Anyway, I'm not scare about the gang-run ***** establishments either. They are usually very safe because they just want your freaking money, and want you to be a repeat customer. They have learned long ago that they make more money milking the clients in the long run rather than rob them in the short run. Heck I think I've spent over $1 million TWD in those KTV joints over the years.

I'm talking about private WGs that works solo. They are the ones to avoid no matter how hot they are. They usually set you up to rob you blind. A common trick is to get you to their place, and their partner is crime hides in the closet or the bathroom, and as you enter they robbed you and force you to ATM to take out more money, and in extreme cases they do kill you.

This is why I think with high end places, I don't want to end up at the corner of Taiwanese newspaper of a robbery-killing.

In 2006 during the police cleaning up SanChong Tofu houses, my friend called me from his cell while cruising in that area and I could hear all the conversation. A police stopped him and asked "What are you doing here ? Any ID ?" My friend showed his US driver license and said "What people do here ? Looking for prostitutes." The police returned the ID and asked him to leave the area.

This April while the police cleaning up SanChong Tofu houses, I went to the so called "Palace", a notorious good quality house (girls pretty but rooms so bad). 3 plain cloth detectives stopped me outside the house (door closed and no pimps around). One cop asked me ""What are you doing here ? Any ID ?" I gave him the US driver license. He asked "Any Taiwan ID?" I said I don't have one. He asked why I was there. I tried to say something else but he wouldn't believe me and kept asking the same question "What is your real intention to be here?" Eventually I said "Looking for prostitutes". He smirked (implied "I win. I got you") and let me go.

If you worried about the scam and set-up, don't go to those single wh#rehouse/WG/pimp, although nothing bad ever happened to me. Go to those in groups in an area. They don't want a bad apple to fuck up every body's business and end up attracting police actions.

Many years ago you saw notes with phone # attached on everybody's car/motorcycle. I don't see that anymore because too many scams reported and resulted in police crackdown ? or nobody would eat that crap anymore ?

I've been meaning to try Yuki's or one of these other numbers in the papers and compare/contrast. However the hotel I'm staying at (The Koos Suites? ) has undergone a management change and I'm not sure how accepting they would be of a hooker walking in thru their building.

Having said that, anyone know of a good short time hotel near Pietou (Beitou) / Hsein Peitou (XinBeitou)? How does that work, you just walk in and ask for a room for short time. Do these short time places also offer girls if requested?

Also the massage place I ran into last time. And was refused service. I picked up their number. Tried to call but no luck. The lady spoke only Chinese. I think she hung up on me too! The place is on Daye Road, and its number is 28975099 if anyone has better Mandarin speaking abilities. Feel free to report. I peaked in there, and there seemed to be a collection of gals sitting up by the front.

Its looking like Asia World might be the best bet right now. Although it is the most expensive bet.

I figured that since I had asked the folks here for some help, the least I should do is to try out for myself, finding that short term hotel.

I first did a google search, only to find this article pop up about the etiquette of Love Hotels from 2002. The guy basically stated that you can get frisky with the honey at some short stay hotels - didn't name names though.

I walked up and down the streets, jeez is it humid outside, and the best place that I found that was sorta away from the hoopla was Sincere Hotel. I walked in to find out how much they lived up to their name.

The front desk featured two old ladies - the hotel wasn't impressive but it would pass for the needs I was looking for. I asked the lady how much for one night and she asked me over and over again, for how many people - one or two? I said one, how much for a hotel room overnight. She puased, looked me up and down and stumbled out with NT1300! Dunno what the standards are, but that sounded a little too pricey for me. But still I pressed on, casually: "do you rent for hour?" What ensued was a two minute stance on how this place only rents for overnight and not one hour or two hours.

I was about to head out, but on the way out I threw out the line: "my friend said he come here and you rent out for hour". She paused, looked at me again, then she said how many hours, i said 1 - 2 hours, she kept insiting 3 hours. Just to get a price I said fine, for 3 hours - and she stumbled out with 5 hundred 80 thousand. I think she meant NT580, so I just said "oh NT 500 huh? Okay" "let me see the room and I can decide if I want to take it"

A little conversating ensued between the two ladies and she took me up to room 308. Opens up the door and its this small dingy room, a small table, bathroom, bed, a fan (probably helpful) and lo and behold on the night stand there was an unused condom. Alright now to reel in the bait.

"do you provide girl with room?" The lady looked in shock at me, she vehemently denied it. I picked up the condom and said, this says you provide a girl. She said no no, we don't provide. So I told her, okay Ill bring my girl with me thats okay. I don't think she got it, and she said I couldn't do that. She kept insisting that if I rent it, it would be only for one person. What would I do for three hours alone lady? She's not a bright one this one. I even tempted her, I told her I'll pay extra if you provide lady. She still denied it - impressive.

Well seeing as though I really didn't have any plans, and I was getting hungry, I said okay and followed her outside. On the way down she asked me if I had a girlfriend and I made up something along the lines of I dont have one and thats why I need the room for 3 hours. Wanted to see where she would go with that. Nowhere.

Oh well... On the way back I tried talking to the cab driver to see whats up with some short stay hotel rooms, but conversing in English can be a little tough with the cabbies.

I'm hoping you guys might be able to provide a lead. Meanwhile I got an itch to scratch.

The majority of the love hotels do rent for either 3 hour or overnight. Most do not provide the girl. I have heard of some second-hand, but don't know which one. You can go there with your freebie if you can find or call a Yuki girl. I went to one at a hot spring resort in Xinbeitou. It was really nice with personal hot spring. Got girl to undress in hot spring if i turn around. After 2 rounds of hot spring, we showered and went to bed to relax for an hour. I put my move on for the last hour and succeeded. Lucky I guess. I tried again with another girl and she was 'shocked' that I liked her that way. I didn't press it. Just want to say my batting average isn't above .501

Ahhhh, reminds me of my younger days of hourly hotel hunting. Ok, here goes.

First, be ready to accept the fact that unless you know the pimp really well, you're not getting any goods. They know they got you once you paid for 2 hours (and yes it's 2 hours, not 3, they ripped you.) The best you're going to get is 5 face, 7 body, and pray that she's less than 30 years old. (Now of course if you get lucky and it's a busy night then they will have no choice but send the good ones out, consider then that you hit the lottery, but it's not the norm - which is why I elevated to KTV...)

Second, Xinbeitou is a bad place to monger. The thought is well, hot springs, hot girls, wrong. If you notice those hot springs are primarily for people age 40+ or for family to go and unwind. Not for young people.

Third, the real hourly hotel with action is around the Ximending area. Go to any of those hotels (you'll spot them easily), especially with entrances in the alleys. Walk in, say you need to "rest" (translate that to Chinese), and it's usually two different process.

1) The cashier at the counter will expect you to signal that you want "company" - they will check you out, and decide if you're a true john or an undercover cop. If you are foreigner you are most likely a john. ABC like me tend to get rejected from time to time (another reason I move up to KTV)

2) The braver hourly hotels will just tell you - "go upstairs" when you ask to "rest" - and upon walking up stairs a mysterious person will jump out behind you (expect this), and ask "do you need a girl?" You say "yes" and the bidding begins. They will sucker you to "6000?" Don't ruin it for the rest of us and say yes, say "WHAT! 3000!" They usually smiles (and realize you're a veteran) and say "ok, ok, 3000"

But anyway, expect around age 28-35, face 5-6, body 6-8...

I decided to bite the bullet early this morning and I called up Yuki's to have a girl sent up. It was about 4.50 AM. She did the regular NT5000 and then I said last time I paid NT3000 and she agreed. Then I tried this trick I read here in the forum, where I said if you send me good looking girl I'll pay NT4000.

At that point she basically told me to choose, she asked me if I wanted to pay NT4000 or NT3000 - "if you pay NT4000 I have to call another girl". Aha! It seems that there is a 'grading' scale - there are NT3000 girls and NT4000 Girls and NT5000 girls; maybe there are girls above that too? Here's the kicker - how do we know she aint passing off the NT3000 level girl and making customers pay NT4000!

Back to the escapade, its been one close to two hours, still no girl. I didn't bother calling back, she mentioned at around 4.50 she was closing up shop for the day. Probably for the best I don't want to get blacklisted at my own hotel.

Love motels are modeled after the Japanese concept where young couples living with their parents couldnt find a place to play. So they will not provide a girl even though they have a condom (just in case you didnt bring one). But you provide the girl, either GF/wife/lover/fuck buddy/whatever.

They rent on a short term (2 to 3 hours) for what they call a "xiu xi"-literally rest. Usually after 10PM they only rent overnight though there are places that have "xiu xi" even at 2 AM.

I usually call my provider or fuck buddy beforehand and tell her I am going to the hotel. Once i get the room i tell them and they come over and we play. Convinient clean and some of these hotels have outrageous rooms. So next time you go, have your entertainment planned ahead, they only provide the bed...

This goes back to some of my previous posts, if you live here long term then it pays to invest the time to use one provider consistently. After the first time they stop sending you the rejects and old ladies and start sending you the quality goods. I have been the with same provider for about 2 years now and she knows just what I like. She wont always recommend exactly what I want always but at least all the girls she sends are cute, pretty and worth the price.

So like any client-user relationship, time and dedication pay off.

Reminds me of an escape almost 10 years ago.

Hearing that there are young girls in the Xingmending area, I ventured out there around 11 pm. Seemed like all the girls were waiting for someone and there was no "action."

Went to a dinky hotel at like a high floor (like 10th or 12th or something) and saw the reception. Yep...looks dinky and sleezy. Asked for short time to rest and was shown a room. Yep, unopened condome, porn on TV, reddish light and perfect for the cheap and dirty fuck. Waited 20 minutes to see if they'll ask me or whatever the process is. Nothing. Called reception and asked if they offer girls or can get girls. They said No. Asked for company. They said No. Walked around the halls to find anyone who can provide. Nothing.

From that point on, found that Taipei is really dead for the casual monger. Stories of Xingmending and all that fun stuff was officially dead like 15 years ago.

I doubt Yuki's or Aiko or Jessica or whoever else is listed in the paper can ever become a regular provider. I mean just based on the sheer number of clientele they deal with.

There is no such thing as "level" girls, because like you said you can be paying $4000 and she will send you whoever she plans to send you first anyway. The only way to get quality is to get lucky, remember her name, and ask for her directly again.

Please don't play this "I'll pay for quality" trick, it doesn't work.

Sure I can relate, transient customers will never get the best service from providers. But I didnt get my providers number from the English papers but those numbers on backs of scooters. Definately more local clientel and, once I called her more than once or twice, she started to remember me. She started to remember what type of girl I liked and sometimes I would even give her feedback about the good (or bad) ones. So I might not always get the exact girl that I want, but I usually get quality girls from her.
