I personally found the girls in SJ to be much better. First there are a lot more massage places in SJ. Also, there are a lot more pretty girls and more variety. There are women from Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, DR, and regular Costa Ricans working. The women at Del Ray are also better looking than most of the women at Latinos. To each there own, I guess.

There are no right or wrong answers in mongering. It took me a long while to come to that conclusion, but the main difference between mongers is the experience they seek. That point was really driven home to me last year in Peru when I saw a bunch of guys hanging with 40 year old working girls that frankly disqusted me, but nevertheless they were happy. When I would show up with a 19 or 20 year old spinner they would freak out and say they had 'daughters older then that'. My response was 'so what' but I finally understood that we all seek out what makes us happy. That is also why I have criticised somewhat the changes that have occured in Sosua but also said some guys may be happier now.

For me, San Jose is dead because 1) I don't like massage parlor action (exception Relax & vida in Peru) 2) The Smell Rey is no different than the escort action in the US as you are on the clock, the girls are hot and they basically hate you 3) The level of monger is mostly guys that are clueless about latin culture. 4) While certainly there are hot girls running around the del rey from all over the carribean and south america, they are hard core hookers. I don't like hard core hookers...never have and never will. Give me a part timer, a college girl looking for some jack, a girl who is trying to get you to falling love, whatever...this is the type that gives me the experience I like. I will do the hooker action as a fill in, but my target market is spending romantic time with hot latinas. Finding that in San Jose, while not impossible is nevertheless like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.

The reason the DR is much better IMO is that even with all the changes over the last several years, you can seek out extremely hot girls that really want to spend time with you and give you the romance sex, not the bump and run. Even the girls from the houses in Santiago and Puerto Plata will give you an all night experience that puts anything you can normally get in SJO to bitter shame.

Now, for the guys that like anonymous sex and visuals clues are all that is important, like their food expensive, like drivers, doormen, on site casinos, and chatting up businessmen, cigars, and watching football in the bar...go to the Del Rey. This is where you need to be.

Again no right or wrong. But you will find me horseback riding on a beach with my three day girl, or hanging in a disco with my 2 night girl, or out to dinner with a clerk from a store or a waitress...and generally doing things that make my trip special to me.

Hanging around talking about the stock market, politics with old fat businessmen in a casino lobby full of hard core hookers? Sure...if I am passing thru to go fishing or heading somewhere else in South or central america I may make a stop there. But for WF, never a destination will San Jose be.

I pretty much agree with the above. After 4 years of visiting the DR, I am pretty much burned out on mongering and my novia is coming to the US next week, which will mark my official retirement from the scene.

However the DR provided me with exactly what I wanted, which was the chance to have hot sexual relationships with attractive young women. For a long time I had a novia who was in her mid 30's, but that came to an end and her replacement is only 22, which is far too young, but, hey, she wants to be with me and she is a stunner, so what can I do?

In my four years I fucked maybe 100 Dominicana's young and old, fat and thin, ugly and gorgeous, tall and short, fair and dark, and by far the vast majority of these experiences were positive, life-affirming, and fun. Of course in any sample you will find some bummers, but for a man who wants to experience lots of good sex before he dies, the DR has a lot to offer.

For those who find "mongering" to be a pure sport, where the key elements are getting a girl who is especially good looking at a bargain price, there may well be better destinations.

So there is certainly good sex to be had there.

Good looks is mainly about youth and money. A girl can be cute, but she needs the money for the add-on hair, the sexy clothes, the nails, the makeup, nutritious food, dental care etc. to become a stunner.

During that time I spent several two month trips there and went for many two week spans. Last 5 times or so I did not stay at the europa because they twice made a reservation and then sold it out from under me.

Most providers are only in it for the money, and any romantic relationships that develop are only to get their 'green card' and then disappear. You got the 22 year old at just the right time. Not hardened and willing to please you for all that you've done for her. Nice work!

No, I did not live in Sosua, but have visited more than 30 times. I have stayed many times at the Europa.

I doubt whether I will go back to mongering for a number of reasons, but I am quite happy that my desire to monger has burned out. The last few times I have been mongering I really didn't want to do it, but I forced myself so as to be absolutely sure that I have had enough. Now when I do it it is more because I feel sorry for the girls than from any real desire to have sex with them.

This is good. At one time all I thought about day and night was getting to the DR and having sex with beautiful women and I thought that if I just gave in to the desire and did it as much as possible, eventually I would have enough, and now I have had enough. I just don't think sex has anything to offer any more. Maybe I will get a massage with a happy ending now and again if the opportunity arises, but I am not making any travel plans.

One of the biggest problems with mongering is the condom thing. During my whole mongering career I always had a novia, which means bareback sex, and have always found that condoms detract from sex. Yes, she is not a 'provider' to the best of my knowledge. Whether things will work out in the long run is always questionable. I'm not sure that romance ever comes into it very much in Dominican relationships. Money is always a factor. I don't think she thinks in terms of becoming rich, but she does want to be able to send money to help her mother and sisters. Fortunately there are no male relatives and she does not even know who her father is/was. Probably she sees me more as a father figure.

She is also a little unusual in that she has no children.

Everybody SAYS this about them getting the Green Card and then disappearing, but you could say the same about me as I got my Green Card by marriage and later divorced my wife! We had some epic times back in the day! Sosua was almost our little private playground. Only a smattering of american's went there and we were treated as kings. We used to have to chase the hot girls away so we could bang the next hot one.

Yes, Sosua has changed and I will never forget the early days. I remember rolling in to Sosua after mongering mostly in Central america and catching a ride with Fantasy to Sosua and immediately meeting LaJazz. We immediately just tore the place apart from Sosua to PP to Santiago, laughed, drank and otherwise had a ball. There was one disco back then in Sosua, The High Caribe, and we were buddies with the owners. Literally hundreds of girls would be in there and maybe 50 guys with only 10 to 20 being americans...a reverse meat market! The music was all bachata and reggaton with a smattering of Jamaican and the rare american hip hop song.

Yes, those were good days. I became addicted to the DR and would go for 2 weeks, come home and immediately start booking a return trip. I had many multi-month trips. More often then not the same guys would almost always be there.
