Colombia Jake got what he deserved as an exploiter of vulnerable minors. And we should actually have no tolerance for that in our hobby because people like that threaten the legitimate, healthy, and legal dynamic of casas / strip clubs in Colombia. If we should be angry towards anyone. It should those types of exploiters. Not the women of Medellin who are discovering social media and globalization. And not the gracious people of Colombia who want their country to grow in a rapidly changing country without becoming too much of a sex tourist destination when there are so many other great things the country has to offer.
In short: be thankful that you were blessed to experience Medellin at a unique time in its history. And were able to reap the benefits of some of experiencing some of the most beautiful women in the world. You should want to give back to Colombia in some small way / shape / form.[/QUOTE]I agree. The point I'm making is that if you chase after the most sought after chicas all the time (and most guys new to the scene always do because rather than search for their own hidden gems, they are always asking other mongers to "recommend" chicas to them), then of course you end up with chicas that want 250k+ for ST, which in turn makes newbies (and vets who used to get her for 125k when she was new to the game) feel like Medellin "is ruined by overpaying gringos". Most of the guys here are on fb chasing after the same handful of popular pros with 300+ gringos as "Facebook Friends". For them, it's a seller's market where they can sell their love to the highest bidder. You can't win in such an over-inflated economic situation.
I pride myself in finding chicas who are hot but not too plugged into the gringo prepago scene. Having some spanish skills allows you to branch out like that. If by chance one of these chicas gets "discovered" by gringos and starts buying the fake tits, iPhones, designer clothes, starts getting trips to Cancun, and starts wanting more money then what I would normally give her, then I refresh the roster with a new batch of under the radar hotties and fuck the shit out of them before they've had the chance to "level up".

I agree with you about how financial means and appearance affect prospects for getting sex in the US. Taking it a step further, I think those factors are less important in direct proportion to what level of entanglement and commitments a guy is willing to accept. Take the extreme example of popular wealthy entertainers and athletes who have very easy access to groupies, they don't need to make any commitments beyond what is "chump change" to them (travel, meals, gifts, cash etc.). It's no different than what happens with average joes in the developing world. Back to the example of the sports and entertainment stars, equally wealthy and prominent women expect status in the form of marriage or exclusivity before they give it up. For Hollywood stars and pro athletes, hot spot NY or LA clubs are their New Life.

Also Bank of America will ship Colombian peso's to your house, I bought some to cut down on the amount of times I'll be standing at a ATM.
I got 1,330,000 COP for $501.41, figure I may have lost about $35 on the deal but beats getting stabbed / robbed at some ATM.
Also don't forget to tell your bank you'll be using your debit card in Colombia before you leave so they don't turn it off.
Side note, about 40 pages back a guy said he was quoted 500,000 COP by a dancer in FaseII, is that right? I thought they were in the 180,000 to 200,000 range?

[/QUOTE]At todays rate that's not a bad deal. ATMs aren't dangerous, but centro at night can be dangerous if you are alone. I stayed in El Poblado and just used the ATM machine at a convenience store. Never had an issue. I could take out 600 k at a time. More than enough for a day.

If you want to save money hit up the casas or find and negotiate with independents. Casas can be as cheap as 30 k for a half hour (the shit hole casas), and as high as 120 k for an hour (at places like New Life and Energy). I'm not an expert on pricing but usually casas are not only cheaper but have standard pricing.
If you're hitting up strip clubs in centro at night I would go with someone else who is experienced with them.
Keep something in mind if you are negotiating. The girls usually start high. Especially if you look new.

When you need an ATM, go to one, preferably inside a bank, near your hotel, go back to the hotel, put it in the safe, except for what you need.
If you hit a Centro ATM then start visiting casas and clubs, you're just asking for trouble.
The rate you got from your bank is reasonable. With ATM and conversion fees, you'll only do slightly better at an ATM.
