Firebird, as others already said, trains are the way to go. Especially the Yamanote line is very convenient. It is the circle line that also takes you to Shinagawa, Shinjuku, Shibuya etc.If you're in one of the hotels near Takeshiba station (e.g. InterContinental), I would recommend you skip the short ride on the Yurikamome to Shimbashi. Instead, take a 5-minute walk to Hamamatsucho station. Here you can take the Yamanote to Ueno (direction Tokyo/Ueno).This way, you only need 1 ticket. If you are unsure what fare to get, just take a 130 yen ticket. When you get to your destination, use the fare adjustment machine near the exit gates to pay the remainder of your trip.Really, it is easy. And trains are another good place for some eye candy.[/QUOTE]I think it is kind of funny..... you can afford 15,000 for soapland but want to save 150 and walk another 10 mins?By the way, I while was living in Tokyo my house is one block away from to Hotel Intercontinental, the walk to Hamamatsucho is about 10mins (if you walk fast like the Japanese). Takebashi station is 1 min from the Hotel,so if you don't know the way to Hamamatsucho you might get lost, IMHO: better take the Yurikamome Sen to Shimbashi. After all you can see the Takebashi Station from the hotel. But than we are assuming yiu are staying at Intercontiental..... you might be on the other side of Tokyo Bay, Royal Park Hotel, or Park Hotel which is a 5 mins walk away from Shimbashi station. Like what Wabbit said, don't bother about how much to pay for tickets, once you reach desinations, go to the train master office at the exit and pour out all the coins and let him top up the ticket for you. They will not take mor then what is needed. Japan is a Safe and honest place.But all in all, why bother? a Cab ride from Tokyo bay is only 3000+ to Shinjuku or Ueno.... that is only 1/5 of what you pay in soaplandCheers!

Darkman2, I have been reading many of your reports in the Tokyo forum and have been learning a lot. I have "mongering" knowledge of other countries but none of Japan. By the way it was I who suggested to take a cab from the hotel to Ueno so I have no problems paying. Hey, I am even entertaining getting delivery service from agencies such as Asian Mystigue and willing to pay. All in all with all the info I received I realized that train signs are in English and the train system can be handled with ease. As Wabbit mentioned that is one way to mingle with the "natives". Most probably I will stay at the Intercontinental - centrally located to where I need to be. Last week, I had wonderful time enjoying the Orchard Tower "Talent" in S'pore. Do not take asian mystique, all of them have over the hill bodies, old, worn out and used, you wont get the shibuya young looking girls or the Japanese girl tht you imagine you will get, you will definitely be disappointed.On the other hand service is good but i find it hard to get through the looks , the wrinkles and the stretch mark which seems to be their speciality.The Isabella may look like a hot body but take my word for it.
