Thanks for the update it is well appreciated. Its so rare that we get anything of any real use any more.
Chris
Given that you are after some useful information, I will give you another bit: Sosua prices are not like CBOT quotes. The asking Price has not varied ever since I saw it first time. In July 2011. The bid price can be 1000,1500, 2000,3000 pesos depending on who you ask, time of day, language and comm skills, and on how long you want to consort and similar. Of course some also pay additional. Having to deal with stuff stolen, cops and so forth but that is not quite the norm. This info will presumably serve you for the next 3 years.
I haven't made any reservations besides the flight and Rocky's, yet. Some of the DC chicas in SD and Santiago that I've been corresponding with are super stacked and sexy so hence those locations but I do like the beach, too. Maybe I will get lucky on the bus, too. I can hardly wait. I love those Asian babes when I go there but its so hard to find big boobs there. I think DR is known for big boobs, yes? I'd like to hook up with Miosotis in Santiago if that's possible. Has anyone been with her?
If you are taking the time to meet these girls on line then go ahead and ask them their price before you ever arrive. If not I know they will upset you when they tell you the price in person. Most women in the DR will go with you for much cheaper than their first offer but you must go through the negotiation process.

I have heard talk from people who are there that Willy the owner of D--Latins says he is going to re-open the place in 3 weeks.
He also wants to run for Mayor next year and thinks he can win. (He is currently Vice-Mayor).
So much for the BS that there was "Big-Money" behind this crackdown. There is no "Big-Money" going onto Sosua. Perhaps nothing more than a few small time newbies who think they can break new ground and are big losers.
Also once and for all the new cruiseport is not going to have any effect on Sosua. That's the biggest joke I have heard yet. It again looks like this crackdown was just another chapter in "Sosua-Politics as Usual".

Like people are saying on here Sosua is crawling with 5-0 Amet is every where but they are mostly checking Dominicans I had 1 motion to me to put my seat belt on. I was so thankful he did not give me a ticket that I motion him over and shook his hand for being fair with me. No propina no nothing.
Heading to Sosua in October. Anybody got any latest info?

I'm guessing based on what I've seen in Sosua in the past that the police are looking for people wearing helmets on moto-conchos and seat belts in cars?
What is 5-0 and AMET?
Hawaii Five-O was a TV series based on the fictional exploits of a special state police task force in Hawaii, starring Jack Lord as Lieutenant Steve McGarrret. The show was named in honor of Hawaii being the 50th state, but the name of the show was always pronounced Five-Oh (like the letter), not Five-Zero (like the number) for some reason.
I suspect 5-0 is just being used here as a generic nickname for an island police force.
AMET stands for Autoridad Metropolitana de Transporte, or the Dominican traffic police. Here in a video we seem them handing out a ticket to a motorist who is not totally happy with the situation.

My feeling is that if you negotiate a price that is lower than what the chica thinks is reasonable, you may set yourself up for getting something stolen or poor performance, or attempts to leave early, or attempts to renegotiate after the fact. Or the chica may refuse your offer and them come back to you later when her friends are not in earshot. Of course you might make a very reasonable bid and still run into all of those problems.
To my mind 2000 pesos is not completely unreasonable, bearing in mind that it is a little less than $50 and that money does not go far in the DR. I know some people will say they can get the same thing at home for less. Well, if that is the case don't pay it. I don't pay $15 for a haircut in the US when I can get the same thing done better in the DR for $5. Ditto with knob on for dental work. However make sure you are comparing like for like. For example, is it legal to pay for sex where you live? In the US, no. In Canada or England, yes.
Other people will say "$50 for an hour's work? That is more than I make at home!" But this is assuming that the chica is turning 8 tricks a day with health insurance and paid vacation provided, which is obviously not the case, and the chica may only get tricks now and again, so don't assume that you can relate this to the hourly rate that you earn in your own job back home to determine fair reimbursement.

As far as what they are looking for it be everything but especially what you have mentioned. I watched amet put eyes on a motor that was night right and they walked straight up made them stop get off there bike and start walking. I ask the guy who was driving the bike if he would get it back and he replied no. I have been reading in the Santo Domingo news for weeks about the thousands of moto's they are taking and not returning to the people. No matter what the reason it is sad to see this happen.

I was just responding to those that are focused on "how much", which really has not oscillated in the 3 years I know the place. My very first time was IN Sosua as you know, but never negotiated price and never had an issue and I never splurge. Perhaps now it is different and I have not needed Sosua in a long time. I would still argue that the whole thing is so much a factor of chemistry, which in turn depends on so many extrinsic factors not all of which are within one's control: focusing on price may lead the Sosua visitors miss the forest for the tree, in the grand scheme of "having a great time".
