Sosua is alive and well, fantastic trip August 27th to Sept 2 w / pics
This is my first ever trip report of any sort, but I felt inclined to do this report because I met a lot of fantastic people in Sosua and both wanted to share who they were and give tips to anyone looking to go. This was our first trip to the DR. Apologies for the stream-of-consciousness style of writing.
Let me begin by saying I have traveled around the world alone to many different places and the first thing you need to do is keep your expectations in check. You also need to constantly have your guard up for scams and hustlers. This is a normal thing and it doesn't matter where you are really. With all that said, my friend and I lucked out our entire trip as good people offered to help us all along the way.
A friend and I land in Santiago. We speak zero spanish. Lucky for us we met an awesome girl on our flight from Miami. Having chatted a bit on the plane, when we arrived she offered to take us to the bus station for free. Carib busses are the way to go. I cannot remember the exact cost but it was negligible for the 2 hour trip to Sosua / Cabarete. Maybe 10 dollars.
We stayed in Perla Marina, this is an expat residential community almost exactly in between Sosua and Cabarete, about a 5-10 minute drive each way. We found our condo through AirBnb, please message me for a recommendation. This is a perfect place to stay if you want privacy. The area has two security checkpoints and guests are required to leave their IDs at the gates. Countless armed guards patrol the grounds. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the "city" and prefer peace and quiet. This is the place. You have your own private beach with fantastic views to take the ladies out to if you wish.
Transportation I have one name for you. Elvis Diaz - 1-829-810-9999.
In the states, I work in the ghetto and have been around many many different types of people. I am always confident in my ability to judge character at face value. This was a good guy. We ended up spending the entire week with him. He took us to 27 waterfalls in Puerta Plata, Monkey Jungle, etc. We met his entire family, went to his house, he found us great cheap dominican places to eat, got us discounts everywhere we went. I highly recommend him. Find a driver you can trust! They are so useful! Chatting with a chick on whatsapp and need a driver to go pick her up and bring her to you for some TLN (all nighter)? Call Elvis, 500 pesos. Trip to Puerta Plata for 27 waterfalls? Call Elvis, 75 USD and he will even do the excursion with you.
The pic with the two guys is Elvis and I. Call Elvis. Trust me. A lot of drivers will scam you or try to get more money out of you, offering you women, deals, etc. Elvis is a stand-up guy. We randomly met some expats who work there and they actually knew him and vouched for him. We met his entire family. Great great guy, I'm really doing this review because guys like him deserve the business.
Tell him "El Chino" sent you, and he will take good care of you.
Now on to Sosua. We spent an entire week in the DR. I pipelined a handful of women before I came on badoo / tagged, but ended up not messaging any of them while I was there. Why? There are too many damn women! As far as tourists, the "strip" is relatively dead on the weekdays, but pretty packed on the weekends. The women are there all days of the week. With that said, we had both good experience and bad, but definitely more good.
Good experience Beautiful, beautiful women everywhere. The very first night, Wednesday night, no Spanish, we paid a random driver 1000 pesos to show us around and be a translator. We went to Rumbas and there was probably a 20 to 1 men to women ratio. He scored us two beautiful women for 2,000 pesos. I have a picture of the first one. Chick with white patterned pants on the couch. I spent 2 nights with her. The second night she didn't specify how much, said I could give whatever. I gave her 3 k because well I'm a nice guy. We did a lot of hanging out, listening to music. Total GFE experience both in bed and out.
Bad experience On a taxi ride back from Sosua one day, there was a girl in the cab (lots of cab sharing there.) My friend small talked with her, she said her father was a cop in NYC but that was an obvious lie. She spoke pretty good English, and my friend negotiated 1 k for a quickie. The taxi dropped us all off. Great looking girl, I don't have a pic.
We're back in our place, I jump on my computer while he does his business. About 10 minutes later, he comes out panicked telling me to hold his money. This chica stopped in the middle of intercourse and demanded more money!! He pleads with her while she refuses to leave. I'm listening to all this while on my computer thinking, WHY the fuck are you pleading with this * After about 2 minutes of listening to my friend beg, He pleads with me to help him out, I had enough. I get up. Look at my friend. Say in a very aggressive manner, "Do you want me to choke this * " I look at her and start looking pretty mean, going off, telling her that she need to get the fuck out of my face and get the fuck out of the house before I make her get out. After about a minute of yelling, she's like ok ok, I'm leaving. She leaves, threatens police action, he gives her 1 k for her troubles. I say fuck you, go on your merry way.
Moral of the story don't let these bitches run you. You run them. Man the fuck up.
Good experience The most beautiful woman I saw there. The girl in the blue dress and close up face shot. 1500 for 1 hour. 4 k for TLN. She was worth it. This a girl that could fetch 500-700 in Vegas easy. I have her number, shit I have all of their numbers. Let me know if you need them. Our game-plan after the first day was hang out at Rumbas, gather their numbers, then call them after 12 AM. This is about the time stuff starts dying down, you can call them for their last trick of the night and get a really good deal on TLN. There is also a German Bar next to Classica that rents out rooms for about 400 pesos, if you want to do the quickie while there.
We only had one bad experience the entire time there. Did a lot of outdoor activities and fucked beautiful women at night. DR is a fantastic place. It might not be as packed as it used to be but that is a good thing. Less competition and you can be picky! A lot of these girls probably don't even turn a trick every night.
Tips for the first time traveler
1. Bring a throwaway phone that can text, buy a Orange Sim there. I paid about 20 USD for a phone and Sim at "Orange. " You will need the phone for various things- calling drivers, meeting up women, chatting with women.
2. Google translate.
3. Elvis Diaz, the best guy in DR, English speaker, will take care of you.
4. Man the fuck up.
5. Be paranoid, hide your stuff.
6. Do not carry a lot of cash, have pants with zips. I withdrew 100 USD a day, and that was plenty for just about everything.
7. Negotiate, it's a buyers market. 1500 for 1 hr, 2 k for TLN if it's after 12.
Let me know if you need more details.
