Hello all,
I live in New York and visit Mumbai every year. I am as many of you on this forum say a "firangi". I read the Mumbai forum quite often and always look at the pictures. I have never mongered In Mumbai before and was hoping someone could set me up with some contacts for some girls I would see in TV commercials or movies and tell me roughly how much it would cost. Money is not too big of a deal as long as the girl is worth it.

Thank you for the information. Well, I certainly do not want to wait for 6 months to get in touch with you guys! So I guess I will subscribe instead of waiting it out. My only concern is the Credit card bit as it is an official one and I do not want to take any chances at all. I know I'm being a bit panicy but I am simply not comfortable.
Do you know how to go about the cash payment option? Tried to browse the site but the Pdf file providing instructions won't open up. Is it safe? Another option would be if any one of you senior members could volunteer to pay up for me and I could meet you guys and make the payment in cash. (I doubt any one would volunteer though as no one would trust an unknown person). I cannot tell people I know to do it for me for obvious reasons!

Before everything, would like to say a note of appreciation and thanks to all the senior mongers like Santa, EL ( your kerala report was amazing..i mean it can be published as a research paper if they have a journal for mongers...lol), JSF, and all others who have contributed so much and made the forum a one-stop information destination for all new mongers like me.
Been in UK for last 8 years so hardly got much chances to monger in India except for the occassional trips to India. Well, I have posted the number below and I don't think it is the same one that you have. She does sound promising and I am pretty tempted. I always thought I was good enough to bargain and get the rate down (I have done pretty well till now). But this Nawalkar lane experience has made me reconsider my beliefs! Because if I do not know the correct rate and pay up a little higher upfront the first time, I will be setting a high price for myself for all my future visits (which is something that has happened at Nawalkar I guess). True that I need to go check out the girl, accommodation, attitude etc and then determine a rate, I am not sure whether I will hit the nail on the head.
Any tips how I should go about this? (I definitely want to visit this place once)

As for the number, my posting was on before yours (yours needs to go through a moderator first, so it gets delayed a little) so I did not see the number. I passed by Kashish in Thane last week and found no sign of it. The corner paanwala said it closed six months ago and one of the bystanders said they are in Thane East with a new name.
At Mira/Dahisar bars, customers were not really "arrested". Their names were noted down (without verification) and Rs 1200 was charged as fine, for which receipts were issued. They were let go after that, I was called at midnight by a friend who did not have the 1200, and I had to send someone to help him.
