My observations after one night:
Hotel Cascadas: big upgrade: more elevators, the hot water actually works, direct passage to Restaurant Azul is open again.
The bar: it seems that the average lady is older and heavier. Only a few spinners, didn't see a spinner with boobs. I'm used to Thai ladies, I don't know how to fuck a lady who looks like a middle guard for the Green Bay Packers. What I was looking for was a "normal" lady, didn't see one.
Other: the Callejón is a lot darker now, with more bars closed.

The other big upgrade is HK was expanded with the addition of a new wing, past the old Club Miami. That wing is usually only open Friday and Saturday nights.
Yes, there is direct passage to Azul again, though it's a bit of a pain to have to go through the security check every time you leave Azul to go back to the hotel.
Re: La Valentina, my understanding is that club is owned by the same folks who own Adelitas. That club's basically been shut down for as long as Adelitas has and I assume would look to reopen around the time Adelitas reopens (when or if that ever occurs).

Gents, I was a regular, but moved out of the county for a few years and now will be back for a few days, I see Adelita is closed what bummer! I plan to stay a couple nights at cascadas. I have a few questions about what might have changed over the last few years.
1. Where is the pedestrian crossing into Mexico? Is it sill on the east side of I-5 near the McDonalds / trolley? Last time they had moved the crossing back to the US onto the opposite side.
2. What is the best way to get to Zona Norte? I used to take a taxi ang give the 5 bucks. Not sure I'd that is still the going rate and don't want to over pay.
3. What about the HK shuttle / limo? Where does it pick up? I have a downloaded voucher but don't know how to schedule pickup or where to go.
4. I plan to get my vip card upon arrival before checking in, I presume that is still the best plan?

I only go to Tijuana about once a year (I live in Thailand). I also noticed that the pony beer bars are smaller. You could easily spend $100 on fichas in an hour.

-Yes. Near last station of blue line trolley, San Ysidro crossing. Still there. Across the bridge El Chaparral also open. Check their operation schedule.

-Taxi or uber/DD all available.

Thanks in advance.[/QUOTE]1) Yes, pedestrian crossing is still in the same area by the McDonalds and trolley. The southbound crossing at PedWest about a 5 minute walk away might also be open (I don't know, I don't use PedWest anymore), but if it is, it's only open during certain times I think.
2) I haven't taken a taxi in Tijuana in years but my understanding is the pricing is up to around $7 + tip to Zona Norte. Maybe you can still find drivers willing to do $5, though I think it'd be more difficult than in the past. Best way to get to Zona Norte is the (free) HK shuttle or take a taxi de ruta (16 pesos or $1) to Zona Centro and walk about 5 minutes down Constitucion to Zona Norte.
3) I almost always take the HK shuttle / limo. You can take the downloaded voucher if you want but you don't really need it. If you tell them you're going to Cascadas or HK they will take you for free anyway. A tip is expected, I usually tip 2 or 3 dollars.
As far as where to catch the HK limo, it's kind of hard to describe but this link ([URL]https://shorturl.at/wrAs0[/URL]) will hopefully gives you a better idea of where you need to go. If you rotate the link to the east you'll see the area where we all walk out of the Mexican customs building after showing our passports. If you rotate the link to the north you'll see a dirt parking lot with a fence in front of the pedestrian walkway (in the Google pic, a guy with a red hoodie and jeans is walking in front of the fence). Sometimes the HK limo will be parked right in that parking lot waiting for people to walk by to take to Zona Norte. But if the limo isn't there you can open the fence (or ask the worker who will usually be sitting there to open the fence), walk through the lot, make a left to go down the hill a little bit, and at your very first right, walk through the parking lot to the more common waiting area for the limo. There are signs indicating where the limo is supposed to be (you can see the "ZonaShuttle" signs in the link or you could probably ask one of the workers near the dirt parking lot. Even if they don't speak English they'll probably know what you mean if you just say "Hong Kong" LOL. In my experience most of the time the limo will already be there but if not the wait is usually not longer than another 5-10 minutes.
4) Yes, I always get a VIP card before checking in. There's a guy right at the front desk who will sign you up. The cost is $70 and the VIP cards expire every 3 months. It's the most cost-effective way if you'll be spending more than 1 day at Cascadas over the course of 3 months.
5) HK and Cascadas (and most or all of the other Zona Norte clubs I think) have added walk-through metal detector gates to enhance security. I think these got added back in 2021, not too long after than Rutgers basketball player murdered the girl working at Adelitas. Note that pretty much anything that could be used as a weapon they won't let you take into your Cascadas hotel room. For example I had some boxing gloves in my luggage that I use to workout that they wouldn't let me take up to my room and the Cascadas staff showed me a baseball that had to be checked into storage since I guess the baseball could be used as a weapon or otherwise cause damage to the room. So be mindful of what you take as they do open up and check any luggage or backpacks you bring for potentially dangerous items.
6) 100-120 is the going rate for the girls I've dealt with most recently at HK. I don't do much haggling on price but I personally don't go above 120.80-100 for the girls at Tropical, at least in my experience.
7) Tropical (across the street from HK) and Chicago are the main bars for that. The other Zona Norte bars are a level below even Tropical and Chicago, at least in my opinion.
8) Yes, I bring non-HK girls to my room in Cascadas all the time. Also HK girls when they're off shift. There's no additional fee for this. If you try to bring an HK girl up during her shift without going into the club the staff will bring a bucket of beer and try to make you pay for 5 drinks before she can enter your room.

Once you clear MEX immigration, exit the building and walk down the short sidewalk right before where everyone else waits for taxis on the right hand side there should be a Zona Shuttle kiosk where either the shuttle is there to take you to la zona or a short walk a little further down a paved parking lot (ask directions) to a small "storefront" where the Zona shuttle can take you. This my recollection from my Jan 2024 trip.
I so excited I will be back out in less than 3 weeks for 5 nights!
