I'll be visiting Chiang Mai in Oct / Nov of this year. And I'm currently researching where I will stay. Which obviously needs to be guest friendly.

I've found a ton of websites that recommend 'guest friendly' accommodation in the Chang Moi / Loi Kroh Road area. But the lists are seemingly limited to 3-star (ish) budget-conscious guesthouses, lodges etc.

With regard to the four and five stars places (and there seems to be quite a few in the vicinity) - is it simply a case of e-mailing each of the hotels to see what their guest policy is. Or is there an up-to-date list somewhere on the interweb that focuses more on the 4/5-star hotels?

Any 4/5 star recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It's a huge hotel, the ground floor and facilities are impressive including gift stores, lounge areas and a nice garden area. The rooms are really spacious, I had a 24th floor room with river view which I and the girls enjoyed in many senses, LOL.

The pool area renovation (2nd floor) is finished by end of September.

It's out along Chang Khlan Road, so you'll need a tuktuk when bringing girls back from Loi Kroh, 50-75 bht (but use their free shuttle services when going into the city center). For location only, LE Meridien is better.

Could someone please point me to a Thai hotel that isn't guest friendly? I've never seen one. Especially when you're asking about four or five star hotels. I can't imagine any of the pricier hotels risking offending their customer base by denying a visitor. One of the better things about Thailand is that people's personal business tends to remain just that. I find Thais to be really good about not sticking their nose into mine or other people's business. I really appreciate that, and wish that more falang would follow suit.

I recently managed to steal a few days away and went to Pattaya for the 2nd time. In 3 nights I had 3 different girls and they were just about the 3 worst shags I've had. Such was my experience I'm not looking to return to Pattaya or Thailand at all for that matter. I'm getting good service at a fair price in Europe these days.

The LUX is a great inexpensive place to stay for 700 baht, but it is tourist oriented, require passport to check in, and they don't encourage short timers.

Thanks![/QUOTE]The Amada curtain hotel, on Chang Mai Land, has very good rooms, 180 Baht for the first hour, 70 Baht for every hour after. Big rooms with bed (no blankets, they are not furnished for a comfortable sleep! Sofa, Jacuzzi, big TV with (Japanese) porn. There is however a surcharge for two girls, I paid 280 baht for one hour when I brought two ladies. Not sure what the following hours would be charged after that.

I will be traveling to Chiang Mai and plan to be there the last week of November up until about December 10th, 2015. I'm a newbie so would love to know if anyone is around that might be interested in exploring the local "night life" with me.
