I've gathered some information about Jakarta from various online sources and this forum. Having previously visited Cambodia and Vietnam, I was wondering:

What is the up-to-date information about potential Hostess Bars / Girly Bars in Jakarta? I'm thinking of establishments similar to those in Saigon or Phnom Penh, where ladies work. There for entertainment of the clients, having drinks and playing pool. Years ago, the Blok M area, particularly Jalan Falatehan 1, was known for this type of entertainment. After Top Gun and other bars closed years ago, some bars remain: Moonrider, An's place, my bar. The reviews are mixed about them: either a few average women with limited English skills, or one google review about overpriced bills. Others got lucky there and found a good freelancer for one-night stay.

To summarize, do you have any suggestions for hostess-like bars? If not, what are the alternatives. For a casual night out involving chats, drinks, and pool? (not necessarily Sex afterwards, as there are other options). Perhaps sports bars or expat bars, such as Eastern Promise or those in Kuningan?

Happy to help. In Jakarta, using MiChat (not Wechat) I've found young, eager girls who were available to meet me pretty much immediately. Pretty much 24/7. To get the app though, you need an Indonesian E-sim or sim card WITH a phone number. Just data won't do it. Just go to people nearby and you'll be swamped with options. Price range starts at around 400,000 IDR. Some will start at 800 k but they'll quickly barter down to 4 or 500 k. Met up with several young cuties off MiChat with 100% satisfaction.

The street girls around Lokasari, near the KFC, are available from early afternoon until the wee hours every day of the week. They or their handlers will approach you. They'll all go for 300 k IDR.

If you just want instant gratification with some truly stunning young 18 yo, go to Classic Hotel or Travel Hotel from 7 pm or so any evening. Girls are 375 k IDR, plus whatever you may feel like tipping.

Starmoon and a few other brothels charge about the same and there are some gorgeous girls at those places as well.

I didn't feel the urge to try any other apps such as Bumble, Badoo or Omi but they're on those too.

I'm headed back to Jakarta this week long term and plan to find a regular girlfriend or two via clubbing or apps. Will see how it goes.

Bangkok. It just takes longer, and the girls I found on Thaifriendly and Thaiflirting and Tinder who agreed to meet me ended up being pros, or amateurs looking for help or 'someone to take care of me'. In short, Bangkok is significantly pricier and a lot more work than Jakarta and that is why I'm headed back to Jakarta on Monday.

I spent August and September in Pattaya Thailand and I'm in Philippines now and will be heading to Jakarta, Indonesia next. In my experience you can get good working girls for short time in your room / airbnb for about $50-60 usd and by short time that can be anything from 1 to 3 hours. I think that makes Jakarta a good deal and definitely competition for Colombia. And that's just one fucking place there are many other bar brothels and gentlemen clubs all over Jakarta. I'll be there in 2 weeks so I'll let you guys know how it really is.

All of them had somebody on the phone they were talking to, apparently getting advice on how to handle this difficult foreigner who did not simply go up to the room with somebody who was not the one in the photo. In most cases they were texting, but in some cases I could them talking to a female voice on the phone. My first time the agent or whatever kept messaging me on michat that he would send the real girl, the real girl was on the way, etc. as I was on the way back to my room, but I blocked him.

Even the one girl that was not a scammer and who I thought was working by herself I later found out, because I accidently repeated with her through some other michat account her agent / handler was operating for her, was run / getting help from someone else.

Said she got 300 out of the 400 I paid last time.
