Generally speaking, how is bringing girls to your hotel? Is it ever a problem with the staff at the reception?

Can you recommend a hotel for less than 300 K per night?

Searching on Travelio the idea of renting a flat monthly seems good. Some decent options for 5-7 juta (plus bills). Only issue: you have to book a minimum of 3 months if you want to view the place before you move in. If anyone has ever been through the process of renting a flat either through Travelio or any other route, do you have any advice?

Unrelated: is Travel Hotel more or less like Classic in terms of girls and pricing?

Most of the city is functioning better than normal. Why 'better'? Well, because of the protests, many people are staying at home. The roads are almost empty, the malls are very quiet, and you can actually travel to places much, much faster by Grab than normal. (As long as those places are not in the protest zone.) I'm boots-on-the-ground, living in central Jakarta. I've never seen Jakarta so un-congested. I've been to Classic for 4 consecutive nights (Wed to Sun), and the banged 7 girls. I've literally just come back from there. I'll either return there tomorrow or go to Kota Indah. It's business as normal. The only difference is that now my journey only takes 15 minutes as opposed to 30 minutes.

That's my personal experience. I hope it doesn't offend anyone.

P.S- my last post on the protests offended someone here so much that they, in private DM's, offered to meet me anywhere so that they could kick my ass. Yeah, no kidding. So, in short, you'll be just fine, if you stay away from the protest zones.

I know Singaporeans on the ground there with bags packed ready to go on short notice. But you go ahead enjoying your uncongested streets. I'm not there right now but I know who I should listen to for advice about when its safe to go again.

And yes, it IS okay for a foreigner to roam about fucking girls, because that's exactly what I've done in the last four days. Probably stretching it to ask if anyone was in Jakarta or Indonesia during that time (especially the riots). I hadn't set foot in Indonesia at the time, though I certainly remember it. I know Indonesians in my country who were sent to the airport during the riots and have never returned. But they were Chinese heritage. The target of the riots. Much of the rioting was encouraged by the government (ok Suharto and co.) and bule were left alone.

Now I'm hearing reports (all anecdotal of course) that the same thing is happening I. E. Government is encouraging the looting and burning. They may not have intended for the rioters to target the houses and property of ministers and sitting members of the government and trash them all (as is happening now) but it's definitely targeting those more fortunate than the vast majority. For now, that is the members of government, but if the anger keeps going, and they run out of targets there, who's next? Why, the chinese of course, and pretty soon the next one down the chain is the walking ATMs. Which any foreigner looking person is by default.

Add in the fact the army is ready and willing to step up and get things under control, and help out one of their old war criminal sanctioned generals who just happens to be the president, and son in law of the last dictator, and well, it won't take much to have bullets flying all over and martial law in place.

The burning and looting of police stations and Transjakarta stops incidentally have happened in Senayan (not so long ago the epicentre of activity on this forum for hotels and surrounding clubs for pickup) and in Senen. Just east of Monas, just south of Classic. And around the recently mentioned Atrium mall, once an epicentre of look and walk mall pickups.

So if you're out and about, enjoy, but keep glued to any reportiing you can get on the situation like all the Indonesians are. And be prepared to bolt. Krismon rioting is why there is an area in Jakarta called PIK. It's where the chinese built up a suburb from scratch which is connected to the tollway and a straight shoot to CGK in ten minutes. So they can all bail from the country at very short notice.

Have a think about that.

I was going to reply to EA that he's correct in that it certainly wasn't a good time to be seen walking around town for a Chinese Indonesian but as a young expat, it was the best time of my life. Girls everywhere, a collapsing currency and so much fun to be had. Prices in dollars for everything from TVs to pussy were a pittance.

I'm not in country now but my advice would be the same as back then: don't go into the heart of the riots and demos but a lot of fun can be had on the peripheries.

It is not difficult to find a hotel for $20 a night in Jakarta, but at that price point, you only get a very basic smoky, musty room in 2-star hotel. Hotel 88 Mangga Besar VII across from Hotel Travel is in that range. Cove Bona Sort in Pasar Baru, a 4 minute walk across from Classic, offers both short- and long-term stays about $15 per day, $300 per month, I met someone who had lived here for a few months.

I read every single word from the present to the 15th of July, which is 18 pages. It took me hours of reading spread out over 2-3 weeks, taking notes via Vim (for efficiency) on an. Md file, organised by categories, with highlighting and references. 364 lines, 52 kilobytes of text. So no, I haven't spent 30 minutes doing research (if I did any). Not to mention the interspersed research that I've done using the search function, which is not included in the 18 pages. You may think it's not a lot, but I like to organise the information I find in a thorough way, or I could have read 60 pages by now but it would have been pointless.

So forgive me if I ask a few questions now and then not to spend the next 2 months covering the past 4 months of reports on this forum. I keep the questions strictly to what was not covered in my research. I am happy enough with the information I've found so far, reading another 3 months seems over-researching.

The reason I ask about renting is to have an idea, a direction. I never said I'm renting a flat now, I asked about the process of doing so, to start forming an idea of what to do. But it's okay, I don't mind the rudeness, maybe you had a bad day.

Hot water may not work, wifi down, very basic bed room, minor issues etc.

For any new city.

You can stay any shared bunk bed type hostels for two days and get all ground info.

Bro, I am with you on this one. Bang these chicks and enjoy the uncongested streets, what a boon. I spoke to a few girls and they are very upset and unhappy at the whole thing, one girl from Bandung cancelled her daddy trip to Jakarta. Yeah but none said they are scared or afraid. That's the whole point, find an opportunity and make the most of it in an unfortunate event. My Q at classic do you see the same no of girls & punters or its gone southwards as many choose to stay home. And what about restaurants and bars over the weekend.

A few bus stops got set alight on a 300 metre stretch of road, some graffiti, they broke the glass panels on the MRT stations, looted a vending machine I believe, looted a couple of mansions. The US protests back in 2020 for the black who died while resisting arrest were for more destructive. You would have to go out of your way to find any signs that there was rioting in Jakarta and even then you might miss it driving past.

If you are a police officer, crooked politician, maybe you should be a little worried, but it doesn't seem sex tourists looking for $30 BBFS have any reason to worry.

I'm sure it didn't stop the bespectacled weenies in their crocs hightailing it back to Singapore though.

Remember that someone once famously said "Every adversity brings with it, a seed of an equivalent or greater benefit."

Some people, esp those who aren't even in the country, seem to think that Jakarta has turned into some sort of a war zone, when the reality is actually very different.

Classic T2 seems to have the same numbers of girls as usual. Yesterday, there were a few less than usual. I asked a couple of the girls why that was, and both mentioned that it was due to it being a Sunday. Makes sense. Same number of girls in Classic T5, as per normal. And there's still the same number of clients. T2 was buzzing, even on a Sun.

The malls are much calmer. I haven't visited any bars / clubs in the last week (I've been busy doing press-ups on top of a cutie or two), so not sure about them. My gym, surprisingly, is also quieter. Possible because it's in a very high office-worker area and a lot of people are now working from home due to the protests.

Today, I had a cutie visit me at my apartment. No mention of protests, no fear of leaving her house, no problems with traffic and she arrived right on time.

Tomorrow, I'll probably hit Classic / Kota Indah, depending on my mood.

I'm totally loving the mongering here right now.
