Here's my review of the famous Mansion. I stayed at M2. True to prior reports, the walk up from M1, while not very far, is straight uphill. A great way to burn some additional calories, but will be a nuisance for those heavy set dudes. As I stated before, the accommodations at M2, I think my room was 106, was very basic. The internet connection worked okay the first night, was out most of the 2nd night, and somewhat slow (I stream Netflix) on my last night. Hot water was out for two nights, but you could still shower as the water was by no means really cold. The bed was just okay, and the AC worked great. Couldn't find the remote for the TV, but I don't need to watch 24 hours of Goal TV or movies dubbed in Spanish. M2 has a nice common area with large sliding glass doors overlooking the pool. Couple of tables out there where you can enjoy a cold beer. The other cool thing are the rooms don't seem to be all packed together in one area. The area is really quiet at night.
Last Saturday, I was looking forward to hanging out at M1, and shooting the shit with the other dudes as I heard it was a "Frat House" type environment. That was not the impression I got when I looked around the common and pool area. It reminded of the presentation area at New Life where dudes are all sitting in separate areas. Maybe it was me, but I just didn't get a good vibe, and decided to hang in Poblado. Went back around 12:00 in the AM when the bar was open. Same thing. A couple of dudes sitting by themselves, and one small group that was partying having a good time. There was maybe two or three chicas out of about 20 that I would do, but even those ones were just okay. Finished my beer and got the hell out of that place. I did go to the bar area round 8:00 in the PM on Friday. At that time, the chicas seemed to be a little more mature than the one's I saw the next night. I'm not sure if the ones that were there earlier take off later, or are upstairs bangin clients, but the selection is definitely better in the early evening.
The coolest part of my mansion experience was hanging out with one of the Partners of the place. He was really cool, and took me on a Casa run on Saturday. In his words, the mansion isn't for everyone. I agree. It's really a place for those who need to be spoon fed chicas. The other positive is, obviously, you're not going to catch any grief for bringing chicas back to your room.
Some other things to note. Your first night has to be put on a credit card, thus, no way to get the cash discount rate. Also, you do pay and added tax on the room every night unlike the hotels which delete their tax. Some bullshit about the hotel being over 10 yrs old. Not a big deal, but both of these things does add to the overall cost of the rooms. The weekend I was at the Mansion, there was a countrywide ban alcohol due to the Sunday FARC vote. That could've been the reason why the talent wasn't that great at the bar on Saturday Night.
I'm glad I had a chance to check this place out, but it's not for me.
