Officially, an overnighter from emporium will cost you 6-7 juta, confirmed. Asking 5 mn is absurd and also not, I'll tell you why. I just spend a few hours in New Sari Ayu at Kota Indah, and had a great night. This is my favourite place here because it has quite a lot of chunky / besar / curvy girls. Just the type that I like. Some of that could be her nature, and some could be because of the rapport we had built in the bar, thanks mostly to the local guy.

After this 2nd bang, I head down again, and join this guy. He now introduces me to another local guy, and the three of us enjoy some beers, and shoot the breeze for a while before I leave.

The moral of the story. Having a local guy at a place like this seriously improved my success rate. And it made the whole evening so much more fun.

I reported last year that in Jakarta ATMs don't charge any fees and was shot down by LIH69. What I meant was that there are banks that don't charge fees if you use the right ones. Obviously some do charge fees but if you use the right ones you can avoid ever paying an ATM fee. That is what I meant. BCA and BNI are two of the fee-free ATMs.

Most BCA ATMs that dispense 100 K instead of 50 K you should be able to get 2. 5 million from. There is always variance among them in terms of the 50 K or the 100 K ATM. But I find BCA seems to have the most 100 K ATMs.

There is usually a sticker on the front of the ATM that says if it is a 50 K or 100 K ATM. But sometimes there is no sticker either.

It is also strange about the 1.2 million. Was that a 50K or 100K? Normally the ATM will dispense a maximum of 25 bills. So either 1.25 million for 50K ATMs and 2.5 million for 100K ATMs. The exception being the rare HSBC or CIMB Niaga that dispense 30 100K bills.

Some ATMs you can choose between the 50 K or the 100 K. But those seem rare. But there is one inside Maxim The Grocer next to the Novotel on Gajah Mada that is dual bill dispense.

I actually prefer the 50 k bills. There is a BNI that I use that's 50 k only and does 1250 k in 50 k bills. That's the best option in my opinion. Usually that's enough money for the day and 100 k are hard to get change for sometimes.

Some machines only give 1,250,000 max regardless of whether you want it in 50,000 or 100,000 notes. Others give 2,500,000. But. It's possible to keep re-inserting your card in the ATM and making multiple withdrawals. I withdrew 10 juta from a BCA ATM last week.

[/QUOTE]Then it depends on which BCA ATM. I remember getting 2.5 million from BCA at Grand Indonesia shopping mall. The thing is, one you locate an ATM that gives you what you want, better come back to the same ATM. This also minimizes the odds of mishap.
