Is it dangerous to visit HK now?
Hi guys,
I have been to HK before but that was 5 years ago. Recently I have heard from several reliable sources that it's dangerous to visit Mexico. These are not people who read something on the news, which often lies. These are Mexicans who visit Mexico on a regular basis and they are saying this about their own country. And then there is that polish guy who was beat to death the other day. I have stopped watching adult movies since July 1 and now I really need the physical touch of a girl. I don't want to visit a massage place because I don't feel like getting arrested. Which leaves me with no other choice but to visit HK. Is it safe as long as you mind your own business, don't talk to anyone unless they talk to you first, don't look rich? My usual routine was I would arrive at the border, pay a Mexican taxi $5 to take me to HK, do my thing, pay a Mexican taxi another $5 to take me back to the us border. I don't wander around.
It is much safer than it has been in the past

As long as you don't get involved in purchasing things you shouldn't, or walking around late at night drunk, the most likely bad thing to happen to you is to get mugged by the retero Police department of any extra cash you may have. That being said Tijuana is a place of desperate poverty and there is lots of crime, but as long as you stay to the downtown area and especially if you are taking taxis to and from your hotel you will be fine. I think the news likes to play up the danger because it gains viewership but it is safer now than it has been in the past that's for sure. Just a few years ago there were people getting choked out on the sidewalk by an organized gang of muggers you can ask some of the old-timers about how the Street crime used to be decades ago, something tells me it was significantly worse than it is now I've never had a single problem.
