Medellin Reports

This is only my opinion, it is easier to avoid this kind of thing if you don't let anyone get close enough to put their hands on you. That means avoiding crowded places where you can't move freely and staying aware of people approaching you from the side or the rear. I'm referring to Mayorista, Centro etc, especially after dark. Around Lleras / Provenza / Poblado it's not as big a deal, even at night. The sketchier the are, the more important it is to prevent people invading your personal space. We have to know this if we are going to wander around in the dark in high crime zones.

I don't display valuables (mobile phone, flashy accessories, etc.) in public places. If I want to make a call or look up something on the Internet I'll duck into a sidewalk cafeteria, order a coffee or beer (usually beer) and assess my surroundings before doing what I need to do. I haven't had problems worse than lowlifes scoping and clocking me. They tend to stand down when they realize they won't have the element of surprise. So, long story short, try not to get surprised.

Even turned on my laptop and re-scanned it in a machine. Bascially they are doing sweeps this time of year I think and need to put pressure on to show they are serious. You can't blame them, and I totally understand why. Just be patient and give yourself enough time at the airport. Lately all the avianca flights have been extra packed with lines. I just ususally politic it so I can cut ahead if you are persistant enough.

MDE 4 times, everytime hassles, twice full body x-rays, and then x-rayed again in panama 2 hours later when connecting thru to mexico. Once they even cut my lock and opened my checked bag before calling me into security room. 15+ times out of Bogota never a problem.

Went to check it out yesterday since I frequent the Setenta area. It is on the ground floor of the apt tower behind the Exito. The metal gate will be locked but the receptionist will see you to open the door. It's very basic accommodations. Four rooms and all have like a futon mattress on the floor for the action. Two chicas on duty when I was there, both doable for me. Single shower and bathroom separate from the massage rooms. 140 k for hour of full service and the dreaded 20 k multa to see and leave. I was told they have up to 4 chicas at a time. The website above as all the other details.

Its not rocket science. But, its a learning process and its a fun one at that.

Black Page, you post a lot of opinion. But, scanning through pages of your post history, I can't see that you have posted any trip reports in recent history. Are there any recent mongering experiences you can share with us? Constant posts consisting of mere opinion and speculation simply dilutes the value of this forum. I am in Medellin at least twice a year, but no longer make trip reports. Not because I am trying to keep all the info to myself; it's just that there is nothing new for me to say. I fly in, fuck a ton of women, then leave. Nothing different on this trip then the previous, except some new faces in the rotation. I don't do casas or strip clubs or street walkers, so nothing for me to report there either.

BUT, like Black Page, I been in this game long enough to answer any questions any newbies have on how to operate in Medellin (I think Black Page knows Cartagena as well).

He was doing it with his cell phone and was holding it deliberately in a way to let you know that you were being photographed.

Yes, I don't feel like writing reports, when they would be the same as the many previous ones, by me or others. When I experience something unusual or unprecedented, I report it.

When I wrote of the BJ on the backseat of the taxi cruising Medellin around 2am one year ago, with a girl collected from street, and even another time with the girlfriend of the driver (Diego) sitting at the front seat and accusing him to get hard for the view, I was called "Darth Veder of the night" by another veteran of this forum. LMAO. I liked that so much that I still remember the title. Thank you my friend. It was fun. I had much more fun than what I could have had in any club.

PS: Opinions, when authoritative, are [I]guidelines[/I]. Guidelines are more useful for newbies than a grey boring list of fucks. When an opinion is not considered authoritative, it can be trashed easily. No damage. Everyone is happy and gets what he wants.
