I've been spending more time at Gauguin lately, and the comparison to Scandallo Lounge keeps holding up. For me the similarities are cool but it operates at a different price point for similar atmosphere.
Why "Scandallo Lite" actually fits.
1. Same family tree of Scandallo DNA, smaller scale.
Gauguin has the same core structure:
multi-floor layout.
bar-centered interaction.
decent rooms upstairs.
steady rotation of 50-60 garotas sexy garotas, a notch below Scandallo night but equivalent to Scandy 's day shift.
Some of the waiters, security guys, receptionist, wait staff previously.
Worked at scandallo. So on day one had instant connection with house staff.
2. Reminiscing on Pricing. Gaugin feels like "old Scandallo".
Price of $800 brl for mid tier and $1000 brl for top of the line stunner market. This is one of the biggest reasons for the comparison.
Garotas: are $500 are $1000 (top shelf).
Rooms: are $200.
Drinks: reasonable.
It reminds me of earlier Scandallo days, when high-level GDP were still around that 1 K range. Ahh.
F1 Week, NFL week and now Leonardo night, has bumped the gartoas asking prices to the stratosphere and have not returned to previous market levels. Scandallo is still my favorite place on earth but they realized dudes paying higher for sessions can afford the higher entrance too kkk.
At Gauguin: speaking basic Portoguese gets you deeper into conversations and clear the expectations in the bedroom.
more time to talk.
the garotas interview you too with "21 questions".
If you speak basic Portuguese, this becomes a huge advantage. Conversations with IoP and lustful intentions.
Best nights & timing (very important).
TuesdayThursday = strongest lineup.
5060 garotas.
best rotation that is equivalent to Scandallo day shift.
Weekend (Fri, SatSun) can suck.
noticeably slower.
fewer girls.
less dynamic fun.
Arrival timing tip (same as Scandallo):
Go before 9 PM for lower entry / consumables, early bird garotas $800 brl pricing levels.
Early hours = easier conversations.
Peak = more competition for attention $1000 brl garotas asking price.
Post Peak 2 am and later easier negotiations garotas to accept $500 brl session.
I still kick myself for throwing out $800 brl for duplo session with the blonde swedish bikin team. They accepted too damn quick no negoitation no pausing.
Next night I offered $600 brl, again accepted without pause or hesitation. Finally I anchored on $500 brl and $450 brl accepted after long pause, and mentioning to the 2 am garotas I am going to Casarso to pay garotad $400 brl or $500 brl.
Layout & where to sit.
The Long Bar (ground floor).
several bar stools filled with garotas. Notice how they try to keep one bar stool open in the middle for potential clients best for first contact.
high visibility.
Its good spot to checkout the talent while they are checking us out.
Second floor.
good place for conversation and personal attention, IoP and roaming hands.
its a quieter spot than the tables in front of the live bands.
Music & atmosphere.
Live band + DJ.
A lot of American cover music you instantly recognize.
Good energy of garotas dancing. Easier to scope the room.
Crowd.
mostly local business guys.
some foreigners.
older, business crowd.
Garotas.
Daytime scandallo not the night team.
wearing evening gowns, sexy attractive dresses.
Tag team.
Pro tip: when two garotas approach you at the sametime you are being baited as their next target for duplo session. They already discussed and gossip about you, your clothing, price point, money.
The sexy blonde garota and her damn cute blonde girlfriend have you in their sights. When they introduce themselves in english its ain't a coincidence.
Thr blonde Swedish Bikini team has their prey in sight. Kkk Personally I steer the conversation back to Porto, quote only in BRL. Not buying drinks for either one upfront, nor listening to any quotes in english or in USD. I negotiate only in porto and BRL.
Side not for google translate dudes. Use your favorite AI tool for translations it can adapt to local brasilian porto context.
Similar to Scandallo in Gauguin the garotas drinks:
gin tropical.
gin + Red Bull.
αgua de coco.
Rooms.
smaller than Scandallo.
but clean, fresh, well maintained.
cleaning staff of morenas does a solid job.
threesome pricing cost extra so get the slightly larger room for three people to be comfortable.
Wrist band. I dislike wearing those stupid wristbands to track consumption, and Casarao wristband system when exit snd retuning to Casarao. Shit if a mom&pop Padeira can use a card system they can too!! Rant over.
Payment insights.
You have two main ways to pay garotas.
1. Charge through the house.
goes on your credit card.
club takes a percentage.
garota gets paid later (23 business days).
requires her to submit and fill out a form with real name, contact info, email to receive her payout.
2. Pay directly her directly using.
InfinitePay.
Mercado Pago.
Stripe links.
Cash.
Pix if you have an account.
Increasing I am moving away from cash for safety of the garotas.
a bunch of degenerate mofo motoboys are specifically targets garotas living the club. They are lurking waiting for perfect moment snatch &grab purses with cash, iphones.
motoboys are tracking the garotas routines.
Its disappointing to read the instagram posts when their phones, cash, money, purses are taken by motoboys. On metro, or onibus.
Pro tip: I use instagram to stay in touch with club garotas. Whatsapp is good until their iphones are stolen or they change phone numbers. I use three different instagram profiles, one for family and friends, one for the brasilian girlfriend, third profile for GDP and side chick garotas. They post about their lives, bars, selfies, it easy to drop a Oi!! In their DM.
In conversations with Gaugion GDP some have a Rotation between clubs.
Day shift → Scandallo.
Evening / night → Gauguin.
Late / overflow → Connection / Gauguin / Bomboa.
I don't like Bomboa 222 (too damn small) / Bahamas (older GDP not worth $1000+ brl) Cafe Photo (expensive, older garotas) Zeus (no reason to repeat).
Gauguin Location from.
1012 minute Uber from Moema.
easy to combine with other stops to Casarao.
Gauguin is not trying to beat Scandallo it's offering:
similar structure.
similar style.
lower cost + lower pressure + more conversation.
That's why I call it "Scandallo Lite".
You can search other post here or on gpguia, but as always:
YMMV this is based on my personal experience.
Great report! I'll be down last week of April for the 1st time and wow this report hits! Feel free to keep posting. I very much appreciate the time and effort put in for others benefit!

Why "Scandallo Lite" actually fits.
1. Same family tree of Scandallo DNA, smaller scale..
I'll be arriving in SP this (Easter) Sunday, this will be my second time there. It sounds like I'm not arriving on the best weekend since the city seems to shut down, but sharing some of my plans and questions in case anyone has suggestions:
Easter Sunday (5 April): I've arranged a meeting with a girl I met at Scandallo on my last trip who was up for anything and sounds like she still is. I plan to take her to a love motel (I assume those will still be open in Easter Sunday? If it were a different Sunday I would have tried Casarao. But I figure Easter will be no good (if it's even open) so I'll get my trip started off with a girl that I know without depending on a club being open.
Rest of the week: I'll probably go to Scandallo most nights but from recent posts here it sounds like maybe I should try Gauguin too. I'm ok to pay average Scandallo rates and I learned my lesson last time that the girls start at multiples of what they'll settle for. So this time I'll just propose a rate to them (1000-1500/ hour, 2000-2500 all-night at Scandallo. 50-70% of that at Gauguin) instead of asking the girl how much she wants. I'm looking forward to trying Gauguin too but as an infrequent visitor I don't know if I'd venture to other places since I'm willing to pay for a higher quality of the girls and facilities.
I'm curious about meeting girls outside of the big clubs too (seeking, etc) - but it sounds like since I don't speak Portuguese I would be at a disadvantage or would have to put in some time and effort to find the right girls and negotiate. I tried Palms the last time I was there and I get why guys like it but not for me. I'll only be in SP for less than a week so I'll probably just go to the reliable clubs, and save the dating sites for when I have more experience in SP. But I appreciate if you guys tell me if you think I'm missing something.
Also, a couple other questions for my travel:
- The Scandallo waiters and security were great the last time I was there, especially as they got to recognize me over multiple days. But I didn't tip them anything, and it sounds like some others tip and I don't want to stiff them. I'm willing to tip them for great service and to have some guys looking out for me around the club. But is that normal or weird? And what's the best way / amount? Unless I learn something new from you guys I'll hand them each 30-50 brl and say 'obrigado', but am I off here?
- Cash: getting cash from ATMs was a huge pain on my last trip and after trying and failing with several Bradesco and Santander ATMs, one of my cards finally worked at the ATM in my hotel (Renaissance) but that ATM charged crazy fees. This time I'm going to take more BRL with me, and will probably bring some cash USD for exchange also. But if there's a better way I'd like to hear it.
Finally, DM me if others are looking to grab a drink at Gauguin or Scandallo with an American during the week, it's nice to pass the time with someone else while scoping out the girls. It was nice to have SocratesNY introduce me to the club and a couple girls at Scandallo on my last trip and I'm happy to pay it forward.

That should be the primary go-to for Sundays. On the clubs sounds like a good plan but I wouldn't rule out Casarao late night. I have the coin to do Scandallo all the time but I like the change of venue. Since the remodel, Casarao is a different club. The big new area is only open Wed to Sat I believe but it's great to do Scandallo and then go there afterwards when that part is open.
On tipping, I don't think you want to tip all the waiters that serve you. But if you get a table and bottle in the club, which I recommend, then I usually give a 50 at end of night if he's the man (and they usually are). I dont think many people tip so they are always appreciative. That said, even when I didnt tip they always have treated me like royalty. Those guys are top notch.
You have discovered a gold mine in the ATM at the Rennaisance. Very reliable with large limits. Get a Schwab or Fidelity cash account and they rebate ATM fees. Last year I had over $300 rebated. Of course make sure to decline conversion. That is just a scam all ATMs do. THAT is a huge unnecessary fee you won't get back. Always decline / cancel conversion.
Mind me asking what the withdrawal limit is at the Rennaisance ATM?
Pretty sure it was 2700 R. And you can do it multiple times so long as you don't hit your banks daily limit.
When u come in the lobby go to the escalator on the right and down a floor. Then take a U turn and u will find it on your left.
Quick note, last night Uber was charging minimum 50+ reals on all options to go to Rua Augusta. InDrive's offer came out to be 27 for the same ride. So just be aware that this can be a money saving option if you feel Uber's prices look ridiculous. Besides cash, there's an option for "card machine". Wonder what this is and if there are fees.
Another thing that I noticed with Uber is that when you call, you give you fare in USD in Europe, and you think you are paying Euros, but when you get a receipt uber converts from Euro to USD. I don't know other European countries, but it happened to me in Greece and Portugal. Basically, they are cheating. When I complained, they gave me credit. However, they still do the same in Europe. I guess they do the same in other countries too.
Hi fellas!
Wanted to post a poll question. Trying to decide between Sao Paolo and Rio for a tail end of a Brazil trip. I was thinking of going to the Pantanal or Lencois, and wanted to tack on 2-3 days of punting at the end.
I was last in Rio almost ten years ago. Had a great time going to 4 x4 a few times, as well as a daytime "apt" which I think was Prazer. Also had a great time at Ipanema beach, and Lapa at night.
Wherever you visit Brazil, almost all the flights go through Sao Paolo, so it is very easy to stop there on the way in or out, for a quick 2-3 days of punting. Rio usually requires an extra flight, for which there are less options. I have heard so much about Scandallo over the years. It seems that many consider it the best venue in the world. I would like to see it as a bucket list thing, but for actually partaking, it would be out of my price range. I was thinking more in the R500-1000 range.
One of the recent posts has mentioned a Scandallo lite, and I would be looking for venues like that. Daytime massage / apartments are ok for some extra action, but I really enjoy the night venues more. With Rio I can enjoy time at the beach or hiking. If I went to Sao Paolo, it would be purely for punting, so it has to be good. I hear so much about Scandallo, but not much else. If 4 x4 is similar to what it was a decade ago, I would be happy just going there everyday.
How does SP compare with Rio as a GENERAL punting destination. In various posts, I see other venues mentioned here and there in SP, but no other place that forum members universally praise, at least that would be "mid-tier. ".
Thanks in advance!

The "night league" scene in Sampa has surpassed that in Rio (not as many good termas and talent level has fallen). There's Gauguin Club or "Scandallo Lite". And there's also Casarao, which is good late (although I like to go earlier for better odds at first dibs) and quite cost-effective, and which is pretty universally praised as another strong alternative to Scandallo. And regarding Scandallo, I would urge you not to go all that way and not at least check it out. Every international traveling monger should have that notch in their belt. I mean, to me, it would be like going to Italy and not having the best pasta in the entire world or something LOL! So, only 2-3 days? You got Gauiguin, Casarao, and Scandallo! What you going to do dawg?

There's a couple places that fit, attractive widows and divorcιes frequent. Sure, there might be some plastic surgery.
They are more concerned about getting their groove on and less concerned about condoms.
It's actually better to flirt with mature women in places where they least expect it. They are more likely to appreciate the attention than younger women.
I kind of wish I was hitting on mature women in my younger years.

Ok. First Cane is spot on. If going for girls venue absolutely no contest. SP wins hands down. Not even same ballpark.
He is also right that you CANNOT miss Scandallo if you are in SP. You will forever regret it. There is no other. Here is how to do it on a budget:
1. Make sure to avoid a night with a big artist. Cover is way higher. You can tell by their Instagram.
2. Go before 7 to avoid the extra cover. Before 7 should be 300 R (or 400?) all consumable.
3. Drink beers. Like coronas. Theses are like 60 R. You can have 1 an hour, stay till 12 and offset against your 300 R consumable.
4. Bounce to Casarao. Get a girl there for 500 (ish). It's great fun Wed-Sat after 12.
So you spent a total of $60 US at Scan, got to experience Scandallo and fucked a Casarao hottie to close out the night.
That said, given the once in a decade opportunity, you could absolutely take a hottie at Scan for 1000 R (totally doable) plus 350 R room. For maybe $100 more than Casarao Id say make this onetime extra spend. You can afford it.
The other day you can do Gauguin (GG) and have the Scan miniature experience at one venue.
P.S. If you loved 4 x4 you will be blown away. 4 x4 club area is about 1/3 the size of just the restaurant at Scan! 😜.

Hello fellow mongers wanted to pick you guys brain on utilization of MP.
1. Any forum tread about MP?
2. Is subscribing to MP worth it?
3. Some words of wisdom and advice on MP?
