Here is a list of prices I paid for girls during my one month stay in Pattaya in Sept 2016.
Excellent report Franga, thanks for both reporting the numbers, but also for keeping track of them. This jibes with my experience of the Beach Road girls being 1000 baht a pop, at least for now.
Wow. Excellent report, my friend. Just the facts! Just one question: is it possible to pay the massage parlor something like a "bar fine" and take the masseuse off premises and off to your room? I understand the MPs don't always offer the privacy or comfort of a hotel room.
In a small oil massage shops you can take the girl to your hotel room, no problem.
In a big body massage fishbowl parlor I think you can't take out the girl to your hotel room.

I understand the MPs don't always offer the privacy or comfort of a hotel room. I also noticed that there is a plethora of inexpensive hotels right on Soi Honey, but I have to question if there are downsides to the convenience and a reason for the low price. Will be flying out to BKK one week from today (this time next week I will be on a plane to Seoul).
Most of the time you can get the massage girl in your room for just an additional 100 bt per hour. That's excluding any extra's of course.
I'm back in Pattaya and I just love this city.
So I took a stroll down Soi 6 to reconnect with some bargirls and after chatting with them, I've confirmed some observations of my stroll. There is an influx of new young girls. .
Excellent news. I will be there in 4 weeks for my 4th visit! I was there 5 months ago and the Soi 6 picking were not the greatest, but there have always been a few hotties to ferret out. Glad the task will be easier this time.

Ah, thanks CG!
I like the beach road action, love the hunt. But sometimes walking up and down too much without finding the right one is frustrating. I should switch to the MASSAGE forum for more info.

We don't know all the plans yet. But so far life goes on, but please consider wearing black when outside in Thailand if practically possible.

All bars have shut down for the night. Girls are messaging me not knowing what to do. They are waiting to hear how long everything will be closed for and if more than a week will likely go home. I suspect bars closed at least a week. Thailand PM said no festivities for 30 days. Not sure if that means bars.
Luckily I'm presently in Phnom Penh sitting in the heart of the Red Light District.

King dies
What is the situation in Pattaya? Is the country shutting down?
https://www.hongkongfp.com/2016/10/13/breaking-thailands-king-bhumibol-adulyadej-dies-aged-88-report/
Thank you for posting Tiger888. It seems every year when high season starts in Thailand. Something happens there dramatic. Bird flu, politic problem, weather. Why should this high season be any different. I always said I would never want to be in Thailand when the king dies because from what I was told everything would shut down. Meaning all bars ext. It will be interesting to see what happens. I am so glad for forums like this so we have some troops already on the ground. Much thanks to Jackson. My trip to Thailand was planned for next month. Hopefully things will be back to normal.
Luckily I'm presently in Phnom Penh sitting in the heart of the Red Light District.
Very good timing on your part, BB. Stay where you are and enjoy PP.
I have just finished sending my condolences and long distance hand holding with my 3 favorite BKK girls. They are pretty distraught. Their beloved monarch/father figure is gone and their grief is real.

Word on the street from someone I know there is that Pattaya's scene has shut down entirely following the passing of the King of Thailand.
I've sent my condolences to those I know during this probably very difficult time.
Walking Street is apparently completely dark and deserted, and will be closed for the next week. Beerbars are closed as well. People distraught.
I returned on Sunday. Good timing I guess.

I was planning a return to Pattaya in November, based on this, this might have to be shelved. I'll be standing by for updates.

Mourning period

Luckily I'm presently in Phnom Penh sitting in the heart of the Red Light District.
I've read that the mourning period will be one year, and entertainment facilities need to tone it done for at least 30 days. I'm sure with the current leadership, this will be strictly enforced. And many Thai business owners will respect and understand that anyways. And good Thailand mongerer should have a big list of phone numbers anyways. I imagine the soapy and fishbowl places in Bangkok will be available, but maybe not for a few days. I'm sure the Thai people are truly sad about this. Perhaps more ladies will be seen on the streets pretending to be good girls. There might be bars open. But doors closed and no music.
