The extent of my interaction before hitting curbside recently has been the customs guy holding up the scanner to read my barcode. Nobody has asked to see the health declaration, and I haven't even seen the counter or whatever it is for the 'Bali Tax' for visiting that place. If you are joining the long queues in Bali to process onsite, I doubt you avoid this. Jakarta is even easier, but more questioning immigration staff. Strolling down, hitting the gate and out to collect bags without dealing with a single Indonesian and the opportunity to score some Oleh Oleh from you is a vast improvement. Even the bags seem to be coming out quicker these days. It has hit 50 minutes or more in the past.
Paying for everything in rupiah, via a card or even tap and pay on your phone with Google Pay (no idea on Apple) is an extra cherry on top of the sweetness of modern electronic transactions in Indonesia. Never thought I'd say that about the place.
My first trip to Jakarta & I fell in love right away!
I travelled to Jakarta for the first time in April 2025; I stayed at the 'Luminor Hotel Pecenongan by WH'. (close to Classic).
I went to Travel, Classic, Malio, 1001 and Sari Ayu. Malio is my favourite, as they have gorgeous and curated girls. Indo girls are divided into two categories: 1. 3 M and 1. 8 M.
Classic (L2) is far better than Travel IMO. In Classic, you can roam around and view all the girls, but in Travel, most of the girls are behind the stage and only a few are shown by the Mamasons, and they are pushy compared to Classic.
1001 - both spa & club are a rip-off. Indo girls are good but you will get the same type of girls in Classic. 1001 is off my list.
I went to Sari Ayu on my last day, which was different from the above establishments; there are no tags and no entry fee. Drink prices are higher than those of Classic. They feature a diverse mix of locals and a good selection of girls. Overall, an eye-opening experience, and this place is a paradise.
I have booked my second trip in July. After RTFF, I will try other spots, including Emporium, Lokasari area, and other establishments in the Kota area.
Cheers, TF.
