Do any of you gentlemen ever watch YouTube channels dedicated to expats in Thailand? There are some good ones out there especially suited to our tastes.
I definitely do! Bangkok112 has some awesome videos, that get out of the documentary mode and more into entertainment lately. But, he also has covered Phnom Penh as well, recently. Yet, he does offer some great on the spot intelligence, such as bar closing, pricing, reviews of hotels and go-gos. Recently he reported that Thermae (below the Ruamchitt Plaza, where I have booked my first two nights) has seen an uptick in quality and quantity of girls and lower prices. But, he also advised to dress well for thermae, and that your appearance can impact your price in that environment.
Kev-in-Thailand is a great guy. Funny stuff but more dedicated to the ex-pat angle. Still, he got me interested in all the stuff on Soi Bukhaio, which I think is where I will stay if I get down there. I've exchanged emails with him and he was really helpful. Steff's Thailand Travel is his Flemish counterpart and does interesting video tours of Pattaya on his motorcycle, as well as other parts of Thailand.
Then there is the Austrian guy, King Epic, who panders a bit too much to guys who don't seem to have ever mongered, probably never get laid, and are just curious. Still he offers some on the ground intelligence and some hilarious moments, such as encounters with aggressive "katoey". More entertaining than enlightening.
