Sosua is a ghetto and all attempts at keeping places "nice" eventually fall by the wayside. There are rats, bugs of all sorts and mosquitos always vying for dominance over the attempts to civilize Sosua.

The Europa is poorly managed. This has always been so. When the occupancy was low, it wasn't as much of a problem, but now that is different as they are catering to a different crowd then I would choose to hang out with. Also, forget about reservations as they will sell any available room and then tell you they never got your reservation. The Europa is a lousy hotel run by a con artist owner.

You have hit on some of the finer points of Sosua. You have basically uneducated girls/women who can't for the most part even follow you thru a conversion from pesos to dollars, but nevertheless dominican girls are great to fuck, at least the ones not caught up in the game to hard.

To me this was the downfall of Sosua...when Jet Blue started importing guys cheaply from NYC and along with it the Hip hop culture everything changed for the worse...prices..experience..vibe.. quality of girl working..pretty much everything. Sosua used to be a Latina cultured small town with a magic to it inhabited with mostly Euro tourists and a smattering of american guys (of all races) that appreciated the Carribean beat of of place. That has changed...some would say for the better. I personally don't go there anymore except on the rare occasion.


Thanks for this report Artistyp. Having hung with you in Peru and knowing a bit about your tastes and your travel style, I appreciate the fact that you stepped up and told some truths about what is going in in Sosuer.

Fantasy and I go way back to when Sosua was way different then now. New Garden is basically the replacement of The Palace with all the same benefits and problems.

Fantasy, your remarks about Diego are spot on, as are your description of some of the guys wandering around Sosua these days. To us black and white has never been a thing. Hell, if it was, what the f*ck would we be mongering in the DR for? The problem with Sosua isn't really a color thing at all but rather an importation of hip hop culture along with the guys that propagate it.

They have buzz-killed the place, to be honest. That's okay, in the process they have created their own little paradise and there are plenty of other places farther away that Jet blue and other discount carriers don't service. That is where you find me these days.

I am In Sosua right now at the Europa. Pretyy decent hotel set up well for mongering. But Sosua has changed it is crowded and the caliber of chica is low. Quite a few hip-hop types here. Not too bad , but not good. The europa is a pretty good. 50 a nite large room electronic safe. But the quality of chica is down. Hardcore dirty looking girls. Doubt I`ll come back.

I think he was making an observation of a reality not neccesarily a negative one.

I imagine that the Europeans, feel very similarly about the smattering of American guys of all races you refer too. They probably feel that the Americans changed "their" Sosua in the same manner that some accuse the "hip hop" culture that you say now permeates Sosua.

While in Sosua I did not see any of the harmful, dangerous and unlawful things that are usually whether right or wrong attributed to hip hop culture.

The fact that some of the girls are more comfortable with someone who looks similar to them, but still are social and do business with those who don't isn't a crime or a bad thing. Go to spring break in Daytona as an African American..you will have a good time, but you may not mesh as well with the "anglo" types and there is nothing inherently wrong with that.

I don't mean to challenge or condemn you, I just wanted to offer an alternate view. I just always find it funny when people say that this group or that is ruining a town that they frequent for *****s/sun/beaches in no particular order. Aren't we all "ruining" the town in some way or another.

This be my 3rd trip to sosua in 3 years. I be there 4/12/08--4/18/08. I been reading some of you'll reports and I'm not to happy if the girls are going down (trashie). It look like I'm going to be patient and hope I can find something nice. I have a? For any one to answer. Is there anywhere that I can find some Asian girls? I know I'm in a Latin and Hati enviroment, But there got to be somewhere a asian massage or call girls ads. If anyone have any info please send. PS: and yes I know I'm asking for to much. Ha ha ha

It varies depending on who owns the unit and where your room is. Last time I was there rooms were $75 bucks and it was alright if not pricey for a room in the ghetto. Nice pool and decent security, but they nickel and dime you.

The rooms are right there pretty much on the main drag, between Europa and the bj bar.

There are pretty women to be had if dominican snatch is your thing. However when they come ugly they come REALLY ugly.

This summer I nicknamed the girls "prison sluts" due to the many scars and noticable defects they have.

Also keep in mind that the caribbean is really dirt poor. At least in south america and asia there are enough cheap resources to keep their looks up.

Make up and such things are very expensive in the DR. Medical care is not that great either.

The talent was never great in Sosua, but with the influx of NYC newbies and guys from Costa Rica the prices have gone up drastically. My first trip to DR, we spent 9-20 USD per girl. While a weaker dollar hasn't help the cause, gone are the day where 500RD wasn't considered an insult and 1000RD was top dollar for a hooker.

Sosua is packed with beautyful girls - but you must know where to find them.

"Sosua is what you make it." Could not be said any better. My first trip in January was definitely a learning experience. Did not think I would ever return.

At the urging of some acquitances from my first trip I returned for 1 week in March and had a fabulous time. I was completely familiar with the area and hit the ground running and never looked back. You need to look at the glass as being half full rather than half empty. There are always going to be drawbacks.

I agree the girls are not top notch but I was lucky enough to meet someone I had a good vibe with and for the most part I stuck with her.

If you are looking for better girls then Santiago or Santo Domingo is the answer but you need to know the language or have some connection for these cities, although many of the girls in Sosua come from these cities. There seems to be more Haitians in Sosua every time I go. Anybody else notice this?

But the so called hip hop types are just there for a quick hit, and fast fun, they are young. They usually get the street girls with alot of mileage. As I've stated before the key is to ELEVATE YOUR GAME. The D. R. Has so much to offer, improve your spanish and venture outside of sosua. Sosua is sex plain and simple. Sorry dude, no mean to antagonize, but your point is BS. Hip-hop types aren't what has Sosua in the predicament that it is. If such were the case, Rio de Janeiro, Medellin and Lima Peru are 3 examples of what used-to-be great monger markets that got fucked up other than hip hop types.

Let's change that "hip-hop types" term and replace it with "desperate idiots." I assert that because only a completely desperate idiot would allow an otherwise undereducated (maybe illiterate), and probably more financially-desperate chica out-hustle and out-negotiate him, yet they do it all the time, and tell their friends. And I'm not talking about newbies either. There goes your market right there.

The "hip-hop types" aren't the reason that the Europa or Sosua is what it is. It was the folks before them. Funny enough, the Europa was the better of the mongering lodging options about 3-4 years ago. These hardcore non "hip-hop types" flocked in abundance to such 5 star establishments as The Sosua Palace and the place across the street with the name that I forget now. How soon we forget and cast blame.

Now some of that same non "hip hop type" crowd have inhabited Medellin, and prices are very laughable now. Case in point, imagine a full service massage place go from $30USD to $80USD, and not due to exchange rate. I present you with Loutron in Medellin. "Hip hop types" didn't cause that. Same with Help in Rio. Same with Tequila Rocks in Lima.

Hip hop has nothing to do with it, nor race. It's common sense or lack of usage of common sense by desperate idiots. I rest my case.
