The problem is that about 100% of people (which includes stock traders reading something other than industry newsletters) understand M to mean million, so if he is going to use M to mean thousand, that can only cause confusion. His posts are always followed by questions about the prices he mentions, with everyone confused about what amounts he really means. So for this forum, it is wrong. It causes confusion. And he knows it causes confusion, yet continues to do it. There's no sensible reason for him to keep using M for thousand, not here at least.

I hear what you say, that in certain specific contexts it can be correct, and I believe you. The problem is that this is not one of those specific contexts. And here he creates real problems with this.

I mean, imagine if I started referring to a certain service I get at a cafe om as FS, and post here about it. It's great. Just 100, 000. And then a guy complains that he went there and requested it, then got thrown out of that cafe om, and then I say well in Bhutan, 'full service' means hand job. Technically I'm not wrong, but in practical reality I'd be an idiot.

Not sure what you mean by your final point, but I get that you prefer not to see long reports about things other than the main topic. Ok that seems like a good point. Sorry about that!
