First of all, I want say that I love Peru! And I am outraged that this evil basterd came to Peru and killed a sweet young girl, no one deserves to be slaughtered like a fucking dog! Because of this high profile murder, I think the hatred for gringos will grow! You have peruvian guys in Peru who are haters and they will say I told you not to fuck with gringos! If you are a gringo traveling alone like I do, It will for sure have the spotlight put on you. I felt it was kinda like this before the murder. For an examples: I was in Peru 2007 febuary trying to pick some action up on calle de pizza street, while I was talking to the girl something didn't feel right, as I looked around, I saw people in cars in the slow moving traffic of Friday night staring at me. People in the restaraunts looking at me, other peruvians walking by watching me like a hawk! I hope everyone stays safe!

Why would he be extradited to the US?

Van der Sloot was just arrested in Chile, and they are awaiting extradition procedings to Peru.

This is one guy, who has been strongly suspected of killing another young woman he dated before. I don't think that any ethnic group of people are responsible for the particular actions of any one specific serial killer. There are serial killers of all sorts of ethnicities floating around the world, and people understand this.

To hell with this idiot. He will spend the rest of his life in a cell in Peru. I will take odds on how long he lives. What a piece of scum!!

I agree with this comment. Peruvians are awfully nice people. They aren't going to treat people like we do in america. If anything they would be scared of you. That is what I felt when the other case was going on a few years back. Online dating would be my ST concern.

Gringos are frightening to a lot of people in south america. They don't understand our aggressiveness and lack of compassion. You need to prove you are on the up and up (by your actions) then things will be fine. I've caught myself many times trying to contain my ny attitude. It does nothing for me in SA. It's a necessity in NY.

Being a gringo and dating a local will always stir some kind of looks. Take it as a compliment and think nothing more of it. Try walking hand in hand with a pretty black girl in lima. I couldn't believe the looks I was getting. This girl was beautiful though...fuck em.

Because of his first murder. He could admit to commiting it in order to avoid Peruvian jail (unfortunately no death penalty here any more), and the U.S. would want him there. Doubtful though. There was no way he could hide anywhere anyway, according to his taxi driver he´s more than two meters tall.

WTF.[/QUOTE]I was in Lima for 4 days in late May, I haven't seen any black girls, pretty or not. The only black people I saw were in Barranco and they seemed destitute. I am Black, BTW. I would loved to have met any black Peruvian girls.

He was playing in a Poker tournament at "Atlantic City" and she was playing at the same table. Guys pick chic's up in casinos every night! This guy is "trafficker" and Professional poker player, he came from Colombia to Peru for a tournament. He has been living in SEA for the past few years, until his father in Aruba passed away last year.

There is a lot of misinformation going around about this piece of shit.
First, he not a Gringo, he's Dutch. He had a reputation of preying on young American tourist girls and providing them with drugs,etc. while they were vacationing in Aruba.


The incident involving Natalee Hollaway, took place five years ago in Aruba. Van der Sloot was a 17 year old Dutch national who had been living with his family at the time of the girl's disappearance. His father , an attorney was in training to become an Aruban judge. Van der Sloot was arrested and held for questioning several times, but the justices never indicted him so he could be tried. Neither were two Arubans that were also identified as having been with them that night ever indicted and tried.

Natalee Hollaway was from Alabama. She was in Aruba celebrating graduation from High School with several classmates. By all accounts she was partying very hard. It was established via video evidence, that van der Sloot was with her the night she disappeared, but a body has never turned up, and there was little or no forensic evidence linking him to her after they left the casino.


He went to Holland and went to a University over there and made some headlines periodically about the Hollaway case. He was supposedly the target of a sting by a Dutch investigating journalist and video was published .

Extortion charges in the United States
On June 3, 2010, van der Sloot was charged in the U S District Court of Northern Alabama ,with extortion for trying to get $250,000.00 in exchange for the location of Natalee Holloway's body. According to NBC affiliate WFSA, the criminal complaint filed with the court reveals that an advance amount of $15,000 had been wired from Alabama to the Netherlands on May 10, 2010. Supposedly, Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty contacted the FBI and that the money was used by van der Sloot to finance his trip to Peru
There have been a lot of twists and turns in this case in the last five years, but Aruba has a funky legal system compared to what we are accustomed to in the USA.

One thing is certain: His worst fucking nightmare would be to spend years in a Peruvian prison. It might also be the only justice the Hollaways get for their daughter.

Apparently, this girl Stephanie Flores, whom Van der Sloot supposedly killed, had won big at the casino that night, and Van der Sloot stole over $5000 of her cash winnings from her, according to the Chilean authorities that arrested him.

Another interesting tidbit, it had been rumored that one reason the Aruban justice system never closed in on him was that his father used his influence as a high powered attorney in Aruba, who was on track to become a judge in Aruba, to get him cut slack that the average suspect would not have been able to there and also had coached up his son on how to handle his interrogations in Aruba. But Van der Sloot's father dropped dead of a heart attack while playing tennis in February of this year, while Van der Sloot had been in the Netherlands attending school. So he has also lost much of the legal expertise and influence that kept him from getting indicted in Aruba.

Well the shoe is on the other foot now. He couldn`t have picked a worst girl to murder. The father is HEAVILY connected, has lots of money and ran for President twice. Unfortunately in the screwed up justice system here, he probably won´t get life. More likely 30 years or so, and he gets a bunch of benefits for good behavior, so he could get out in 7 years. However, given who his victim was, I think that it is extremely likely that he will have an unfortunate and painful fatal "accident" before he is released.
