The location is great since it is connected to Holguien's Trade Center (a small shopping Plaza, with alot of internet cafes and phone calling stations), Carulla (a super market) and is across the street from Unicentro, the largest shopping mall in Cali. The hotel is very strict about guests bringing in women and you will be charged for any over night guests.

The hotel is in the very south of town, so if you have plans in the north, expect at least a 30 minute taxi ride. The south is full of beautiful women who are very approachable if your spanish is good. The best thing about the south is you'll see very few gringos which is a plus. Never been a big fan of the north side of town (Chipichape, Intercontinental) due to the gringo presence.

The hotel is very comfortable with a nice pool area and a very nice jacuzzi ajoining it. If you plan on working out there is a fantastic gym nearby call "Angeles" about a 5 minute cab ride away. They charge 10, 000 pesos for a visit (about 5 dollars) and is one of the best gyms I've been to in Colombia.

I would call the hotel directly to make reservations in order to negotiate the best price (this goes for all of hotels in Colombia).

This is my impression from an earlier post. Also they are NOT girl friendly . Female guests are treated as very expensive guests!!!!

The Radisson Cali sucks and it is nowhere near being worth the money that they charge. The first day that I arrived the bellman was helping me with my bags. My suitcase is really heavy and as he tried to place it on the foldable luggage rack in the room the wooden rack disentegrated before our very eyes and the bag fell to the floor. The two of us had a laughing attack after looking at the rack in splinters. Then the nexy day the maid wanted to clean my room AT 8:30 AM! And seemed irritated when I told her to come back later. When she came in the room I had the latch on the door locked. As she opened the door the wood framing strip that the latch was attached to ripped off of the wall and she walked right in no problem. I stumbled to the door and was met with more splintered wood at my feet. Now I'm worried that if I brought a wild chica in here that the both of us might wind up falling through the floor of this joint and fucking downstairs in the lobby. Keep in mind that this place is charging $160 per night. Then, the last straw, tonight while I was relaxing in my room this guy walks right in with his bags and is getting ready to share the place with me. They had given him a key down at the reception thinking that the room was empty. If I hadn't been here he could have walked off with half of my stuff and I wouldn't have known what the fuck happened.

Give the Radisson Cali a pass. It sucks!

Where is the best place to get cash when first arriving in Cali? Is there an ATM machine at the airport?

Which machines allow the largest amount to be withdrawn? I know that Davidienda in Bogota would allow 500,000 pesos per transaction. Are they in Cali also?

Yes there is a ATM upstairs.. when you come out.. BUT go to citibank if possible, 800k a shot.. I got a MILLION one time but that option is sometimes not available.. GO FAST,, Dollar taking a major shit again... p.s davidienda still gives 500k.

Hotel Obelisk is quite nice and modern. I didn't have any problem with my honey bringing in. It is a smaller hotel, and you have to pass right the reception to access the elevators, that means you probably have to register her for the night and she has to show her passport. For safety reasons I recommend always registering the girl who visits you during the night. Don't remember if they charged me some additional money for the guest.

Hotel Dann Carlton and the Interconti are just 5 min from Hotel Obelisk, towards town centre. The Dann Carlton has a nice pool on the terrace with adjacent breakfast area. Last year it was chica friendly in my case. Same with Hotel Dann, which is a bit older than the Dann Carlton but also clean. I would rate the Dann a European 3 star hotel. Breakfast is always in the Dann Carlton for both hotels, which are connected by a bridge.

By the way: I plan to go to Colombia in January.

I arrived at the Cali’s Intercontinental around 8pm and soon prepared me to go out hunting.
