I will be back in Rio in a few weeks and plan on spending more time in Lapa by the Arch. This club you went to, can you eat diiner there? I plan on going with a few people and eant to see the live bands, They serve food there? Do you know if you need to make a reservation if they do?
Geo
Yes, they serve food there. I didn't get a look at the food menu, though. My tourguide/landlord pointed out some people eating and said "Look..tourists eating dinner". She basically said locals only order appetizers at this club. To get a table on the first floor where the live band is, you will need a reservation. I think the 2nd floor is first come/first serve, and after we finally got a table we saw other people eating there.
Intro
So I was wearing shorts and flip-flops and they didn't want to let me into the Whiskeria, which is right next door and is called "Whiskeria Manhattan".
Dress code. This is good information. Based on what you saw, what was the minimum acceptable dress code?
The pretense of a dress code is amusing. I think whiskeria gentlemen and termas mongers all end up buck naked fucking the same set of garotas in the same cabines. Maybe some garotas are super classy whiskeria-only at Cancun, but at least at 4x4 the same always troll both areas.
As for this girl named Milena at 4x4, AZN, my serious sympathies. Perhaps you could have left the cabine and asked mgmt for a different girl to finish the session, given that you had bought a full hour. Granted, this is my newly adopted strategy for dealing with "sim, completa"s who don't deliver the culo, and I haven't tried it myself, so I can't claim to have walked-the-talk yet.
I believe some other mongers here have lodged an early-session complaint on a bad girl and gotten another replacement garota for the remainder of the paid time, if I am not mistaken. Can you discriminating consumers sound-off on the topic?

Yes, you can eat there. The food is very good and reasonable priced. No need for reservation at the top floor.
Think the focus is totally wrong if all you can talk about with a GDP is your performance compared to other mongers.

Completely. If you are telling that shit to a GDP, she is silently laughing at you.

OK enough
Get over it. I haven't seen one particular race that's truly preferred over the other in Brazil. The gals will tell you anything if they think it will make you like them more and have a session with them (ie., give them money). I've had garotas tell me that they didn't like Asian men and that they have small dicks but it has never stopped an Asian guy from having the time of their life in Brazil. Hell, the Asian guys I've met all had big smiles on their faces just like everyone else.
I've had garotas tell me that they love bald men. Since I'm bald I ask them why and I always get some line about how bald men are sexy and good in bed. Yeh right! I know it's all bullshit but who cares. You have to take anything you are told with a grain of salt.
When I'm in Europa I have no problem hooking up with Caucasian ladies nor dames of other nationalities (granted that many of them are working girls). Does this mean that European women prefer black guys? Of course not. They like the dinheiro!
Doesn't matter what color or nationality you are; if you are decent looking guy with money, a nice disposition, good hygiene, and treat the ladies well - you can always get plenty of buceta in Brazil. It's not that way in all countries, but in Brazil (and especially Rio) it is.
So if you want to feel special and preferred then more power to you. Live the fantasy. Just remember that I'm better than all of you bastards.
"O tempora, O mores" - DSK
We are making up levels of preference to make an assessment to come to a conclusion which race a GDP would prefer! Come on brother mongers, let us be honest with each other, they prefer GREEN or what ever color the monetary coin is in your country. Some might take what ever legal tender you might have in your pocket at the time, being real, pound, dollar etc. We make these brazileras seem more than what they are. Mental note people, they are toys. Do we treat them with respect? . Yes. Do we partake in the culture? Yes, of course we do. Let us not forget one major part of the equation. It is all about the MONEY and like a Cheap Lawyer, they will twist and say anything if the price is wright. It is your Dollar and they will say anything you want to hear as long as the money does not run out.

Day 3 - Termas Solarium
It was a Saturday night, so I decided to go to Solarium. I wanted to try to take the bus there from Copacabana (R. Barata Ribeiro/Princesa Isabel). I looked at Rio Onibus routes online and they showed a 125 bus that was supposed to be labeled (Central - Jardim (Hotoro)) and ran every 20-25 minutes. So I waited on R. Barata Ribeiro for this bus but kept seeing the other 125 (General Osario) bus which came every 5 minutes. After about 35 minutes, I gave up and took a cab. I want to try to take the bus to Jardim Botanico again on Monday. Does anybody know of a bus that I can take from Copa to Jardim Botanico? I think the 583 might, but I am unsure.
I arrived at Solarium at about 6:30p. There were about 25-30 girls and about 10 guys, so a pretty good ratio. I ended up chatting with some little blonde named Dominique. I'd say she was a cross between Cameron Diaz and Elisha Cuthbert, but more on the Diaz side which brings her looks down a couple of notches. She said she has been working there for 2 months. I think she was actually telling the truth, since I didn't see her at Solarium back in May when I went a few times. Seems these GDP's like to lie and say they've only been there a short time in order to appear to have less mileage or wear-and-tear. Can't say I blame them. Who wants to test drive some beat up used car anyway. Ha. So we ended up going to the cabine an hour later. The session was pretty good, nothing earth-shattering. I'd say a 7.75/10. I didn't bother to get her number. In retrospect, I'm not even sure why I picked her as she wasn't anything special in the boite in terms of "foreplay". I guess I'm a sucker for the cute girl-next-door type.
After the session, I returned to the boite just to chill for an hour chatting with some girls. Saw some prospects for my return on Monday, which is free cabine night (R$70 off with a coupon)!!! And yes, they are open on Monday even though it's Independence Day! I eventually left at 9:30p - total damage was R$285 (entry+room+girl) excluding drinks.

Azn Safado....
....thanks for your daily report, I really enjoy it.
Just 2 fast questions, how is the situation at the beach right now ? Besides the weather, I guess nice, from the photo posted from Bimbo Boy, I mean pros in front Caesar Palace hotel, for example, or you did not check ?
So far, which terma, for girls and price, you like more ?
I am sure somebody will suggest you how to get to Solarium without taxi.
Keep on have fun
Cheers

128, 136, 154, 434.
583 looks like the Cosme Velho / Leblon Metro bus and should manage it eventually - it's one of the circulars.
But apart from the provisos about which bits you want to go to/from (JB covers quite an area), remember the traffic on those routes and especially round Lagoa can be horrendous. Worth keeping some numbers in your head and bus change in your pocket then, maybe on a nice day, just leg it, and grab a bus if you see one. I only go to JB for it's many other attractions. Couldn't tell you about the terma there.
Hope this helps.

Lukasek,
I have been to Posto 9 in front of Caesar Park Hotel on a Sunday a few times. I never really can spot out the pros there. I have seen some Solarium girls drinking juice, but other than that, there just seems to be a lot of people in that Posto 9 area. Maybe I just have a bad eye for pros. One giveaway is eye-contact, but I haven't really had any while on that beach.
Today is very bad. Rainy, so no chance to go to Posto 9.
I think for value, 4x4 is still the best if you can get a session before 5pm for the price of R$210. After 5pm, the price at R$250 is getting close to the same as the Copa termas although you get a full hour, so there is still some good value there. It's just with this damn inflation, Centro is getting up there in price and gone are the good ol' days. For my taste, I like how the Solarium girls look the best. For performance in the cabine, I have had my best experiences at Monte Carlo and Luomo. I have also had the most luck pulling girls from Luomo to go to my apartment. I really like Mondays and Tuesdays at the Copa termas though, because I can use the promotional coupons from their respective websites at Solarium on Mondays and at Monte Carlo on Tuesdays. This cuts the cost down to about R$215 for Solarium and R$200 for Monte Carlo.

Posto 9 is an excellent spot for meeting hot regular girls. If you want to meet pro's, move down a bit in front of Caesar Park (or head to the beach in front of Othon Palace, in Copa).

Azn Safado,
good idea to use coupon ;) but I was not able to find it in the webpage of solarium, neither if you click on promocoes it does not appear, so where is it ?
On the contrary I noticed the coupon at luomo gives you entrance 50% off but everyday, not only on tuesday.
Sperto, just to be sure I understood good, all posto 9 is good and the part of it in front of Caesar is the best for pro, right ?
I always been in front of Caesar Park, that's why I am asking.
Thanks

You can absolutely meet regular garotas on that beach, if you are in good shape and not an obvious monger, a few will even speak English as it is a higher class of people, I really like Ipanema Beach better.
There are a small handful of Solarium & Centaurus GDP's plying their wares in front of Caesar Park, it is a totally different scene than Othon beach in Posto 5, worth the trip for a few hours just for the eye candy, if nothing else!

Lukasek,
You can go to this URL and enter in your name and email address:
http://www.solarium.com.br/festadointernauta.php
They will email you the coupon, which is good for only 15 days from the date of issue. So don't submit a request too early. I usually do it a day before my trip.

It doesn't work. There is no "enviado" in the text, and there is no dates as well.
What am I doing wrong?
