The budget airlines sure screw around with credit cards. With Cebu Pacific they make the booking but say pending confirmation. Often this status status for about 2-5 days depending on their vibrations...

Don't want to drag this out more than needed but I tried with a Master card and a Visa card, I have used both cards all over the world no problems.
The end result was the same with both cards, I went all the way through the booking process and hit the confirm key at the end I was then given an error message but it didn't say it was refused! after trying the second time with the same outcome I was then worried maybe I had booked 2 flights so I rang my card issuer to check no money had been taken as Tiger say they have a strict no refund policy even if you double book a flight It cost me 75SGD to change my flight from Manila to Bangkok with Singapore airlines.
By the way I have flown with Air Asia, Jetstar Asia and Value air and always use my credit card online as I live in England.

If your card is rejected try a card issued by another bank.
I have two Aussie issued cards, both expensive to use & frequently rejected.
The Aussie banks are shit scared of fraud in Asia.

I have a citibank issued card which works everywhere, anytime.

Stayed in a Swiss Chalet suite about a year and a half ago - $52 and it was a great room with canopy bed. Only problem was the steps. Also, the steps in the room, i.e., the bathroom is another flight up inside the suite.

For $75 it looks pretty nice and reserving online was SIMPLE! Last time I was in AC, I stayed at ABC. A very nice hotel, for the price, but the room interior was a bit much for my liking. Not to mention, I think being a little closer to the action will be good.

I like the honor system with follow-up confirmation a few days before your arrival, but the lack of a confirmation number and guaranteed reservation always a bit worrisome. Same process as ABC used, and that worked out just fine. Hope Pacific Breeze doesn't loose my reservation being that I made it so far in advance of my trip.

I had the same problem with Tiger Airways. You need to make sure your card is signed up for the "verified by visa/mastercard" service. Visa.com has more info about that.

Sometimes you turn up have to wait quite a while for your room to actually become available. At PB just leave your baggage in secure storage with the porter & go have a drink/meal in the dining room. Bonus : you can get the phone numbers of the (extremely fuckable) waitress's for off duty action ;)

You are right, this IS The PI.......Expect the unexpected. Just because it should be that way, doesn't mean it will be so.......LOL I guess the positive thing is this is not a major travel period, from what I remember.

What is the quality of the waitresses these days? What is the going rate for a "hottie"? Does one need to go somewhere else or are they OK coming to your room in the hotel they work? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Normally, it hotels when waiting for a room, you'll be at an almost deserted bar, or, in an almost deserted restaurant where the waitress will simply pop over and drop off whatever you've ordered before skipping back behind the scenes....

One cannot offer to buy her a drink nor really try and engage her in conversation too much (being mindful she is on the clock), so, how does one metamorphose this situation into a telephone number and happy moist feelings?

Come on guys, it is not Rocket Science. The opening B/S lines work well in most places, but in the Phils they seem to work better than anywhere, mainly due to the staff being so ''keen to please'' and the "Fuckability Factor" of the LBFMs that these places employ.

Any other ideas???

They will flirt with you. All are 'available' usually. If you llike one & she appears to be receptive (most are), just hand them a card with your cp number (and name?) and ask them meet you after work. That's it.

Nice quiet location with 24 hour security guard. Neighbor breaking the lease so can rent short term if needed so he doesn't lose deposits.

5 min walk to Perimeter Rd, aka Don Juico. Rent is P10,000 for one year lease. Other options are available for shorter terms. It's non-furnished but options are open on that as well.

No bad dogs or roosters nearby!

I will be traveling between Thailand and the Philippines. I have never visited Angels city, and I any thinking about visiting. Can anyone tell me the differences between Angels City and Bangkok/Pattaya. I am trying to best spend my time.

Your question has been asked/answered/debated many MANY times on this thread. Please search for Pattaya and you will see many informative opinions.

Quick summary : Bangkok is a big crowded brash city roughly comparable to Manila.

Pattaya is a beach resort, AC is a town next to an ex millitary base.

Thai hookers are all business but will do anything you want (PSE). Phils hookers are shyer & act like GF (GFE) YMMV.

Prices in both cities are roughly comparable.

AC hookers usually bareback, this is not an opinion about this just the fact.

Thanks Amavide about the advice in the search function. But I have visited and searched pattaya/bangkok many times. My question was how AC compared to Pattaya / Bangkok. I am trying to decide if i should make the time to go to AC for 2 or 3 days. Or if this time would be better spent in Thailand?
