Hello Ekspat, Thank you for your honestly mate. This is a warning to all the guys going to AC & 'forgetting' to use protection or being told by the girls 'Im clean, I have tests'.

BTW, most people infected with Gonorrhea are infected with Chlamydia also.

Current treatment of choice for Chlamydia is Azithromycin 1 or 2 Gram or in a single oral dose. Followed by 10 day course of Doxyclycline 100mg twice daily.

For Gonorrhea, If you're lucky you could get away with oral doses of cefixime 400 mg, ciprofloxacin 500 mg, ofloxacin 400 mg, cefpodoxime 400 mg, or levofloxacin 250 mg daily but it is unlikely to work in asian countries where antibiotic resistance ia already prevalent.

Current treatment of choice for Gonorrhea is Injections or Intravenous Cetriaxone/Cefotaxime/Ceftizoxime or Spectinomycin 2 grams intramuscularly every 12 hours.

Spare a thought for the girls left behind there suffering from these infections...

So, question: I'm thinking of coming out to AC in June or July. I know it's off peak, but it's really the only feasible time for me. Is there still a good bit of action to be had there? Is the weather absolutely abominable, or are you OK as long as you've got a hotel room with AC?

Any advice would be appreciated.

June/July is the slow season for punters, but there willbe plenty of girls, so that makes it an excellent time to go!

June is the start of the rainy season so you will have the odd day when it will rain constantly but apart from that the weather is fine. The weather will only impact upon your trip if you decide to go to a beach venue like Borocay/Bohol, if your sticking to AC then it won't matter.

I have been a member and a avid lurker on this board for a few years now. This is a great site. It helped immensely in planning my Asian trip. I visited Angeles City in Jan. Of this year for a few days while I was touring Asia. I had a great time and looking forward to returning as I will be in Asia for the best part of 2 months at the end of the year or first of next year. Will be staying in Angeles for at least a week this time and maybe longer. I will be staying at the Pacific Breeze again because IMO it is a first class facility with first class service and a great location. Great for a newbie. Not many reports from me about my trip because it was a quick visit and I am not much of a writer or photographer but I will be ready for my next trip. Thanks to all the great writers here that made my visit more enjoyable. I made a few mistakes but nothing to serious. Would love to buy some of you wise men some drinks when I am there and get a few pointers. For now just wondering if anyone has heard anymore about the direct Bangkok to Clark flight that Cebu Pacific was suppose to start up. I hated the drive from Manila to Angeles.

these strains of gonorrhea aren't that easy to treat and the usual 1st generation antibiotics back from the 80ies or 90ies don't work anymore.
im shots or even iv is necessary nowadays to get rid of it quickly.
and these strains are available in ac.

since i travel to ac each time for a few days only, when i get symptoms, i'm back home and can treat it.
but if anyone is there for 2 weeks or more, it can spoil your complete annual holiday.

anyway, up to you, but i've learned my lesson.

No flight yet from DMIA Clark to Bangkok but don't imagine they will long in coming, although don't hold your breath as this is, after all, the Philippines.

Seems there are ambitious new plans to develop DMIA, which if they come to fruition (see last statement above) would mean big changes, and much needed regeneration, to the Clark/Angeles area. What effect this would have on the bar scene is anyone guess.
