Have seen this before, years ago, but that does not make it any the less funny. You really have to be married to, or in a close, long term relationship with a Pinay to know how spot on many of these pithy observations are.
Every time that I receive balikbayan boxes packed by Filipinas, I can guarantee that half the contents will either be useless throwaway, crap bought because it was on sale or part of a 2 for 1 offer (which no Pinay can resist) or old clothes (picked up in charity shops, no doubt), which even the most down-at-heel relatives would turn their noses up at. Every single time. Kitchenware is favourites. I have enough plates, pans, and cutlery in my house to equip a works canteen!
But isn't these eccentricities part of the reason we love 'em so:).

Although I lived in Manila 7 years I did not have any LT relationships with a Filipina but in my work I had close dealings (no sex) with many as there were about 1400 staff at my facility. I picked up on a lot of what you say and what is in the article.

It is NOT just in the beauty of the PH, it's anywhere, any country. Period.
Many guys have no luck in the PH and others are drowning in it. Some lucky guy in the PI would have no luck in his own country or elsewhere where you might. It's all up to how you present yourself and how the gals see you!

I have "nothing" on the Japan thread is not true, but it would be true to say that I rarely post there.
I can't help the guys looking for p4p in Japan because I've never done it there. I'm dating regular women, with regular jobs. They tend to be in their 30s and generally they pick up half the tab for any date or excursion. Life is good in Japan as you know.

I know there has been a lot of discussions over tome on this forum about the wisdom (or lack thereof) of sending money to girls in the Philippines and the cost of living ,etc. I almost fell out of my chair yesterday when I got this email from Cubuanas. A major operation in a hospital with a 1-2 week stay can run $400-$1,000. Health care insurance is available for approx. $2-$6 a month depending on family income. When the inevitable medical emergency arises with you and your dollars standing between life and death and you feel cornered, consider that for $50 a year you can provide insurance coverage (PhilHealth Insurance) for her entire family.
The average college graduate earns $150 a month and a public school teacher can earn at most $300 a month. Any job paying more that $300 monthly is foreign based and few and far between. Middle class family incomes here run approx. $250 a month. So when your girl starts talking to you about sending her more money than her family can earn in a month.
