In the the. Are. Anything is possible I know a doctor here in San Christobal who I sometimes visit while he is working in the emergency room without any problems, even there sometimes they do stitches without gloves.

Try to think this thing through. Your brother married a doctor. But for some reason him marrying a doctor didn't stop him from having to deal with some BS causing them to split up. It could very well mean he realized he married the wrong woman, or perhaps him not getting something in the relationship.

Or it could be some area about him that concerned her. Either way. Some good marrying a doctor did for his ass. He ended up splitting up right after a child was born. And now he's divorced. Now he has to deal with the distance apart from the child, and how that may impact on his relationship with the child. Plus, why did she get primary custody of the child anyway? And the only thing you come with is the cost of him paying child support? The fact that a mans obligation to pay is dependent upon the womans earnings is a clear example of why nobody should be signing up for some entity to be dictating how much you should be paying.

Check this out. They are both doctors, why did she get the child? If she lost her job, how much would he have to pay her then? Have you thought about this? If he lost his job how much would he have to pay her even if she was still working? Would his obligation to pay be reduced? He has to get permission from some court to have child support reduced? Here's something else you may not have thought of; Did he have proof from the very beginning that the child was even his? In most instances, if a wife has a child, the husband is presumed to be the father. In enough instances, some men still had to pay child support for a child that their wives had with another man. So a man can be totally clueless about the paternity of a child until something comes up. Since you have not considered any of this, and only concerned about child support payments, and erroneously concluding this is about ALL american women, perhaps you should hush and just stay out of grown folks conversation.

You can't even use yourself as an example of somebody who married up and is still happlily married. You had to use your brother as an example? A poor example at that! SMH.

There are several factors that play into it and some are completely up to the judge. For instance, behavior by the individual parties. If your brother was a cheating, drug taking loser and had money the judge would have cleaned him out. Also, the laws pertaining to divorce vary tremendously from state to state, some states split all assets down the middle regardless.

However it unlikely that there are many places where "it is completely up to the judge."

Many states provide an informal mediation service that decides the nuts and bolts of how property will be divided. If you can reach an agreement with the other party, this can also be enacted without the details of the settlement being approved by the court.

In most states property that belonged to one of the individuals is not considered part of the marital estate, for example:

Any property that was owned by either spouse prior to the marriage;.

An inheritance received by the husband or wife (either before or after the marriage);.

A gift received by the husband or wife from a third party (your mother gave you her diamond ring);.

Payment received for pain and suffering portion in a personal injury judgment.

However all assets that were accumulated during the course of the marriage are considered to be joint property so this does favor the non working or lower paid wife over her more affluent husband, but not so much the higher paid wife.

California is a joint property state where the person who has considerable assets should be very careful about marrying a person who is less wealthy without an iron clad prenuptial agreement. This is why celebrity show-biz marriages there get into the news. Comedian John Cleese seems to have gotten badly shafted in a California divorce, having to continue to tour into his seventies to pay for the lavish lifestyle of an ex-wife he married in California.

British law also favors wives, however famous divorced men like Paul McCartney and Prince Charles have gotten off with most of their fortunes intact.

Just as a side note: If a female physician lost her job (assuming she was not self employed) it is unlikely that she would not be able to get another job at a similar level unless she had become disabled or something like that.

Sosua last night was in his normal form. The women came out to represent. Their need to pay their monthly rent. Whom ever came up with the idea of closing of the streetis alright with me. It gives you more room instead of being stuffed in the club. Rumba loses money because not so many people are in the club now they just walked back and forth in the open space. My flavor for the night mature and sexy. She stayed all night and accepted whatever I gave her. The sex wasn't as well as being with a younger thoroughbred. But for 2000 pesos Who am I to complain.

I have a pre-nup and a good portion of my assets were gifted. Guess what? Her lawyer is fighting tooth and nail to make it a 50-50 split. My attorney told me at the end of the day"it's up to the judge".

Had my Haitain "Nympho" wife over for the third night in a row and she got 5 leches out of me between 10 PM and Noon today. I think I need to get my testerone levels checked as I might need treatment for high T. Went down to the beach and there were lots of chicas on the crawl looking for their next victims. Took a kayak out for an hour and got a good upper body workout in Sosua Bay. The water was very nice and clear. Upon returning from the beach I ran into the Chiccaron vendor and bought 50 pesos worth of pork meat with skin on it (Carnitas in Mexico) which was very tasty which I topped off with some Good and Plenty and Hot Tamale candy. I need to replenish my leche supply as I have a commitment tomorrow with one of my other wives. Planning on taking her to Santiago on Monday to spend the night and go to the movies. Tomorrow morning I plan on hitting the waves at Playa Encuentro before having the wife come. Just another day in paradise here.

As an example if you owned a house coming into the marriage and your ex contributed to making the payments while married you may have a tough time with that unless you can trace everything. I'm not a lawyer but spent $ 200 k getting a divorce in California and had to retain a forensic accountant and a pension attorney to get the assets I brought into the marriage and gifts I received over the years. Fortunately I didn't have to pay any child support or alimony. Based on what your lawyer said to you which doesn't sound right if you have a pre-nup, I strongly suggest you have another attorney take a look at your case. Good luck as I can relate to what you are going to be going thru.
