Technically you are getting a six month Visa so that is the reason. Bigger PITA is Brazil. I had to actually send my passport to their embassy in Texas so they could approve my travel. It's payback for USA doing similar stuff. Reciprocity. Did have one Mx border dude tell me my Global Entry card was not a passport to get in, only to get out. Had a stare out for a few then he let me pass. If he had denied I would have walked over to Ped West and caught the bus in. Have had to do that a few times for friends forgetting their passports. Coming out was not a hassle as the CBP is better than the DMV at not being jerks.
