I am booked for Colombia for 2+ weeks in mid Nov, and had a couple questions, or more like recommendations. Basically stuff that I wasn't able to find after extensive RTTF. And since I will be staying in MDE for the majority of the time, I am posting in this forum.
I am travelling solo, 34 years old, decent Spanish skills, average salsa / bacahta dancing skills (which I hear is good for the non-pros), and I prefer my girls semi-pro to non-pro, with GFE.
My first stop is Bogota, landing on a Friday afternoon, was the only direct flight from Toronto, so am going to spend the weekend there, then head to a different city. The cities that I want to cover are Bogota, Medellin, Cali and (maybe) Cartagena. I will be booking one way flights within the cities they are about $40 Canadian dollars (1 $ = 2200 COP), and am ok with booking flights and hotels / Airbnb's at the last minute. I don't want to have a set itinerary, in case I like / dislike one city and want to stay there longer / shorter.
-- Question #1 is, since I have 3 weekends to spend in Colombia, which of those cities are better during the week, and which ones deserve a weekend?
-- Second question: Is the weather as cold as it says in Bogota, and as rainy as it says in Medellin? I'm from Canada, so I want the warm weather, which is why I have Cali & Cartagena in mind.
-- 3rd question, I've been reading that getting girls from Facebook is a good idea. How would I add some girls, I. E. Where would I start in finding them? I am getting Tinder + (as recommended by YippieKayay), and other dating apps, so that will help.
Can't think of anything else to ask right now, but feel free to give any recommendations, or anything that might help me.
Thank you for your help, and look forward to providing updated reports during and after my stay.
If you have average Salsa and Bachata skills, you are ahead of most Paisas. Regaetton is much more popular in MDE than Salsa or Bachata. Although in la Cueva (basement of the Mansion), they'll play some Bachata or Salsa here and there to appeal to us visitors. And there are a few decent Salsa clubs near la 70. However, if you try to give the Paisas a cross body lead / dile que no, they're not likely to know what you want them to do.
Medellin is not Cuba, Puerto Rico, or the DR. The quality of dance is generally not high. Cali, however, is a different story (for Salsa, not Bachata). If you want, PM me and I can give you some music / dance ideas for Cali.
If you're looking for nice warm weather, I'd spend more time in MDE and Cali. Cartagena can be scorching hot. I haven't gone to BOG for the same reasons that you listed. It's supposed to be cold and I like nice pleasant weather on vacation. All these cities will have plenty of weekday chica options. However, Bogota, given its size, likely has more way possibilities than the others.

Saturday Night
A competing forum held a Halloween Party last night in the Poblado area. Lot of talent and eye candy, and some great sexy costumes. Supposedly, chicas from the casitas and strip bars were present, but a few I talked to were semi-pro Freelancers. Hooked up with a super cute, twenty-something Hottie. Great ass on this girl, Back at the apartment, got GFE and BBBJ from her. The sight of her in doggie, Ass Up, OMG! Centerfold quality!! Yummy Girl, got to repeat with this one.
Walked her out to get a taxi after 4 a. All the area bars and clubs had closed. Everyone and their cousin were on the streets. Saw lots of Great costumes too. It was a zoo. There were not enough cabs. And some of the taxi's were refusing fares. Food stands and one restaurant I visited had run out of food. Even though there are no Haunted Houses, they celebrate Halloween Great here.

I booked my Airbnb ahead of time for MDE. The nice apartments are booked solid in November. I was lucky and found a nice place 5 minutes from parque lleras. Travelling in a couple of weeks a well.
Personally, I enjoy spending a few hours or overnight with the non-pros or the semi-pros.
Spending a few hours with a non-pro is called a date. Can you get a regular date in the USA (or wherever you are from)? If not, forget about getting a woman to go out with you in Colombia. If you are referring to several hours or overnight with money involved, then you are talking about a professional. If a women takes money for sex, she is a pro. But if semi-pro, or non-pro, is some kind of justification for you, so be it.
If you can get a regular woman to go on a date with you at home, and you speak pretty good Spanish, you should be able to get a date in Colombia. But if you are staying at the Mansion or Parque LLeras, you probably won't a regular woman to agree to it once she figures out that you are a working girl monger.
So this morning I tried something completely different. I changed my location to Cartagena on Tinder. I found the Cartagena Tinder, as has been reported in the past, is flooded with working girls.
Instead of the usual mister naive nice guy I like to play, I decided to be a complete asshole and see how far I could get. I told her right of the bat to shut up (callate), she sent back a "jajaja soy dame de campania" to which I sarcastically told her I was surprised to hear. I proceeded to tell her I had a jacuzzi waiting in Medellin and wanted to fly her out. I told her all expenses will be paid and I would give her a good sum of money (did not mention how much). I didn't even wait for a response. I told her I would do her "sin condom" the entire two weeks she would be with and not to argue. I expected her to unmatch. Instead she sent me her whatsapp number and told me she's game.
In Whatsapp I asked her for a cedula number so I could book her on the Avianca flight. She sent me a photo of her ID which shocked me even more.
I unmatched her and blocked her on whatsapp. Honestly, I was surprised any of that worked but being hyper aggressive and just generally an asshole gets results?
Real class act.
It's scumbags like you that turn the chicas into thinking all gringos are scamming douchebags.

If you're after a non-pro or even a semi-pro and you're staying at the Mansion, you're going to need to pay for additional accommodations for those nights. Even a semi-pro will freak out if you're staying at the Mansion. FWIW I would define a semi-pro as a girl that does this very rarely and prefers to do it under cover of "dating. ".

Let's get back to trip reports and fun. I don't speak espanol and I am find traveling. Is everyone cut out for it no. I am street smart, yes I can order from a all Spanish menu I do it all the time. Sometimes it can be funny because I fuck up and look and go what the fuck is this? Also most restaurants and bars have wifi so it helps to get connected because you can use your tranlator if you have no Spanish. That can help someone. But sure it be great to be fluent in all languages but for me it's not going to happen.
I been in all kind of situations and ended up making my way through them even with illegal situations.
Medellin is a big city, some people you could drop off in Mannhatten and they would be lost even speaking English.
You just need to want to travel and fucking do it.
Fuck worrying about Spanish. Try to learn basic stuff and get on a fucking plane and travel. That's what I do.
Ok, the scenarios you described can happen anywhere you travel where the primary language is other than your own, even the sexual tourism locations, especially once you venture out of the tourist zone. Obviously learning the language is a good thing to do anywhere you go, but it's not absolutely necessary and you are not doomed if you don't, even in Medellin. Like Mr E said, you wouldn't be able to travel anywhere if that was the prerequisite. Although Medellin still isn't English friendly, there have been info available online about this place for over a decade. Many trip reports have been written about where to go and not to go. If your language skills are lacking and you have problems reading a menu there are ways around it, this is 2016, LOL.
Anyways, that's my view and I can respect the other opinions on the subject based on your experience. We don't have to agree on everything. Most important thing is that you do your research (RTFF), be respectful, be careful and have a good time, can we at least agree on that, LOL!
Shut up fng. Only 2 posts and you criticize a real member. The girl seemed okay with his offer. You don't know these girls. They don't see gringos as scammers, the guy wasn't even scamming anyone. So he negotiated a deal that he was not serious about. Plenty of people cancel on deals they are serious about. The girls are used to it. They see gringos as moneybags to be scammed. They will eat you alive if you try and be a Capn Savaho. So when you see a guy talking about developing his game be happy someone is sharing good info.

As far as the girls not seeing gringos as scammers, well they actually see gringos as walking ATM machines!

I'll add this though, all this long winded scrambling and defensiveness against a few suggestions to learn some Spanish is rather telling and actually surprising. Just got off your lazy ass and improve your skills in the language of places you want to visit. The more you know the more your trip will be enhanced. There are a lot of free apps out there and you'the be surprised how much you can learn just putting in an hour a day.
Also guys with only a handful of Spanish words in their pocket would likely be better off in a place like Costa Rica with a number of English speaking hotels that cater to tourists, English speaking chicas working as independents, and English speaking staff at several of the popular casas or MPs frequented by gringos. In fact in these venues most of your working girls know a fair amount of basic English just as result of dealing with a lot of gringos.

Thought I'the mention that since you bring the subject up. The OP himself admitted that his actions were wrong then manned up and apologized to the girl. Good move as his actions were indefensible. You though sound like you have some anger issues and feel that any random girl deserves this sort of treatment because your feelings have been hurt in the past. Boo Hoo. Please keep that horseshit in the states, is not wanted in Medellin.

Fuck worrying about Spanish. Try to learn basic stuff and get on a fucking plane and travel. That's what I do.
I completely agree, the same could be said for dropping somebody off in LOS Angeles, but if they are of Latin decent and know Spanish they'll find their way around much easier than a native English speaker from some some rural small town.
Anyway, I thought the advantage of knowing Spanish (or Portuguese) helped most with business and negotiating with non-Pros? But the ad nauseam rant around here is how long it takes to get into a local's panties.
Not knowing the language forces you to pay more? That might be true but isn't already cheaper than many locations to start with? = YES.
When I was in SP earlier this year I only had about $500 US cash available and had to make it last 28 days. It helped that after my time at an AirBnB apartment I stayed at a hostel where I got to know the owners and everybody else spoke English very well.
I had to find affordable mongering options. Lucky there is plenty of choice down market that the locals mostly use and I was never turned away despite being African-American, hmmm. I was never overcharged either; based on information I found on local web forums (in Portuguese via Google Translate) I was paying exactly what others had reported.
Ironically my mission was to connect with non-Pros via various websites and that was failing miserably mostly because I didn't know Portuguese but eventually learned "Thank You", "Hi" and "Good Bye". Even a local who works for Delta Airlines said "Man you need to learn some Portuguese because hooking up with chicks is not hard. ".
I can corroborate his premise too.
So knowing the local language is somewhat overrated. It's more important if you live there.
