Short term marriage contracts are available and actually quite common. Middle Eastern Muslim guys use them to retain a girl and not be seen to be having sex outside marriage. Others can use them to detail who gets what and for how long. I don't think many expats use them now but they were used to clarify how long and, more importantly, what the deal was at the end of the term ie no surprises or wild requests for payments.

Comments about repaying loans are correct. If she was fronted money, then that would have to be repaid, likely with interest, before she would be free to go elsewhere.

There are at least two very different kinds of contracts for girls working at classic. Some are what I would call "free agents".
