**Hotel Advice kindly requested for: Berlin Hotels Near Artermis**
Hi All,
I am visiting Berlin for a holiday near the end of August 2008 and was looking at visiting FKK Artemis for each of my 4 days as a relaxation venue interspersed with sightseeing.
I have visited a number of the NRW clubs several times and also the Hessen clubs several times. Those trips were all about the mongering or punting but this trip is about the sightseeing as well as the punting. That said I know the Artemis club is open from 11am to 5am so if I happen to close the club at 5am which I expect to do given what I do in NRW and Hessen I want to be able to stagger back to my hotel instead of trying to track down a taxi and having to pay for it when I could get a room close by. I will not have a hire car.
I was hoping for some assistance from other visitors to Artemis who have done something similar and can provide advice on accommodation. I also do want to see the sights of Berlin but this will be during the day time and the evening is to be at the FKK Artemis for adult fun. As I do want to see sights I would like my hotel to be near public transport as well but I do not mind being a bit further out as I know with public transport you can get to places fairly quick by linking into the network.
I do not mind basic accommodation as I do expect to spend much time in my room. I am also happy to share showers and bathrooms. I also do not expect to be picking any girls up or hiring in escorts to my room as I will be doing my punting at Artemis or even la Folie or other brothels or private houses in Berlin. However, Artemis is my main aim in terms of punting due to my experience of Hessen FKKs and NRW sauna clubs.
I have done a bit of research and the recommendation for the closest is the Hotel Kronzprinz which is like less than 1km (10 minutes walk away) away from Artemis per Google Earth. Hotel Kronzprinz is not the cheapest at €78 a night per www.booking.com.
Hotel Kronprinz Berlin
Kronprinzendamm 1, 10711 Berlin
Built in 1894, the Hotel Kronprinz Berlin is housed within a lovingly restored Wilhelminian-era building just off the renowned shopping street Kurfürstendamm in Berlin's elegant West End. Guests don't just stay overnight at the Hotel Kronprinz Berlin; this is where guests can really live. Relax and enjoy some pleasant conversation in our lounge or to rummage through our interesting library. Make use of our conference facilities and explore the exciting and vibrant capital city. Rooms: 75.
I have been quoted by www. Booking.com the price of €234 for 3 nights or €78 per night in a standard single room included in room price: buffet breakfast, VAT, service charges.
The cheapest place I could find on www.booking.com is Jugendgästehaus St.-Michaels-Heim which is 2.1 km away which is a good 20 minute walk away. Looking at the map there is no U bahn or s bahn close by so regardless of the cheap and cheerfulness I think this is not good if I wish to be a tourist using public transport. Does anyone have any further observations that may sway my view of this venue? It is such a shame as the price is very good at €21 per night.
Jugendgästehaus St.-Michaels-Heim
Bismarckallee 23, 14193 Berlin
The St. Michaels Heim is located in a quiet, affluent residential area at Lake Herthasee in the borough of Berlin-Grunewald. In only a few minutes you reach the popular Kurfürstendamm with its restaurants and shops. The Grunewald Forest is a beautiful place for a relaxing stroll in the fresh air. In the former Mendelssohn Palace you will find not only a youth hostel and a hotel but also a church, a restaurant, various rooms for conferences and events as well as one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Berlin. Visit us and get to know Berlin in the most relaxing way.
Rooms: 40.
Single Room Prices are per room for 3 nights.
Included in room price: VAT, service charges. €63 for 3 nights or €21 per night for my particular dates.
Hotel-Pension BEROLINA in Charlottenburg which is 2.4 km away walking and costs €35 per night for the nights of my stay. This is like 25 minute walk away.
Hotel-Pension BEROLINA
Stuttgarter Platz 17, 10627 Berlin
Situated just 5 minutes from the renowned boulevard "Kurfürstendamm", 10 minutes from the exhibition grounds and 20 minutes from Tegel Airport, this small hotel-guesthouse awaits your visit in West Berlin. Important: showers and WCs are located in the hallway. Rooms: 74.
For a single at the Hotel-Pension BEROLINA for 3 nights is €105 or €35 per night.
Hotel-Pension am Lehniner Platz is 1.8 km from Artemis per Google Earth so this is over a mile away so a good 18-20 minutes walk away but appears to be good value at €42 per night. It is also near a U bahn which is also a big plus for this venue.
Hotel-Pension am Lehniner Platz
Damaschkestr. 4, 10711 Berlin
Our newly renovated 19th century hotel offers comfortable, quality rooms for tourists and business travellers; with free wireless internet access throughout the hotel and free parking on site. Just in front of our hotel-pension you will find a bus stop and the hustle and bustle of the famous Kurfürstendamm with its countless theatres, cosy cafes and shops. You can also watch the day and nightlife of this hub of cultural activity from the hotel balcony. There are very good public transport connections to Berlin's airports, the ICC-congress centre and the Hauptbahnhof (central railway station). Rooms: 7
Single Room Prices are per room for 3 nights.
Included in room price: buffet breakfast, VAT, service charges. 3 nights is €126 or €42 per night. Hotel-Pension am Lehniner Platz is near a U Bahn.
Another alternative is the Hotel Messe am Funkturm which looks like 1.5km away walking and is near a U Bahn station. I am happy with 15 minutes walk.
Hotel Messe am Funkturm
Wundtstrasse 72, 14057 Berlin
This hotel is situated in the heart of Berlin, directly opposite the International Congress Centre (ICC) and close to the Olympic Stadium. Public transport services await directly outside our front door, allowing effortless travel to/from all of Berlin’s airports, the main railway station and all parts of the city. The famous boulevard Kurfürstendamm - with its numerous boutiques, cafés and restaurants – can be reached on foot in a matter of minutes.
Rooms: 31
My estimate that Hotel Messe is 1-1.5 km from Artemis so it is a brisk 15 minute walk away.
Single room with shower for 3 nights is €150 or €50 per night.
Hotel Amelie Messe ICC
Kaiserdamm 29, 14057 Berlin
Single Room Prices are per room for 3 nights.
Included in room price: buffet breakfast, VAT, service charges. For 3 nights is €150 or €50 per night.
Ku'Damm 101 Hotel is 1.4km away from FKK Artemis and looks good in the pictures and is close to an S Bahn.

Hotel Seehof
Lietzenseeufer 1, 14057 Berlin
€99 per night (€297 for 3 nights) and looks like less than 1km away from Artemis situated by the lake Lietzensee.
So these are my options. I am tending towards Hotel-Pension am Lehniner Platz but also Hotel (€42 per night) Messe am Funkturm (€50 per night) as these look relatively close and are on public transport.
I can recommend Kudamm 101

I have stayed at Kudamm 101 a couple of times before moving to Berlin and can recommend it. It is a nice hotel and within 15min walking distance to Artemis. For taxis, since you are on Kudamm, there are always taxis around. There is also a taxi stand across the street from the hotel. For coming back to the hotel at the end of each night, there is always a line of taxis waiting in front of Artemis. I think the cost was about 5 to 7 euros per ride.
BTW, I met IrishPussyMan and he said I should get in contact with you when you come to Berlin. Let me know if you like to meet, either in the club or some other place in Berlin.
Is There Internet Access?
Like Londonbasketcase, I am also interested to see what others say about hotels near Artemis since I will be going to Berlin for a few days in August. One question that I would add on top of Londonbasketcase's is if one is walking within say a 10 to 15 minute radius from Artemis to a local hotel, is this area safe to do so late at night?
Also, in regards to 'down' time in between girls at Artemis, is there any internet access there so I could at least check e-mail, etc.?
@Jayleesf and meeting up at Artemis

Jayleesf, thanks for the advice on Kudamm 101. €72 a night is still a bit steep for me given the small amount of time I expect to be staying there. If I was spending a lot of time there then I would be much happier to pay that.
As it is 15 minutes walking distance then I am happy to walk to and from Artemis as I am coming in August I expect the weather to be warm and so a delight to be enjoy the evening or early morning warmth.

Thanks for the inside knowledge on taxi availability near Kudamm 101. I understand that Kudamm is an extensive shopping area so I can expect tehre to be people around all the time and therefore the area should be fairly safe to walk around late at night.
If I walk I can save the €5 to €7 for a nice Kebap meat with salad and German leavened bread from the friendly local Asian vendors.

Great!! You meet my companion IrishPussyMan (IPM). He must still be in Asia doing his business and leisure there. Were you in the Philippines or in Thailand to meet IPM? We both had fun together before he went off to Asia.
My dates in Berlin are Friday, 22 August arriving at 09:10 at Berlin Schonefeld which I know is on the South East side of Berlin. Berlin Tegel is much closer to Artemis and I did not know that untill after I booked. Then again remember that this trip is meant to be sightseeing as well as punting for girls at Artemis.
I expect to hit the Artermis club after a day's touring in between say 5pm to 6pm. I know I will get bored of sight seeing if I know that there is moochie that I can enjoying. I may just go straight to Artemis from the airport and skip sight seeing. I do that when I am in Frankfurt heading direct from my hotel after checking in to Palace or Oase.
As for Saturday and Sunday depending on how I go with my touring I will spend my evenings in Artemis enjoying myself in the wellness and relaxation area and then finding a girl that will help relieve me of my manly esscene.
Knowing how bad I am about leaving the clubs I may end up staying to 5am closing time. This is why I needed to find a hotel close to the Artemis so I can walk home rather than spend unnecessarily on hotels, especially as public transport is so prevalent in Berlin.
On Monday, 25 August I leave from Berlin Schonefeld at 21:55 so this allows me to have a good full day in Berlin. I may fit in another day in the Artermis club leaving at say 8pm(?) but I should really be seeing the sights of Berlin not seeing my eyes pop out at all the naked girls. LOL.
Anyway, I am glad that I miss Wednesday dessous tag at Artermis as I do enjoy and prefer seeing the girls all naked.
If there is a brothel or private house that you recommend then maybe we cna try that as well. la Folie is one that I have heard about but appear to be mixed reviews as to positive all around.
Hopefully one or all of my dates of 22 to 25 August suit you for a visit together. As you are the experienced one I defer to your guidance and look forward to meeting you in person in the hallowed halls of Artemis for some punting.
Regards
