Camaro's Sosua Synopsis August 2014
Camaro's Sosua Synopsis August 2014.
Gentleman I just completed my Sosua -Jarbacoa excursion. This brief report will contain my notes for those who are interested in the updates from Sosua. Most of the information contained within will be known to veteran North Coast mongers but for newbies who want to explore Sosua this template can be an asset. This report is a companion to my Jarabacoa & Santiago synopsis reports.
Below I have listed my thoughts for your review.
New Garden Hotel.
When I first cut my teeth in Sosua I stayed at the New Garden Hotel quite frequently but I subsequently gave up on it because I did not care for the frat, noisy atmosphere. I decided to try it again to see if anything has changed; plus I like being within walking distance strip.
My room was very comfortable with good air-conditioning and strong WIFI. The room was clean and the staff was professional. I did not notice any of the frat high jinks of old but maybe it was because it was low season. New Garden has been known for in-house chicas but I only saw 2 none of which I felt were worthy of my pesos.
Victoria House.
I originally booked the Victoria House summer special because I wanted to see the difference between the old and the new wing however the old wing was not available so I stayed in the new wing like I had in my previous visits. Of course the view of the Sosua Bay is the primarily selling point.
Some people have various complaints about Victoria House but my only previous complaint would be some of the furniture and fixtures are dated but over all I have had a great stay there and the staff is great. This trip my reservation was misplaced and when it was located I was given the wrong key to my room. I was given another room but the WIFI did not work so the manager upgraded me to the Jacuzzi room. The WIFI worked excellent on the first part of my stay but the last 2 days it was intermittent therefore I had to go outside my room to use the internet.
*It should be noted that the grounds on both properties were well maintained and pleasing to the eye.
Dulce Secreto.
I ran into a Haitiana without a cedula so I decided to visit a cabana. Dulce Secreto is the only cabana that I know of in Sosua. It has 10 rooms starting from 600 DOP-800 DOP for 4 hours. The low end are basic rooms and the high end are Jacuzzi rooms. The rooms are very comfortable with cold air-conditioning and Flat Screen TV's. They provide 2 condoms for your using pleasure.
There is also a drink and food menu available.
Pedro Clisante update August 27,2014.
The primary change on Pedro Clisante (west) since my July trip is The Spot is closed. The Latins is still closed and Rumba is slow and far from its glory days. Below I have listed my observations:
• City Lights:
City Lights is as dead as a door knob and might as well be closed for all intensive purposes. Apparently they are closed on Sunday's.
• Rumbas:
Rumbas is still the late afternoon early evening gathering spot but the talent pool during the week leaves much to be desired. The talent level was low mostly 6's with a few 7's sprinkled in nothing to brag about.
• The Premium Disco Bar:
The Premium Disco Bar had chairs on the sidewalk and there was more of a crowd than my last trip and less security.
• The Spot:
The Spot is closed the doors are locked and the Flat screen TV's that were on the walls have been taken down. I was wondering how that place was staying afloat because since El Rey left it has crashed.
• The Winners Circle:
I saw a little crowd there each time I walked by but mostly people standing out front.
• Merengue:
Merengue is my favorite spot in the late evening because of the friendly staff and light snack they serve wings sandwiches etc. The kitchen is closed on Mondays. I also like being able to watch the chica parade up to Classicos through the glass partitions. They exchange money at wait for it. Yes 35 DOP to 1 US that's right gentleman so you might want to avoid changing money there.
• Classicos:
The crown of Sosua night life. Right now if Classicos was not open Sosua night life for mongers would suck! I enjoy the night club atmosphere and air-conditioning. Sosua's best comes out even on slow nights you can find a few 8's in the house. They open at 11 pm and it is on and poppin by 1 am. I enjoy everything about Classicos the drinks are a little expensive but that is a small price to pay for the chica parade you get to witness. During the week it is very comfortable however it is reported that on the weekends there are definitely fire code violations by US standards because it gets so crowded.
• Mamajuana Cafe:
The Mamajuana Cafe is closed on Sundays and is still a chill spot but it has very little traffic during the week. This another spot that is having difficulty surviving.
Speaking Spanish.
There is a proverb derived from the original Latin which says "when in Rome do as the Romans do. " When I went to Brazil and Thailand I did not thoroughly enjoy my experience because I could neither speak Portuguese or Thai. Although I love women like we all do I also enjoy the immersion experience and one of the best ways to immerse ourselves in the countries we visit is by speaking the language. Speaking Spanish in Latin American countries may not always be necessary but it is bound to enhance the travel experience.
We previously had a discussion about the pros and cons of speaking Spanish in Sosua. Some PFP chicas appreciate the effort and the ability to communicate with them enhances your experience, but other chicas do not want clients who speak Spanish because it signals to them you are less of a mark and they are less likely to be able to take advantage of you.
I have discovered it is not just speaking Spanish it is the topic of your conversation. I talk about the decline of Sosua and how foul some of the chicas are with their clients, some are willing to engage me in that conversation and some quite frankly do not want to hear it and will politely excuse themselves in a heart beat.
I realize that if I can't have a conversation with a PFP chica I surly won't be able to have a conversation with a civilian chica. Since communication is the life blood of any successful relationship I need to get my blood pumping as much as I can.
Taking Photos.
I have developed a strategy of trying to approach chicas with a sense of humor and conversation like there is a possibility of a friendship rather than a strict PFP client relationship so once we are comfortable with one another and after the exchange Facebook information I will try to get a "Selfie" of us together. I find most women who feel comfortable with me will take a picture together and if they won't I consider it a yellow if not a red flag. My thought is "why wouldn't you take a picture with a potential friend especially if you have already shared Facebook information?" Sometimes when they are too professional or too diva for photos I will abandon the pursuit depending on my assessment of the situation.
Photos are important to me not just for my individual archive but also in the event something goes wrong I will be able to identify the chica going forward and also give warning to other mongers.
My Chica observations.
I rarely refer to PFP chicas as a "puta," "cuero" or "chapiadora" because I believe the aforementioned terms do not necessarily describe a person but an attitude a mentality and a lifestyle. I have great respect for some chicas even though they are prostitutes they are good people and at victims of economic necessity; conversely some have made PFP a career and treat you like a client or worse and the experience you have with them is professional or maybe horrible. Whenever a chica demonstrates the characteristics of a "puta," "cuero" or "chapiadora" I walk away and do not look back.
None of the chicas I was with required the crazy "cien" or some other God forsaken number I was able to stay within the 1500-2000 DOP mark. I broke my rule and paid one chica 2500ST because I read her to be high end and I did not want to get into a back and forth negotiation with her. She was a chica I wanted to be with for quite some time however if she becomes a regular we will have to re-negotiate the terms.
The sex this trip varied from very good to fair and I am grateful I had none of the chica drama that has been reported by other members over the years.
Thoughts to ponder.
If we look at the recent past actions of the Dominican government a pattern emerges. The gringo figures or establishments that were noticeably directly or indirectly connected to prostitution in Sosua have been adversely effected.
1. The owner of Passions was incarcerated for a period and his business was shut down.
2. Cuba-Dave the most vocal and visible advocate of Passions and CMP reportedly was asked to leave the Dominican Republic and not to return.
3. The owner of Rumba was briefly incarcerated and has left the Dominican Republic.
4. Most recently the primary promoter of the Victoria House pool parties was detained and extorted.
The evidence indicates that this thing of ours as we knew it in Sosua is on the decline and it is unknown what the future will hold. It is obvious from the aforementioned pattern that the government's intention is to change the face of Sosua therefore those who are interested in Dominican Republic and Sosua specifically as a mongering destination need to be prepared to flow with the transition.
In my case this trip included a 2 day excursion to Jarabacoa and a day trip to Santiago in preparation for the pending Sosua shift.
El país que odio al amor.
Right now I have a love hate relationship with the Dominican Republic. I love the white sand beaches of Punta Cana but I hate the underground tourist industry that wants to suck you dry like a leech sucking blood out its host. I love the beautiful women but I hate the fact that even some of the civilians treat you like a cajero automatico. The biggest problem I have is with the corruption in government specifically the criminal justice system which seems not to operate based on the rule of law but the rule of who you know and how much money you have.
However, show me Utopia and I will show you the figment of someone's imagination. Fortunately, I have not been adversely affected by any of the negative things that have been reported by other board members therefore I intend to go forward walking circumspectly and keep a low profile while I am in the Dominican Republic.
Conclusion.
Not only do I have a love hate relationship with the Dominican Republic I also feel the same way about Sosua. Sosua can get old and boring real quick especially for me since I have been traveling to Sosua for over 5 years, therefore it is time for me to explore more of the Island. I see great potential in Santiago and Puerto Plata so future trips will include those destinations on the travel itinerary.
My next trip will be a Sosua-Bonao excursion the first week in October. Bonao is reported to be the Sosua for Dominicans therefore I must dig deeper into my Spanish so I can have a better experience there.
No puedo esperar.

A few more for photos for the members of the board
Nice bodies on those chicas, can we have permission to put our dicks in them as long as we don't say anything to them?
Permission granted Surfer. I had gotten in big trouble once before posting photos under a different handle so a little apprehensive. My permission along with a crisp 50 bill is all you need, well seriously just the 50.
A few more shots for the boys. I like those classic athletic Dominicana bodies. There has to be a reason that 10% of Major League Baseball are Dominicanas.
