15 years ago when the dollar was 4/1, I remember telling guys not to give tips for sex or not to give tips for pictures, etc. Their response? I used to be a member on here posting on Thailand some years ago (well I think it was on here or WSG but WSG doesn't seem to exist anymore- out of curiosity- anyone know why it closed down) but have lost access to that email account and can't remember my username or Password as its been about 6 or 7 years.
Anyway, after close to 13 years I am finally heading back to Rio in March (it's been far too long).
Essentially what I am asking is how much has this area changed since 2007. I wasn't sure whether to post this here or on the accommodation thread or the non pro thread as it kind of covers all three.
When I went before I was travelling with other proud sex tourists (one man and one woman- its an interesting story I plan on posting in the next week or so with something of a summary of my first rio trip before I post a new report in a few month's time).
This time around I will be travelling with a group of lads (all late 20's early 30's all in shape, some game-aprt from myself LOL). I know a lot of guys don't like to admit these things (ego etc) but I know there will be at least a few (if not the majority) who won't want to pay and will want to hunt for regular Brasileira's.
Whilst Copa suits me just fine (I would probably prefer it), If Copa is still like it was back in 2007 then I do not know how many regular girls they are going to find in Copa. If know the Rio Government tried to tidy up Copa with the Olympics and World Cup (They closed Help which I only got to experience once, man that place is forever embedded in my memory). Have things reverted since the world's eyes left RIo? What do you people think about the chances of finding Non GDP action in Copa these days. . If you think the chances of this are low, are there any specific area's you would say were better in that regard to base ourselves in Ipanema, Lapa or Centro perhaps.
I am working my way through this entire thread back from 2009 (I am trying to do about 25 pages a day. It is quite interesting actually reading about people who were convinced Help wouldn't close etc)) so I will likely find this information in due course but in terms of booking accommodation and where to base ourselves we probably need to get that sorted quite soon so any information people can offer on this would be greatly appreciated.
