Good day all.

I haven't been active on the forum lately, I tend to catch up much closer to an upcoming trip! My next and regular trip is scheduled for Christmas through to a couple days after NYE. This is going to be my 4th such trip in succession, however, I did mix it up by coming in June as well earlier this year. I must add, the differences are staggering, the foot traffic and bar occupants / other mongers aside, prices and girls quality / looks vary. Honestly, I have looked over my finances and at the end of the whole trip, it only makes me a difference of max $500 for the whole trip. With drinks, mongering, food, general hopping. So if crowd is something you can live with, slightly higher but much better variety of girls then busy season is nothing to avoid.

A short summary of the vague details I remember from the last trip.

WS is changing and rapidly fast. Lots of new stores coming in and not all of them are GoGos or Bars, many of them are outlets like any readymade store we find in our home countries. This is a clear ploy to cash in on the foot traffic however, prices of girls was not much different on WS. They were still quoting very high prices, 4-5 k LT (even 8 k) and 2.5+ for ST. I for one find this unacceptable, no matter what her looks are. I settled for Side streets, Soi Bukhao etc for my exercises and came down to people watch and enjoy the GoGos. My last trip was during the Euros and Brexit, it was a great atmosphere, there are many good sports bars along and around Soi Bukhaow, highly highly recommend them. I had my share of experimenting with food around Pattaya, there is a large variety of international food options, always settle on the Subway Chain or a English Breakfast. I've heard it all, other mongers shaking their heads in disapproval but less problems I have with the stomach means more time mongering. The Russians were still overpriced, there is a lot more Ladyboys around or I may have just started to notice them. No issues, nor any incidents to report. Except do not feel obliged to take a girl. Ever! Negotiate and always set a price. My friend refuses to do this and has recently moved there, lives by that advice, I do not recommend it.

I would love to add many more memories, but I have a Question! The same friend whom I mentioned above has now moved to Pattaya, he does not monger as aggressively and as frequently as he used to with me and scoffs / sighs but occasionally joins other mongers, he has been recently saying especially since the Kings passed, its a little died down, things are a little quieter, liquors are same but music is a little toned down, girls are a little less prone to pulling.

My question is, is it true? I'm sure it will be fine during the busy Christmas onwards season, nothing to deter my trip but just want another opinion. What is the current situation in Pattaya? Any worrying signs?

I just got back from Pattaya. Everything seems to be pretty normal, maybe some places will close earlier but not sure as I was usually out of the GoGo's by 1 AM the latest. But from what I experienced everything seems to be the same. However Bangkok is much quieter and most GoGo's are closed by 12 when I was there last week.

Pattaya Report, Day 1 (Monday).

I am back! This is my fourth visit to the Land of Smiles. The plan this year is to spend about 12 days here, then go up to Bangkok for 2 days to visit the Cowboy and Nana districts for the first time, then meet up with my Thai GF to visit Phuket for about a week then return to Bangkok for a few days before I head back home.

For the trip over I took EVA airline, Elite class, from LAX to BKK via Taipei. I love Elite class. This airline gives good service and has always been on time and professional. I had hoped to arrive in time to catch the 12 PM Bell bus to Pattaya, but the immigration line was long and the officer in the sub-line I chose was super slow. I don't want to take a taxi for safety reasons. They are far less safe than a bus and so much cheaper. Many taxi's don't have operable seat belts, and Thailand is one of the least-safe countries regarding auto accidents.

But I did miss the bus by half an hour. Coming out of immigration I exchanged some currency, aghast that the best rate I could find was about 34.05 (In Pattaya, I am seeing up to 34.9. I have never seen this huge difference in exchange rates between the two places be this great.) I exchanged $200, then decided to face death and get a taxi rather than wait another 75 minutes for the next bus. My luck of the draw was an older cab, hard seats and, of course, inoperable seat belts. Oh well. But, obviously, I made it safely to Pattaya. The trip took nearly 2 hours, but we were slowed by rain along the way.

Arriving at the Dynasty on Soi 13, I was upset that they have done away with the old keys and magnetic flop for a modern card reader system. Before, a simple magnet would defeat their power-down equipment, so that you could leave the AC on when you left the room, allowing you to come back to a comfortable, de-humidified room after you went out. Can't do that anymore! After a week I am switching to the Sandy Spring, where I hope they are still using the old system.

I had been in contact with Mr. E and was hoping to meet with him before his departure early Monday morning tomorrow). In the meantime, I decided to start the mongering activities by visiting a BJ bar on Soi 6. I have never done this before, as I generally like full service, with the BJ as part of the overall service. I have always had coming with simply a BJ. Not sure why, but I can count all the releases I have had via BJ in my entire life on my two hands with fingers left over. We visited some bars, and he showed me his infamous table at 808, then we went onto the street to check out a few gogos. We ended up near the WS entrance and passing by Sugar Baby. You seem to be in the same mind set as I am when I visit Pattaya. I get bored really easily. I am also a really early riser, so between 6 am -1 pm I am usually bored out of my mind.

I am in Pattaya right now. This is my third and last day in Pattaya. First day I was in Nasha Club which is good as the quality of girls of is quite good but the asking price of quality is around 6000. Also been to Galaxy Russian club which is totally a fake club as the Russian girls standing outside told us for full sex for 2000 Baht inside the room but when we went it was only private show and when we complained these girls were totally changed. So on the second day went again to Nasha girl and took a Turkish girl who was really a nice one and stayed with me for whole night and full of enjoyment. On third day the indian guy standing on the waking street took us to Deja Vu Russian club which turns to be a nightmare. The lady manger told us for best service for 6000 bath inside the hotel room. If you really like Russian girls, go to the FKKs in Germany, ton of them there. They cost 50 Euros per session (1/2 hour) plus club entrance fees (60 to 80 Euros). After you've had enough of them there, you will forget about them. They look good but they are generally lousy in the sack. I learned that from experience, after seeing 20+ Russian working girls over the 12 years I've been going to the FKKs.

It is easy to be infatuated with a profile and picture of a beautiful woman online. But let's say you meet her and everything seems to check out. But you are now stuck with her for the remainder of the trip. What if something happens, or you realize that you really aren't that much into her. Now you have to drag her around everywhere or go your separate ways. Can be very inconvenient.

You can always meet a girl in Thailand first and if you have chemistry then take her on trips. I am not saying not to do what you are doing, but just something to keep in mind.

Just curious what your goal is here. Are you looking for relatively inexpensive companionship in terms of not having to worry about barfines and the girl's fee? A potentially more serious relationship partner?

I talked to my OK Cupid GF for over 2 years before coming over, and I used my own credit card to pay for her ticket to BKK. If you do pay expenses for this girl, use your own card to pay, and chose a refundable flight. If she is scamming you she may try to talk you out of that, as she will have to provide her full information, or upon seeing she won't be able to get any money out of it, will simply refuse to come. If legit, she won't mind this plan at all. Mine didn't, and she is the real deal.
