I am 53 and I struggle to get to grips with technical things like proxy servers.
Would one of you technical types please be good enough to post a blow by blow account of how to identify a proxy server when you are in AD and how to set the thing up on your laptop so that the little bugger works.
I tried last time I was in AD but to no avail. I am back next month and I would like to go armed with a checl-list that actually works.

its probably easier to set it up when your out of the country, as the proxy server sites are, or used to be, blocked as well.
when i was there i used a proxy called "onspeed"
the other way around it was using the companies vpn. which was the better of the 2 options
onspeed is about gbp 25 p. a.
however, things change all the time, so it might be an idea to confirm this proxy still works in the uae and they havnt blocked it
