In one city it worked out very well for me.

In the other city (bayamo) the girls were scared to talk to me in the street, but where ok talking to me at a party (still abit nervous), finally, the girls at the party were too scared to go out on a date or tell me where they lived in the last city. One of the girls was a prude and the other had a bigger and better deal. She didn't need me.

Yes, certainly it is alot easier to meet a girl when one has been introduced at a party, and the girl is out of the streets away from the police. However in a party, the girl is now under the watchful eye of her freinds, family and neighbors. And she does not want to look like a ****. Plus, she knows that when she starts dating you, she will still have to go out in the street with you.

Also. If your friends do introduce you to a girl at a party, and you hook up with her. You are pretty much stuck with the same girl for the duration of your current and future trips to Cuba. You can't drop her and find another one. You will be labelled as a mujeriego and your freinds won't hook you up again. If you want to find another girl. Go to a new town. For foreigners in Cuba, there is only one girl per customer. This is ridiculous because my same cuban friends have different girlfriends. They can do it but the foreigner can't. Hypocrits!

TG. The bottom line is: even if you go to parties. Yes you can get hooked up with a girl. As long as you can stick to just one girl you will do fine. If you want to boff many girls. Forget about it.

Malecon was dead. I did meet some chicas but when I started talking to them, the policia came up and started hassling them for I'd and such.

La Rampa and side streets. There are lots of pretty chicas walking around. This area is rich with hot babes. Unfortunately nearly all will NOT return eye contact, will NOT return your smile and will not speak to you when spoken to. La Rampa is the "land of the unsatisfied hardon"

Well, I agree, but with exceptions to that rule. A few of my Cuban friends treat me like a Cuban. They couldn't care less (in fact they would enjoy it I think) if i did all their friends and half the island on top. But you are certainly right that such situations are delicate, and that you can't go to parties with the same crowd and pick a new one each time. So the secret is having a bunch of Cuban friends taking you to new parties with new crowds. But hey, now we're talking Cuba, 'cause that is starting to be some complicated detour for something as simple as getting some decent ass...

But that is what Cuba has become. The most complex, most complicated, most confusing and most unstable mongeringd destination in the world.

I will caveat by saying this is my experience. I have been to Cuba many times over the last three years. While I agree with you that you cannot sleep with 3-4 girls a day like you can in some countries (say Brazil, Colombia) - I have not had a problem "switching" girls from one day to the other. In fact one of the things that I love about Cuba is that on many occasions the casa I stay in (which belongs to my cuban friend who lives there also) will typically have 3 or 4 girls staying there (family, friends, extended family) and by the end of the trip I would have hooked up with 3 or 4 of them (many times at the insistence of my friend lol!) with no grief. And these girls are not professionals by any stretch of the imagination. They know that I am there on a vacation, and I'm not a jerk - plus I will usually pay for drinks/cover charges when I'm out with them and leave a little gift the day I'm leaving. That said, on a few occasions I have simply chilled with the same girl for the whole trip because IMHO Cuban women don't have to take a back seat to nobody when it comes to giving GFE.

As a long time visitor (10 years) & monger to Cuba who knows that a person of my lack of Spanish & connections there, the prospects of scoring multiple times per day or even once per day is a tough act nowadays to achieve.

I now treat Cuba has a cheap place for fun & relaxation and if I get my hands on pussy 2 times per week near the resort I'm staying at is now a successful trip. Other than the usual places--beach near the hotel tropicoco, the via blanca highway, the Aramark & El Trebol bars on the via blanca--is there anywhere else in the area that a guy can find pro/non pro action?

I leave Thursday afternoon arrive early Thursday evening & would love for some extra help other than the places mentioned above & the 1 or 2 dudes that I seem to find who say they can find me chicas.

I got such a deal on the AI resort that I booked today that whatever happens happens (pussy or no pussy) & as always I will never overpay/do the italian just to get lucky on this trip.

It is summer time. Pussy is at the beach.

Any info on Carnival in Havana in July? I understand it is every weekend leading up to July 27th, which is the big and final day. Has anyone on the board been to Havana for Carnival and can tell me what to expect? I know that it won't come close to Rio or Salvador Brazil, but I'm curious what goes on and how expensive things get. Any input would be great. Also, I know Carnival is traditionally in Feb/Mar, but for some reason the Cubans celebrate it in July. I believe it has to do with Fidel Castro's birthday being July 27th. Thanks all.

MCruddy, I assume you flunked "revolution 101", fidel's DOB was August 13, 1926. Carnivals in Cuba was always celebrated around those dates, don't forget that the Moncada Garrison attack (July 26th, 1953) took place during the carnivals in Santiago de Cuba. In reality, Cubans shouldn't celebrate during those dates because to the Moncada were sent to die many good, idealistics young men for the benefit of a few who didn't fight.
When I lived there carnivals were fun, I assume today's the same. It was a good time to pick up chicks. Isn't that what you'll be there for anyway?

I bought the drinks danced a had all three in a weeks time, I speak very little Spanish. Sometimes I think speaking good Spanish is limiting, they girls seem to think my effort and mistakes to be hilarious. I usually do pretty well.

Well, nobody is saying you can't find action in Cuba. And if you are not picky, you can find lots in a place like Havana. But for those of us, who have been going for many years, Cuba is simply stratching the bottom now.

It's also a matter of taste. It used to be that even a guy with the pickiest taste who would only take supermodel-material home, could get laid 2 times a day. Now you can get laid 10 times a day with hardcore hookers while you can spend weeks hitching up with the type of girls that would litterally run after you back then. 9 out of 10 will run away now. Because of two things: Fear of police - and because Cuba is just ruined. From being a place where it was something special if a pretty and clever girl could hook up with a foreigner to being a place where every girl seen with a foreigner is labelled as a hooker.

That may be fun for some - Banging the putas from La Rampa and Casa de la Musica. I respect that. But it's no fun for those who were in Cuba 10 years ago.

I miss the days of old where the jiniteras ran after me. Now I have to run after them. I DO NOT expect the OLD Cuba to return. Them were some tough times back then. Despite the improvement in the economy the NEW Cuba would be friendlier if it weren't for all the police harrasment of the jiniteras and the rules against walking with or registering in a hotel with a foreigner.

In all fairness, I should say that I am not as well travelled in any other Latin American country as I am in Cuba. I have simply spend too much time in Cuba to allow for much else. But from the travels I have done, Cuba, it seems to me, has gone from GFE paradise numero uno, to be much tougher than places like Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica. I think the problem is that Cuba is relatively small, and all (almost) are equally poor, so jineterism has just become the standard. I mean, if you're a nice girl and you've seen your neighbour make 50 CUC every time she fucks a foreigner, why are you going to do it for free? Especially when you are making 20 CUC yourself in a months pay. Tourism has ruined Cuba. Castro kept saying it would for 40 years, then he gave up because they needed the cash, but in the end he was right.
